Van Buren State Park reviews
16Nice, quiet state park with good hiking options. Only issue is the park could use better signage (hiking trails, dump station location), and better water pressure at the potable water fill up.
My husband & I brought the dog here to hike the trails. The trails aren't bad but, they're not marked well at all.
It s a hidden state park thats in the middle of farm country. It even has a campground where you can stay for up to two weeks in the nature. It's quite and the trails are nice and walkable, albeit a bit unmantained and difficult for foot traffic at times. I'd come back to this park when I'm in the area.
We use equine camping and trails. You get a little of everything. Flat ground, hills, and water. Its a good spot for training new riders and green horses.
Nice clean park. Wasn't crowded when we were there. Had drop toilets and no bath house. The camp host told me that they expect to get city water/sewer and build bath houses in the next 2-3 years. If you can do without a shower for a day or two, Go.
The Van Buren state park is nice and kept very clean! And there is something for all to enjoy there!
Loved this peaceful little park. We got an equestrian campsite. Very big lot with woods all around. We had the place to ourselves for 5 days.
Stopped in too eat lunch at the park with my kids. Playground was meh buy the scenery was nice.
Wanted to take the dog to the dog park but it was occupied by a somewhat aggressive dog so we skipped it.
A great scenic stop and the trails I've walked were nice.
Quiet place. For camping, only power at sites. Clean latrines. We were in the area for camping, not daytime use.
Nice park. Not a ton of things to do or see unless you are into hiking or horseback riding.
Was looking for a Handicapped Fishing Area but the Lake has a steep decline to the water and a very small fishing front. Rocks adorn a prime fishing spot so this park won't suit my needs. However, if you are in good shape, then this is a beautiful lake with fish everywhere! Parking is good, bathrooms close, and great walking!
This is a very nice, well maintained park. The trails are easy and the park has several of them. There are also playgrounds and the typical park-style restrooms.
Took our horses and had a wonderful ride! You can see a lot of work has been done to improve the trails! Keep it up!
No more walk ins, so no more self serve check-ins, must register online, but the park itself is fine. 50 amp service, water from a spigot at the entry of the loop
Great little Park. Very well-maintained and plenty of things to do. They do have a dog park and a disc golf course. Great place for a picnic. Plenty of tables and on-site charcoal.
Hiking was alright, i would not recommend going here for biking. The bike trails are poorly build and very poorly labled, there are several areas that have had bad erosion and are not rideable. The trail markings are confusing because there are two many forks where the trail merges and spliys without warning.
