The doctor and staff are extremely nice. They explain everything they're doing as they go along and what it's purpose. The dog they have in their office makes for a relaxing experience.

This was THEE best experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. The appointment was even for my teen daughter- but, right from walking in! We walked into the wrong area, the employee walked us to the right area-where everyone was SO NICE, HAPPY, and WELCOMING.we seriously felt at home. AND THEN a sweet dog strolled through the office, as if we weren’t there at all. We instantly got MORE relaxed and more excited and called the dog over. Literally the sweetest girl. THEN, the technology used to look at her eyes was so easy, accessible, and the employee literally explained everything so well- in layman terms! Then, we got to the doctor. I was really nervous about the doctor- you know the eye Drs who quickly flip the thingies, get irritated when you can’t decide whether one or two look best, etc. HE WAS THEE MOST PATIENT and kindest Dr. I have ever met in my life. He Explained EVERYTHING, Made sure he answered my questions, and even let me interrupt with my questions randomly during his exam without showing any signs of being annoyed. And then- picking out the glasses- the doctor said “my staff won’t let you leave here in something that doesn’t look good. It represents us, and we won’t let that happen. ” I appreciated the comment but didn’t REALLY believe the words…. UNTIL my daughter was struggling picking out a pair. The employee asked what my daughter was going for, color, size, …we told her black, kinda big, and I added in a “hipster vibe” and this employee pulls one pair from the shelf- and it was THEE PAIR.instantly. My daughter loved them, they looked GREAT on her; we finished the ‘order’ and then the dog came strolling by again and my daughter and I literally sat on the floor and loved on the dog for I don’t even know how long before we left.
The whole experience was beyond exceptional, welcoming, organized, modern, efficient, and hygienic. I am beyond excited and relieved that my family and I have found OUR Optometrist family.

I visited today as a new patient. Office was very efficient and my eye exam was very thorough, glad I chose Pataskala Vision Center!

The entire staff is so friendly and patient. I am so indecisive when it comes to glasses and the young lady that helped me, didn’t once make me feel like a burden for trying to decide on a pair. Vickie checked me in and was sweet as can be. Ben did my tests and was so personable! Dr. Slezak made me chuckle. She was also so sweet.

I provided 2 stars because the service has always been exceptional there……. Until today. As with previous reviews, prices have always been higher here but it was worth it to me because the service from the doctors there was always exceptional.
I always opted for better lenses because of the warranty they offer. The warranty was always expressed to me verbally as “all inclusive, anything that happens to them during the warranty period would be covered”. Up until my last incident, they always were, no questions asked.
My last incident ruined both my lenses and frames. When I contacted them, they stated that the lenses were still under warranty but, they would not honor that warranty because my frames were destroyed and were discontinued by l. This was confusing to me. I purchased the two separately and understood I would need to purchase the new frames but why would putting new lenses into different frames void the lens warranty? Regardless, when I went in, I placed the order for new lenses and glasses because they offered 30% off. So, I paid what I was told would be the difference and waited for the order.
When the order came in, I was notified to pick up and told I owed yet another $80 because of insurance copay. This is when I began to question whether a discount was even given and again questioned the warranty. I was immediately met with resistance by a person in the office named Tosha. When I originally spoke with her on the phone, her tone was defensive. She defended the policy that the lenses would not be covered and insisted I pay the additional $80 copay. I requested a copy of the warranty which was provided via email. Prior to sending the warranty, Tosha asked if I still had original frames and if they were broken which seemed like an odd question to ask since it was obviously answered during the original call. I told her they were destroyed and thrown away as they were useless. She then provided the warranty via email which stated,

There is a 2-year unlimited warranty on all lenses that have Anti-Reflective coating. Lenses will be made in the Rx from the original order. No
changes can be made to the Rx/coating and no add-ons for this warranty

The way this reads to me is that they are covered unless a change to the prescription or coating is requested. When I asked about the wording of their own written warranty and why the lenses again were not covered, this was the response

“ There is no possible way for us to put every single scenario possible onto the warranty paper, this is the exception rather than the rule. Frames are hardly ever discontinued but we have no way of knowing when they will be. Our reps come in every 3 months to check our inventory so we stay on top of it. Again, I gave you your two options, since you threw away the old frame. The lab will not do a lens warranty in a new frame, no matter the circumstance, as this could be used to get free jobs for everyone. If you are unable to pay the $80 balance for the glasses by end of business tomorrow, we will refund you the amount you paid, reinstate your benefits, and send the glasses back. Thanks

This infuriated me. Insinuating I was unable to pay the balance was demeaning and making the statement “since you threw away your old frame” when, at no point during our original conversation was I asked to bring in the destroyed frame was ridiculous.

Turns out, after speaking to insurance, I was actually due for new glasses anyway and would have been better off getting an exam and updated prescription. I cancelled the order, notified her that I believe they should have notified me that they were using my yearly benefits to replace an old prescription and which would prevent me from getting an updated prescription when I was due.

She apologized and stated they believed I was notified and declined the new exam/updated prescription.

Overall, my many years with them have been positive. Hopefully this is just an outlying experience but……. Beware. If selecting the significantly higher priced option for lenses, the warranty is not unlimited……

The staff, dogs and doctors are all wonderful! The atmosphere is very welcoming and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a new vision care facility. As with life, prices are high, but they work with insurance to get the best possible outcome.

I was help quickly everyone there is just always so helpful and kind and I sure do enjoy that golden doodle he always comes up and greets me.
I’ve been coming to Pataskala Vision for quite a few years now and I’ve always had a very good experience

I have never had a more thorough eye exam; Dr. Walsh answered all of my questions and explained everything so I could actually understand it. He was very kind and caring, as was the rest of the staff.

The absolute best staff and eye dr I have ever been to. Everyone is so nice. My boys and I have been going there for about 3 years and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else! Thank you Pataskala Vision Center!
