The Tree Church reviews
5If I would have wanted to go to a concert I would have made the time to purchase tickets
Nice ppl. The message is easy to understand. The Pastor is engaging and seems very relatable.
Previous experiences were good. Great church with great sermons. Very moving every time we have gone. BUT.
Update as today (8/27/2023) was hurtful and did not feel loved or welcomed. His words were of stones as if he was above all of us and not a sinner himself.
Sermon ended with telling us to stop being gay. I am a married man to my husband. To stop being gay would mean divorce. Isnt divorce a sin and considered adultery for both of us?
Pastor Mat needs to stop reading the Bible as a book of rules.like a Pharisee. Being gay may be a sin but Jesus sat with sinners. Nobody is perfect.
"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "
Matthew 7: 3
I encourage Mat to read up on the most 2 important laws of the bible below.
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? ” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets. ”
Matthew 22: 36-40
Let me start by saying I NEVER leave reviews for any business. With that said, I’ve been to many churches throughout my life and I’ve never experienced anything like what my family & I experienced the first time we walked into this church. We just moved to the area and were really hoping to find a good church with a good worship team (I’m a musician so that’s important). So we walk in with our 1 year old daughter and instantly see labeling above the doors “Family Auditorium” and “Adult Auditorium”. So confused, we walk to the Family Auditorium and see an empty dark room with 25 plastic chairs facing a big screen. So we say, no let’s go to the other one “surely they won’t kick us out”. We walk in and are instantly stopped by a man telling us we weren’t allowed to bring her in. We either had to go sit in a separate room by ourselves, or take her to the daycare. We turned around and left. We will NEVER go back there & are complete dumbfounded. What kind of “Christian” is that?
