The Tavern of Mayfield, Cleveland OH

Fish fry was all crunchy, beer batter coating, couldn't see the fish. Clam chowder not real good at 9.95, fries were good, waitress was great.

Family and I went for first time under the new ownership and was great. Owner did warn they were understaffed due to a number calling off and it could take a while. We appreciated that and stayed anyways and all went great. The food was great. Great burgers, great wings, service was no issue. Will be back for sure.

I've been here a few times to fully solidify my opinion. They are probably fine if you're going here for drinks, but the food is lacking and the service is mediocre.

I enjoy local places that bring the feeling of the area, and this didn't disappoint.
This was a pleasant meal in a local tavern style.
They had v vegetarian options, and I chose the veggie wrap with the kettle chips.
Even though the wrap was fairly standard, that is a good thing in a tavern, as it was fresh and tasty, and lived up to others I've enjoyed.
The kettle chips were crispy and full of flavor.

My wife had blue cheese fries, and said she really enjoyed them.
Topped off with a Guinness

Food was decent for the price and the restaurant was very clean! Buffalo chicken wrap could have used more sauce but was otherwise tasty. Kettle chips were good. However, the service was very slow, even though the place was half empty (Monday night). We weren't in a rush, and I'm guessing they're understaffed as many are (seemed like there was only one waitress and they had a sign up saying they were hiring), so not a huge issue. I may try it again if I'm in the area for lunch and in the mood for tavern food.

Waitress was very friendly environment seemed friendly as well. We got wings and steak 2 me drinks. Price was very reasonable wings and drinks were good. Steak was the only problem was tough and wasn't medium. I'd say order your steaks medium well here

I decided to try something new one night and i regret it. This place was horrible. The food took over 2 hours to be made and was not even that appealing when it did finally come out. On top of that, what i believe to be, one of the higher ranking managers was drunk at the bar on the job. This place looked very good until you stepped in the door. I highly recommend going somewhere else!

This place is terrible! The short staffing is clearly shown here. The manager is not attentive to other employees or us customers at all, I've been in a few times and each time the "general manager" I’ve seen at the front bar just having drinks. I was able to see this first hand. I would give it a 0 star rating if I could, great concept ran TERRIBLY!

Stopped by this place on a road trip and was very pleased! Maggie was incredibly nice and helpful! I got the Panini burger with an impossible burger substitute and it was amazing! First time in 15yrs I got a burger that had all the whacky fun add ins (mac n cheese wedges, fries, slaw, etc). Nice cozy atmosphere and great beer as well.

I had dropped my wife off at Landerhaven for a meeting and was looking for a place to grab a beer and sandwich… I found Taverne on Mayfield and it is a TRUE WINNER! The staff are super friendly and the food is OUTSTANDING! While I’m from the far westside I will certainly be back! Thank you for the outstanding service / food!

First time there after hearing about the food. Did not disappoint. Who could think we could sit on the patio in November. Server was attentive and very friendly. GF ordered a cobb salad that was fresh (no bag Lettuce) and tasty. We shared the Lettuce wraps that were excellent, and I had a tavern burger that ranks up with the best I've had. Will definately return.

Service at the bar was good but the food was really bad. Everything I ordered was over cooked. I'll never order food again.

Stopped in as it's the closest bar to my hotel. Had the wonderful pleasure of having Maggie as my bartender and meeting the owner. For being a ways away from home, I was absolutely treated like family at the bar. Highly recommend to anyone in or visiting the area.

This was my first time ordering. I had a day off from work and decided to get takeout lunch. I got the fish, which comes with coleslaw and kettle chips. The fish was good, but over breaded. The coleslaw was very good! It's not dry with vinegar or creamy coleslaw. It's somewhere in the middle texture and flavor wise, but I thought it was delicious. The tarter sauce that's included was good. The kettle chips must be low salt, but needed some type of seasoning. Next time I plan on ordering one of their sandwiches. I will definitely come back.

Visit from KY we were given a referral to go to the Tavern by a Giant Eagle employee. Found the Tavern to be a nice friendly place and pretty busy for 730 pm. The drinks and food were good. The bartender/ server was friendly and helpful with suggestions.

My wings was burned twice and I order garlic Parm wings they taste like Bourbon with garlic on it. I’ll never go back here.

1st time there. Went for Wing week. Loveeed the wings! Presentation was appealing. Great prices on other menu items. FAST and friendly service. I will definitely return for lunch dates!
