Tiffin River Service Plaza reviews
12 The plaza itself is great - it’s always well kept, clean, and the staff is usually friendly (minus Sbarro). I’ve come to this plaza several times over the past year and find myself feeling awful after visiting Sbarro due to moody and unpleasant workers more often than not. Their food quality is hit and miss as well. That’s the only item preventing me from giving the service plaza 5 stars.
It has a lot of truck parking that fills up about 8-9 pm on average but is decent.
Got here at 8 pm only place open for food was Burger King, they were out of chicken for sandwiches than their soda machine is out of order, don't waste your time keep driving to the next place!
The little tables at Starbucks were pretty messy. Stopped in the convenience store, which was clean. Purchased some souvenirs, although the selection was limited.
You can pee here and look at a map to see much longer you have to spend in the car with teenagers. Don't forget to check out the stale Starbucks bread.
Burger King was out of burgers. Comical just saying that. Decided I'd get pizza. The pizza wasn't good. Bathrooms were clean though. So that's a plus
The OHIO TURNPIKE SYSTEM
is the nations Best.
Excellent services for professional
drivers.
RV folks they have even more amenities for You.
I love all of these travel plazas they just make my travels so much easier with the kids. Especially if weather is less then ideal. I can get the kids out and let them stretch their legs. We all use the restroom and get something too eat. Then there is the convience store for snacks for the car or some sort of activity book for the kids.
Fast Food expensive. Check your order at Burger King, they will try to cheat you. Ordered a bacon king burger, they gave me a bacon king Jr burger. The manager tried to charge me extra, said I ordered a jr. Front counter workers are ok though. Typical travel plaza, ok place to stop when you need a quick break.
Better gas prices than in Indiana. Loads of information, and several restaurants/fast food places, though they appeared to be closed at four thirty in the morning. There are vending machines, however, a trucker's lounge, and clean restrooms. There are also parking spaces that are not brightly lit, but still safe, if you need to catch some shut eye.
Prices are absolutely outrageous like the rest of the toll service stations but good food and clean facility
The people that work here are slow and very grumpy. For example, I went to sbarro and it took them a little while to come help us and she said she had to serve to older pizza first and we didn't want that so we went to BK, and on our way out she had served some of the fresh pizza to some other people so I felt like we got discriminated also most of their food was gone and the lady seemed annoyed that she had to help us. At burger king the guy that helped us was also grumpy and didn't seem like he wanted to be there and we waited forever for our food, I give this place 2 stars because the building itself was nice and clean, but terrible service.
My number 1 issue here is the restaurants. We went to Sbarro first and I asked if they could put spinach in my Philly cheese steak Stromboli. The girl looked at me like I was stupid and looks up at the menu saying "That's not on our menu. "
So tried Burger King. I'm supposed to be low carbs so while spinach in the Stromboli would counter the carbs I asked to just have lettuce on both sides of my burger instead of a bun and was told they couldn't do that. I gave up. My husband ordered the Sour Dough Burger and ended up getting the Rodeo Burger which is currently marked off on the menu as unavailable so he definitely didn't order it! This is the worst experience we've had at a travel plaza and we certainly will make effort to not be back.
As far as the restrooms go: They are clean and fine to use. I don't care for the soap dispensers or the soap bc you get too little and it's watered down. The faucets are automatic too but not as picky as many are.
