Toledo Monument reviews
5Great company and family business. I would definitely refer people to this company.
This place was great during a difficult time. They were patient with my mom and I and even let my mom come up with her own design.
I enjoyed working with a young gentleman named Chris who took the time to explain to me the differences in granite and different pricing options of different styles or cuts of granite I was shopping for my wife who passed away in February, and Chris reached out to me in late March. He never seemed pushy, and said each time he called thereafter that he would be around to help, that I should just take my time and call when I felt ready. I finally decided to buy one this November and was shocked Chris was no longer there. I spoke with a Jake then a Stu, and neither of them gave me then impression that they knew what I was looking for and instead they seemed anxious to get me to commit and buy, then decide later on a design. I had several repeat calls from them following up, they said, in less than two weeks. Jake suggested I could offer a credit card number and get the stone reserved and work on a style of design later. I felt rushed and I asked what happened to Chris. I was told by the other man that Chris no longer worked at the company. I have the impression he either moved on or was forced to move on. I kept explaining what I wanted in a stone and told them both that Chris knew what I wanted, but my needs were brushed aside. I will do my business elsewhere. If a company like Toledo Monument cannot keep a caring and qualified person like Chris Crowe around, who I understood was making a living by calling people for grave markers but never pushy, and instead puts in an unqualified bunch who seem eager to get their commissions then follow up with a family later on stone color and design, then TOLEDO MONUMENT and whatever branches they own, are not worth the pain and suffering. Families can do better with Adrian Monuments, or Arnet's Monuments.
If there was a zero stars, I would choose that. I operate a funeral home in Michigan and have had several client families receive calls from Toledo Monument right after a family funeral. They tell my client that they are working with me and that I asked them to give them a call. That is a complete lie. I do not and will not ever partner with Toledo Monument. These practices are inexcusable. Do business with people you know and trust, not some telemarketer that scans the obituaries.
Toledo Monument created the perfect Memorial for my parents, just as I imagined my father would've loved. They were very helpful from start to finish and informed me that I could inter cremains securely in the base of the monument. The photo that was etched turned out perfect and they delivered to my Michigan Cemetery. Thank you so much for fulfilling my expectations! I will spread the word!
