One star low as i could go but i wouldn't evan give that, they have no common sense about any medical ailments it's like getting help from a pamphlet and if you go somewhere else but need them for medical references of prior visits they get brain freeze and can't help.

I have not had bad care from this hospital! The doctors at this hospital are the reason my husband is still with me today!

Never will I go back to UVMC. I'm a severe asthmatic and have been hospitalized numerous times due to my severity and other lung history.
I've been to the ER twice this week for my asthma and released. Not any better so I go to urgent care to try to save me money and not go to ER. Get sent to ER because the nurse practitioner there is familiar with my history due to used to work for my pulmonary doctor and has seen me as a patient in the hospital. She says I need direct admit. She tries to get hold of of my pulmonary doctor but no luck. I page him he says go to ER have them call him for admission because he cant direct admitt this time of afternoon. I go to ER telling them my story. I get EKG done in room. Nurse goes to look for iv site but doesnt see vein so she says she will let my nurse start it. My nurse never came into my room. Physician student comes in takes quick listen hears alot of wheezing says he doesnt need to listen any longer. Asks if I got breathing treatment yet I say no so he asked if I wanted one i say yes. He says he will talk to the ER doctor about getting me admitted since thats why I was there. Physicians assistant comes in and tells me all my test this week dont point to any infection. I explained why I was there. He refuses to call my doctor because my test this week were fine. No test done in Er today and he tells me he's not going to do any. Then he advises me that the reason im wheezing and coughing up yellow thick sputum is because I hypeventilated yesterday. Then I see 2 ladies at my door didn't introduce themselves. Saw I was upset and heard me talking to physician assistant. Asked if they should come back he says yes. I have no idea who they are. I tell him since he's not going to help me then just give me my papers. He says ok. Mind you this assistant knows me from previous visits and I used to work with him at the hospital. Nurse come in with papers so I sign them. Walking out into hallway I see diagnosis of anxiety and treatment performed today was referred to behavioral health! Which tells me that was already planned before he walked into the room.

Just last month I went to the UVMC Hospital in Troy. The doctor I had was elderly and Chinese. He was very nice and seemed like he knows what he was doing. However, that was not the case at all. My charts show my allergies and medications. I'm allergic to penicillin and he put me on 1500 mg of a antibiotic from the penicillin family of meds. I had no idea that it was from that same branch of meds because I'm not a doctor. Also I'm on metformin and you're not supposed to take this kind of antibiotic if you're on metformin. The antibiotic can significantly lower your blood sugar and it can be dangerous. Luckily I'm okay and the antibiotic is gone. We discovered these side effects online, they were not listed on the package. So, I would advise everybody to look up your medicine online before even leaving the ER. I've also had trouble with another doctor up there not knowing what he was doing either. Dr. David Summers. Telling me nothing was wrong and I knew something was very wrong. I got worse and went to my family physician 2 Days later. I had a upper respiratory infection and an ear infection and some bronchitis. Why be a doctor if you're just going to tap someone on the shoulder tell him they're going to be fine. I used to think this was the best hospital ever. Now I'm not sure I'll ever go back.

Have been through Er and stayed in hospital several times since 2012. Could not ask for better people in a time of crisis when I'm out of it with pain, willing to explain why they do things or don't do things like giving extra pain meds or why they need certain tests. Better yet willing to work you making payments.

The nursing staff in the ER is great but the doctors are horrible. They don’t listen and seem to just want to zip in and zip out like they have something better to do.

Not a place I would ever go if I needed medical attention. They will tell you one thing and do another. Their goal is to get you out of there as quickly as possible.

If i couls give them 0 stars i would. My mother came in through the e.r and got admitted and has stayed one night and has to stay another. This is by far the worst, hospitial stay i have ever been apart of. Staff (nurses) have been very rude and nasty toward my mother and her wife and myself, i am just lost for words. The way a 2nd shift nurse treated us and a 1st shift nurse. All i have to say is some people do NOT need to be in the medical field.

Recently was admitted with pneumonia. Both ER and patient care were
exceptional in their thoroughness, and their attention to my care.
When I was released, I personally thanked all those who were
involved. Can’t say enough about their professionalism!

Absolutely go here if you want to die! Horrible care, slow to react. I would send anyone I know here!

This is for the physicians building, I took my dad to the neurologist today and couldn’t believe the level of unprofessionalism by the staff. The receptionist was mad over paperwork that they never sent to be filled out, which took me about 5 minutes to fill out. Then the nurse was inpatient and rude for no reason, I’ve never even seen an er nurse act like that even though they have every right to. My dad has dementia and she was very short and rude to him. That was when I drew the line and told her to knock it off. She didn’t have anything to say to that. Found out she was mad over us not bringing all his medication in. Which of course, they never told my parents or me we needed to do beforehand. Unprofessional all across the board.

