V2 Wine Bar and Trattoria by Vernon reviews
13Great food and great service. I stopped by looking for the famous Tank Cummings but instead I was honored to spend time with the famous Ralph Misko of Cambell OH. Truly an honor.
First timer. I hate to say it but my experience was sub-par to say the least. Friday night after work me and the guys decide to go downtown and grab a bite to eat. It was about 8: 30ish so I asked the hostess if we could get some food, she said yes and gave us a table. We ordered drinks and some appetizers. Two orders of crab cakes and an order of onion rings. They were cold. We didn't get silverware or napkins. I had to go ask for them. When the server brought the apps he said the kitchen is closing if you want food you have to order now. I should have saw the sign and just left. I didn't. I ordered a chicken and greens sandwich. It was hot but I'm pretty sure the chicken had been cooked and recooked, possibly more than once. It was so dry and tough that I couldn't pull it a part with my fingers. I didn't eat it and it was taken off my bill. When all was said and done I paid $30, bill and tip for a coke and one cold crab cake. I'll never go there again. Not because of the poor food quality but because after I sent it back the only one who I saw was the 20 something server who simply said "this had nothing to do with me it's the cooks". Nobody with any supervisory role bothered to come to our table and even try to make it right. They let me leave hungry and dissapointed.
After finally finding a parking space, only to be told "sorry we're closed" by the bartender when your website said open till 10
Fantastic! Phil and Sarah are amazing! From the Martini, the wings and that life altering crab cake! Hands down the best restaurant in Youngstown
V2 has become a downtown staple and favorite for the lunchtime crowd. Wood fired pizzas are delish and the meatball salad is enough food for lunch and dinner not to mention its a great choice for those watching their carb intake! The only little hiccup as it's a bit on the noisy side.everything echoes so hard to have a conversation when the restaurant is busy. I'm sure there is a solution to remedy this.
My wife and I made a last minute decision to eat dinner at the V2 Wine Bar.
The restaurant was very nice. Warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and responsive. Food and drinks were great. One
Our dinner was early; at 5 pm, in advance of an evening concert at the Youngstown Amphitheater.
We ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer. When asked, our server, Shelby, said there were on the smaller size. They were really good. Had a mild spice to them, which I like.
My wife ordered the meatball melt, which she raves about. I had the shrimp scampi, a special for the evening. The scampi was fresh and good but could have used a little more garlic. I would order it again.
My wife also ordered a lemontini and followed that with a pomegranate martini. I had a Makers and coke. The drinks were all really good.
The only detractor was the NOISE. IT WAS REALLY LOUD. Not a little loud…. A lot loud… to the extent that as soon as our dinner was complete, we couldn’t wait to get out.
It was good but the noise was nearly unbearable. We were seated in the front by the front door. It might be more tolerable in one of the back rooms.
Our bill was $95 which I consider very reasonable for the food and drinks ordered.
Great local spot! Food was top notch and spirit selection is great. Dessert was absolutely fantastic. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back!
The place is good. But please update the business hours on Google. It says it's open till 10 pm. And it has happened for five times that we tried to go as early as 8 pm and the doors were locked. This is such a frustrating experience. I get it when kitchen closes before the actual time posted but not letting people in is altogether different and happens quite often. Just update the business time saying it closes at 8 pm so that people won't waste their time.
Table was practically falling over, and the server brought us menus and never returned. He walked around all over the whole time, and served tables all over the place, but not us. We left after waiting for 15 minutes and not even being able to order drinks.
I came here based on the recommendation of a friend, it was fairly slow, but after looking at a menu and waiting about 5 minutes unnoticed decided to leave and go next door to west 34, where they noticed me right away and the food and drinks were great. (2 stars for V2 because I never actually got to try anything-maybe next time)
What a fantastic place in downtown Youngstown. The food was so fresh and so tasty. It was incredible. If you’re ever in downtown Youngstown or near the area, you have to go to V2 restaurant. Great service, great atmosphere, great ownership.
Me and my wife accidentally ate here while we were looking for the federal. It was noticeably disappointing. There was a fake eyelash on the floor underneath where i was sitting and it was gross. My wife ordered the shrimp Alfredo, the shrimp was hard and overcooked, as was my v2 burger. Nothing was awful but at the same time it definitely wasn’t worth the 70$ we paid. You can get the same experience at any fast food joint. My wife got ill later that night. Unsure if it’s related but worth noting.
An absolute favorite place to do in for a beer (excellent selection of craft draft) and a bunch of appetizers to share. Wings and hummus are excellent
