As new pool owners we are very grateful to Curtis and his team. They took excellent care of our pool while we were getting comfortable handling it ourselves and never failed to give patient guidance. Our pool is beautiful and we would highly recommend Poolside.

Couldn't have been more impressed with the Poolside Shop. As a new pool owner, We needed much info on how to properly maintain the pools water etc. They very patiently explained what I needed to know and sold me the chemicals necessary. 5+ stars!

Great place. Very knowledgeable and have more pool items than most pool stores in the city of toledo. Definitely will be going back.

As a pool and spa nervous newbie, this place has been wonderful. I've learned so much from them. They are always patient and willing to explain. I take my water regularly to be tested and get all my supplies from them. They have never steered me wrong.

I have always given this retailer 5 stars because they are great in every way. They helped me maintain my easy set pool so well that I decided to purchase my first permanent structure pool from them this year. Unfortunately, I did have a bad experience with one of the contractors that were on their list of installers. I had to hire a new company to do a complete re-install of my pool after many failed attempts to get the first installation completed correctly. Poolside did try to intervene, but it's ultimately up to the contractors to refund or compensate for any poor installs or damages which I have yet to recieve from the first company I hired. The Pool Guyz LLC did a great job on re-installing my pool correctly and I would recommend them for any contractor needs. Thanks to Poolside for all their help and my Carvin Whitewall!

The BEST pool place around. The owner was so nice and helpful. It is our first pool and he has helped us through every step of the way. We stopped in just for a question and was there past closing and he didn’t even care. He never pushed any products on us and even told us some of the things we didn’t need that we were in to buy.

Some equipment is much more expensive than other outlets. It was an emergency other wise I would have and WILL shop elsewhere.

My favorite place to buy pool supplies! Friendly service and some of the better prices in the area. They helped get the pool in our new home in perfect shape.

They barely have anything and what they have is almost doubled priced compared to other stores.

Very friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable staff. Never feels like they're trying to sell you things you don't need - they just want to make sure you're happy with the outcome.

We went to our normal store and what we needed was out of stock and wouldn’t be in for a couple days. Decided to give this place a shot. A very nice young man attempted to help us but didn’t know the answer. As we were waiting for someone else to assist him and us, another man with bleached hair with fashion color in it chastised the young man for not having the correct info. He then was extremely rude to my husband while at the same time assisting another customer and basically called my husband a liar when my husband relayed information regarding the product we were looking for and the price our normal store was charging. Another older gentleman then became available and helped us kindly. Had we had the experience with the nice two gentleman, I would return but the rude one ensured we will not be returning.

We started using the Poolside Shop shortly after our pool was installed. We had another pool company put ours in. While they did a great job putting it in we kept having problems getting the pool water stabilized. If the chlorine was good the ph was off; if the ph was good the chlorine was high. This went on for a couple of years. (Thankfully that establishment is no longer in business.) As anyone owner can confirm, it's exasperating when one's pool water just won't cooperate.
On a whim, one season when we were opening our pool, we tried the Poolside Shop near us on Alexis Road. We met Gary, the main guy at this location, and he started us off by giving us a log sheet we use each time we bring water in for testing. In this way both he and we can keep track of our treatments. He gave us specific instructions on what we needed to do and when we needed to. In just a couple of trips our frustrations began to subside. The water began clearing up and we were ready for the splashing to begin.
Then three years ago, Gary talked to us about a relatively new filter product: glass. We were skeptical because our sand filter was working just fine - so why mess with success? As he explained, the glass media would give even better results. We finally agreed and took the plunge (no pun intended). I had to take all the sand out. The smell was disgusting.
The results? Our water seemed silkier and we noticed a minor decrease in chlorine usage.
My advice? If using sand media please make the switch to glass. You won't regret it. One has to use a supplemental treatment once a month but it's a small price to pay for better filter function. Further advice? Use the Poolside Shop. We've used them for 13 or 14 years.they know what they're doing and won't steer you wrong.

Randy is kind, accomidating, and professional. He knows everything there is to know about hot tubs, and I would recommend The Poolside Shop to anyone without hesitation.
