The Trout Club, Newark OH

We ALWAYS have the best experience here! I'm talking food, service and atmosphere! Chelsea has always gone out of her way for us, and most recently we discovered that Conner does the same! You have employed some very special people, we will continue to patronize as often as possible!

Arrived at 5: 20 for a 5: 30P. M.reservation on New Years Eve and were seated promptly in a bar area in the upstairs near the entertainment venue. We were greeted by our waiter Conner and ordered Lemonade, diet soda and sweet tea. 2 of us ordered the Beer battered cod, 1 ordered the beef stroganoff, the other member of our party of four ordered the Dijon mustard and horse radish encrusted pork chop. 2 had the salads that they enjoyed. The cod was delicious and nicely battered. The beef stroganoff was found to be a bit dry and lacking ample sauce. The pork chop ended up being a steak by accident but the recipient found it to be quite delightful! The mistake was found out after the fact and he was given the pork chop to take home, free of charge to consume later! I had the sweet potato fries and green beans and they were very good. Others had the mashed potatoes and liked them well. 1 of our party didn't like the baked potato, as it was too dry and the green beans were to crunchy. We did not order dessert. There was a musical duo know as ' Two 23' there and their performance and singing complimented our meal! We all agreed that this restaurant had a good vibe and nice atmosphere and was worth revisiting.

I got married at the Trout Club in August 2022 and wanted to leave my review here! This place is amazing. The venue is awesome and provides the most beautiful location for indoor, in between glass pavilion, and outdoor setting all in one venue. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, and so did all of my guests! It really is quite unique. The food was literally 5 stars as well from appetizers to the main menu. If I am being honest though, the selling point for me to book my wedding at the Trout Club was all of the amazing things I heard about the wedding coordinator, Amanda. If you book your wedding venue here, you will work very closely with Amanda. Everything you hear about her is true - she’s the absolute best. She is diligent, organized, enthusiastic about her job, and is extremely flexible in making all of your wedding dreams come true. She will take all of the worry and stress about of your wedding day because you can trust that she has everything organized to the minute detail and your best interests in mind. I say all of these things because I truly had an amazing experience at the Trout Club and would recommend this place and Amanda to anyone. The entire staff helped make my wedding day the most magical! Thank you Trout Club!

Great food, wonderful night on the porch! Update summer 2022: continues to impress for quality of food and wonderful caring service. You don't mind paying today's cost of dining out when it's worth it. The trout club is worth it! September 2022 update: Wyatt provides awesome service on the porch, thank you!

Good food, attentive staff, lovely setting. Abit pricey, but everything seems to be now. Nice for special occasion.

Did the "stay and play" with some friends as we do every year. Golf course is fun, back 9 very hilly but fun. Accommodations are nice. Staff is fantastic, everyone very helpful and friendly. Food at Restaurant is very good. Would highly recommend.

Edit of Review: I updated my review from a 2 star to a 4 star. Management went the extra mile and reached out to my husband by phone call in less than an hour or so after posting this review. (Must've went through their reservation list from night before and found our last name, since reservation was made by my husband and this review by me - no phone number listed.) They were very pleasant and invited us out for dinner to make this right. I informed them we were not going to be traveling back that way that evening. I'm choosing to edit my review on customer service, I can't unfortunately vouch for the food. But everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food. When we're back in the area we'll give The Trout Club another try.

We were visiting the area and The Trout Club came highly recommended by our host. The grounds and Club were impressive - way to go. When we arrived we were sat immediately at a great little outside table with our name on it, which we had called in earlier in the day for a reservation. We were excited about the menu and had all of our menu items picked out. We are fully aware of staffing issues currently going on in our society and are very understanding in this case. We sat there for over 21 minutes without even a simple Hello. I was going to wait 25 - my husband was over it at 15 minutes. There were 2 servers that had looked over at us - but more of in the instance of “who has that table”? So we left. Ended up at the The Red Oak Pub where we were greeted with fast and friendly service and the food was good. Just a courteous Hello was all it would’ve taken to get us to hang around.

My five star rating was earlier in the year, after our Anniversary Dinner three days ago I would only rate our experience two stars.

Says you are open so we come there and the kitchen is closed. Can only get appetizers or salad. Ridiculous. You have a party going on so other people mean nothing to you. I will spread the word

My husband and I got married here and it was magical. Amanda is so sweet and caring. I felt like I was gonna be so stressed and she relieved me of all of it before the wedding and the wedding day. She is amazing at what she does.

Was our first time in and we were not at all disappointed. Extremely attentive staff, beautiful atmosphere and best yet, fantastic food and for a really good price. I think we've found our new local favorite

I had never been out since the fire and was very pleased that we decided to give it a try. We shared coconut shrimp and I had the Hawaiian chicken for dinner, which was AMAZING. There was live music and a fun crowd. We would definitely come back again.
