2 I have never left a negative review before today. Everyone has bad days and I get that. The way I was treated by Dr. Siraj was unacceptable. I am only in my 30’s and have developed multiple oral ulcers that will not heal. My primary care doctor explained to me that can happen with things like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, etc. My primary care doctor put in the referral to see Dr. Siraj.
Across multiple visits with Dr. Siraj I experienced the following:
* Late to my appointment by 50 minutes, with no apology at all
* Lack of a physical examination for my primary symptoms
* Annoyance at my request to examine me, answer questions I had, and explain test results
* Inability to read my history or medical results that were provided to her.
I felt like this was the most transactional series of doctor appointments in my life. These office visits and tests cost a lot of money and of course there is risk anytime you go under anesthesia.
I had been looking forward to this appointment to get to talk to a specialist and try and get some answers. I got none of that. Instead, I received a lack of care and compassion that caused me to have mental and emotional distress that Dr. Siraj refused to acknowledge and ignored.
When speaking to a nurse at the practice she told me she has heard MULTIPLE complaints about Dr. Siraj and would never let her be her GI doctor.
In addition, her hurried bedside manner along with complete lack of empathy during my visits affected my mental health to an immeasurable degree. Dr. Siraj demonstrated no concern when I would be brought to tears at appointments with her. There was a clear lack of communication on the why of Dr. Siraj running multiple tests, with the full reasoning never being given and the results never being communicated directly to me unless I continuously followed up.
I felt it was important to share this because of the significant mental impact it had on me. With advice from my therapist, I discontinued care with Dr. Siraj. I do not want others to have the same prolonged experiences I had.
Dr Siraj was very kind and professional. The entire staff I encountered at Digestive Specialists were great!
