Went for our anniversary and it was a 10/10 experience. Service, food and ambiance were impeccable! One of, if not the best restaurants that Columbus has to to offer!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and sincerity. The ambience was cozy and inviting, and the skillfully crafted menu was a delight to our taste buds.
Our meal was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, and the service was exceptional. We were even sent home with desserts for our children, which was a lovely touch.
As a business owner, I was particularly impressed by the valuable lesson on customer service that The Refectory provided. They have earned themselves a repeat customer in me.
Overall, I would highly recommend The Refectory to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. They are truly a step above the rest.

This was our first time there. My parents took me out for my birthday. The experience all around was amazing. Our server Nicholas was very informative and engaging. I love dark red wines and normally go to my safe choice of merlot. Nicholas helped me try a new red I had never had and he was spot on when he allowed me to taste his suggestion. Food presentation, quality and taste were fantastic. We started with the Classic Brie Tart. My father and I had the lamb and mom had the veal. Our desserts were the Chocolate Charolette and the Warm Pear Tart and both were almost too pretty to eat. We will back again!

This visit to the Refectory, one of many, was to celebrate the 83rd birthday celebration of a dear friend of ours and to treat this long-time patron of the Refectory to a wonderful dinner.
We were not at all disappointed! From the door to the table, our experience was fantastic! Our server was very attentive to our table.

Let me start by saying the food was delicious although my lamb was over cooked and all the dishes were very small portions. However the service was not up to what I would expect when spending this kind of money in a restaurant. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and were looking forward to a leisurely dinner. We felt very rushed from the start! The first thing out of our waiter's mouth was "do you know what you would like to order? " He (Joseph) asked us that at least 3 times before we had time to review the menu and decide on what we would like. We got the feeling that he could care less whether we dined there and that there were more important guests for him to attend to. Never did he offer to explain anything on the menu unless we asked. We ordered a cheese plate and he set it down and walked away. Not a word about what the different cheeses were! Needless to say this night did not turn out the way we had envisioned. They did put a candle in my wife's desert but as I kind of expected, it was not complimentary!

Went there to treat myself for my birthday. Everything was divine. The food was marvelous, small plates that were beautifully presented, a variety of flavours that were delicious, well cooked, pleasant texture and colourful. The decor is tasteful and the ambiance was relaxing. Service was great, they were unfussy and friendly and not obsequious. I usually listen to audiobooks when I dine alone and I could relax and do that. Wine and beer was delicious.

Nick, our Server was absolutely wonderful. He was not only very knowledgable of the menu, he was hospitable, friendly, and paired our dinner choices perfectly with wine. Thank you!

First visit and highly impressed by everyone professionalism and accommodation. My wife and I were celebrating our 9th anniversary and they made it especial and romantic. Food was excellent but the quantity was poor. Service was as expected 40 minutes before asking for a drink order. Been there maybe 10 years ago and probably 10 more years before returning

An absolutely first class blue ribbon experience. Kudos to the chef, the owner, and our wonderful attentive informative server Joseph. We were transported. The presentation, the food, menu choices and your suggestions for pairing wine are on point. Superb.

I have to admit that I haven't been for awhile at the Refectory but as I expected this is for obvious reasons probably the best Restaurant in central Ohio and maybe even beyond. The consistency of food quality persists now for over 30 years and is never disappointing. Chef Richard's straight forward French high quality cuisine is honest and real. Here the chef and staff know about Gastronomy and don't mention big french terms and then butcher them in poor performance as so many newcomer wannabe "Chefs" do! So a Demi Glace is what it is supposed to be and you can tell with every course that the building blocks of classical cuisine where and are taught. A trademark that that is barely in existence anymore.
FOH service is also first class and hard to find in central Ohio, the bartender serves drinks with passion and Kamal the owner treats every guest with courtesy and like royalty.
So if you want quality for an adequate price, good service and no fuzz cuisine, that knows what they are doing and serving, then I recommend the Refactory any day before one of those " molecular-dont - know how to cook" establishment!

Came for our 8th anniversary - this has been our favorite restaurant experience in Columbus! Just fantastic food and service. Dom was so helpful and friendly. The owner Kamal seemed so grateful to have us there. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Dinners were good, but took 30 minutes to receive, and portions are very small - it's more about the presentation. Wanted to order dessert but I was afraid of how long it would take, so decided against it.

This was the best meal I've had in Ohio. The food was all excellently prepared, the service was wonderful, the atmosphere was great. I also appreciated there was a good selection of non-alcoholic drink options. We will definitely make the more than hour drive to come back for a future special occasion. We celebrated a birthday and they put a personalized card on the table saying happy birthday, and put a candle in the dessert.
