Upstairs at Van Aken, Shaker Heights OH

Just moved here a few months ago, management is super friendly and helpful and maintenance is top notch and always willing to help. We are so happy we picked Upstairs! After a new company took over we still love Upstairs and signed another lease. Anna is amazing and maintenance rocks!

I put in multiple work orders because the floor of my bathroom would randomly be wet and there was a large wet spot on the ceiling. They came in, looked at it, and told me there was no water or leak. They asked if I had just taken a shower…they eventually came in and painted over the water mark on the ceiling. Now there’s more water on the floor and the water mark is back. Next thing you know, they’re going to tell me gaslighting isn’t a word! Management is super unhelpful and you definitely don’t get what you pay for living here.

We were suppose to move in to the penthouse, however we couldn't see the apartment until the tent move out. The tent was due to move out in 2 months. When we go to finally see the apartment and finalize everything, the leasing lady I think her name is Amanda had told us the rent increased about 300 to 400 more. I'm like we did our application, put our deposit down and was waiting to see the apartment before we finalized the lease. Needless to say we never did get our money back, and we ended up not renting there because I felt like they were trying to take advantage of us. Look other places before signing here.

I have a relative living in this apartment building. Too many air conditioning, heat, electric, problems to live comfortably. The staff is not responsive. Don’t move here!
