Urban Tap and Distillery reviews
14Family friendly environment and the food/service was excellent. Smash burger was on point. Definitely recommend!
My wife and I have got take out twice, food and service was excellent both times. The urban bourbon burger is awesome, way better than other "chain" restaurant burgers (qsl), will for sure order more food.
Food was out of this world, service was great, and the atmosphere made us feel right at home
Great atmosphere with very good food. The portions were very large. Beer and cocktail selection was great. Highly recommend for dinner and a drink.
I gave it 3 stars because even though the food atmosphere and service were excellent, my drink price was way high. I'm a bourbon enthusiast and been to plenty of places that serve lower to high shelf as well as allocated. The prices of the allocated bourbon is practically extortion. 30$ for stagg and 65$ for Blantons special reserve as well as 50 for weller 12 or full proof are just some examples. That price is literally about a 500% markup of msrp prices and more than 300% markup of what is known as secondary prices. I'll stop in for food but my bourbon drinking will be done at home!
I'd had given it a 4 plus but 2 things brought down the vote, one in their control, one not.
The food was excellent! Service, excellent! Clean, yes! Alcoholic drinks are pricy but good, probably to keep people from getting too drunk.
But:
1. It is a open steel ceiling and it makes it incredibly loud. There were 2 large groups each side of us and it was so loud that by the time we left our ears were practically ringing. It was hard to hear waiter 3 feet away. They absolutely need sound deadening/absorbing material on their ceiling etc.
2. Out of their control: When we were leaving I was cautiously watching the parking lot. It's dark in Warren. Sure enough as soon as we got into the car a man appeared from around the building, quickly walked up to our car and asked to borrow a phone. Told my friend not to respond, back out quickly and leave and if he pulls a gun out of his pocket, duck down fast to give me line of site. Sad how you have to be extra careful just trying to have dinner and drinks in Warren.
So, yes I would definitely recommend this place but, during the day and when it's not busy.
We started with our side salads and Gouda bites. Both were great. I then had chicken parm and my mom had shrimp scampi, both were delicious. Our server Ben made sure our meal was perfect. He made sure we had everything we needed and he checked on us as needed.
Stopped to eat here before the John Waite concert at Robin's. Food and atmosphere excellent. I had a flatbread, my friend had a burger. Food and drinks arrived promptly. No waiting time. Will be back for sure.
Mallory was our server-she was AWESOME! Drinks, appetizers and food-all great. Try the mac n cheese appetizer!
Quality food and top notch drinks. Urban chic decor has a vibrant look that stands out in Warren.
The bar scene was very warm and welcoming. Walking in,
I was greeted by Mallory, and she was also my waitress. She was very friendly and willing to help me make a decision on what draft beer to order. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. When Mallory brought me my food, I must say I was impressed. The fries were a perfect blend of being crispy and deep-fried. The wrap, well, the wrap was, hands down, better than the lube's wrap! This wrap was crispy, and it kept the food together. The wrap was not soggy, and I was able to actually enjoy it. The lube's (Quaker steak and lube), on the other hand, has always been soggy and runny and not enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to try out their burgers.
The Wanton Tacos are on handheld menu section. They are appetizer grade in profile and size. The shredded chicken was seasoned to be flavorful but was chewy. Very small and not filling. The handcut fries are boss and have a great texture and robustness. In and out quick with friendly service and old garage and modern industrial decor to pass the time.
Too loud.had to yell to have a conversation.area a little jammed.cannot move without disturbing people behind you
Went down for their paws and pints day. Bring your dog and have some food/beer. Thought this would be great, another local place to bring your dog. However, that was not the case. They would not allow you to bring your dog inside. Had to stay outside in the cold, not what I was expecting for something called paws and pints. Besides that down fall I did enjoy the place. They had multiple beers on tap and the service they provided was good. Just wish the dogs could come inside