They failed to catch a medical issue I have had my entire life and had been there many times.
They did not tell my mom that her gallbladder was not fully working.
They need to pick better and more competent staff.

Where do I begin? My husband has suffered with chronic pancreatitis for approximately 10 years. He is s hard working, decent man, suffering with bouts of excruciating pain. We have been to Cleveland Clinic and to Indiana University and to several specialists. He has a general doctor and a gastrointestinal specialist, as well. However, when he suffers from an attack, he has to seek medically assisted care for the pain, dehydration and everything that goes with pancreatitis. The problem is the unrelenting show of non- compassionate care and down right medical neglect we almost always receive at Upper Valley. While the hospital has always provided substandard medical care, today was more than any human being should endure. My husband was told that they would not provide him with the treatment he needed, conducive to alleviating his pain. Only IV medication is really effective, which UV refused. Our family doctor knows what works but they do not listen to him as the hospital hires their own doctors. The hospital had the audacity to tell our family doctor, they thought my husband was drug seeking! Our family doctor knows this is not true and has been our only advocate. Oh, did I mention my husband is African American? They are the most racist group of professionals I have ever met. They are afraid with the opioid epidemic they will jeopardize their licenses, so patients will be highly scrutinized, if you are a patient that fits their “profile” of what a drug seeker looks like. If the doctors are afraid to practice in an ethical and compassionate manner, then get the hell out of medicine! I am still seething and I will not let this go! I will be filing a formal complaint. I don’t know what this hospital does, but quality health care and human dignity have left the building! We should be ashamed as a community to have this hospital represent the standard of care for our families! Anyone with any information or suggestions regarding legal options, please post. Thank-you, Stan and Kelley Butcher

My last visit to the E. R.was terrible. As soon as I walked in I was interrogated by the woman at the front desk. She asked me if I took any illegal drugs I said No. Pretty standard question but she kept pressing me. "Are you sure? " "You don't have to lie. " She basically called me a liar. Do they treat all their patients like overdosing drug addict criminals or was it just me? She made me feel bad when I already felt like I was going to pass out. I don't do or abuse any drugs it was very rude the way she treated me. And why did I feel like passing out? I don't know the Dr.didn't give me any answers just gave me vertigo medicine and sent me home.

This wasn't even my worst visit, one time I was in the back room for 6hrs i'm guessing for a panic attack that passed after about 3hrs. Finally I told nurse I was going to leave. She said no she'll get the Dr. About 20min later the Dr.came in and said he apologized and that "He Forgot About Me". How do you forget about someome in the E. R? ! If it was a real heartattack instead of a panic attack I would of died. Then his quick diagnosis was my ribs were probably just sore and sent me home. Ignoring my 140bpm heart rate and feeling like I was dying for 4hrs.

There isn't a place in this world I hate more than anything having to do with Premier Health. When I broke my hips in the Army, I came here for civilian treatment. I had X-rays done, but the doctor never once looked at them. As a 68W I knew how to read an X-ray, and I could see my fractures from all the way across the room. He prescribed me ibuprofen and sent me home. Paid $200 for that. When my Nexplanon implant broke in my arm, I was given the runaround from Premier Health for three months before it was finally removed, after I'd had multiple miscarriages, a yeast infection, a kidney infection, and migraines so bad I didn't get out of bed for two weeks. I was told these symptoms were not caused by my implant and that is why they did not remove it, one week after my two halves of my implant came out my symptoms miraculously went away. I was also told once I paid my $15 copay I would not pay anything else. $500 for that. This same kidney infection landed me a stupid trip to the ER, where I sat there for two hours bawling my eyes out in pain while the people that had been there ten minutes smiled their way back to their rooms. Two hours later I'm taken back to a room where I ask for pain meds, for two more hours, and when I finally get to the point where I'm screaming in pain, I'm told I have some anxiety and am pumped full of anxiety meds. Not until I pass out from pain at I given some pain meds. Sent home with nothing but a $900 bill. Two days later, pass out at work, taken to the same worthless hospital where I'm laying on a freaking board for an hour, where I did not have paralysis, but I might have had I not taken MYSELF off the board since there was no doctor to be found for an hour and a half. $700. So basically I'm paying off a whole bunch and bunch of medical bills for some ibuprofen and useless anxiety medication. If you're dying, don't come here. And I mean that literally, I have a friend with severe diabetes who finds herself here every other day and they basically send her home with a sticker and a lollipop every time. They will not treat you here, I can just about promise you that. OBGYN with Dr Vignali is the only doctor I'd see throughout this entire company, and I will never ever go to him again until he finds a better company to work for than Premier Health. Save yourself the time, pain, and money.
