WALKAbOUT Creek Campground reviews
14Such a beautiful campground, well taken care of and wonderful people. Perfect place to escape to for the weekend! Running water (camp shower and bathroom), rec room with arcade machine, air hockey and TV, shelterhouse for events with large fire pit, beautiful ponds, wifi, catch and release. I’m anxious to come back!
Very welcoming staff well maintenance still work in progress but nice little place especially if you have horses but not necessary we did not but it is a horseman camp has electric on site and a dump station for black tank and gray tank no trash services it is a pack in pack out which I did not know until I came here so now I'm passing it along
Cute, sweet little place for a four day getaway! Getting here isn’t bad at all, pretty much any car will make it through, but be warned.the roads in the area aren’t for every car! Many steep gravel roads throughout.it is a state park in foothill-style roads, but the camp is SOOO peaceful at night! Especially love the sweetie pie camp kitty that just kinda adopted us for the four days we were there! The man running the place, Josh is super sweet and the place is definitely a passion for them! We will very likely be back!
Wow, what an impressive place to stay! I was very pleasantly surprised that they had free WiFi. I saw lots of wildlife during my stay including: red-tailed hawks, barn owls, white-tailed deer, and wild turkey's. But my favorite animal was Maze, the camp-ground cat, she is beyond friendly loves a good pet. There is even a Y shaped bridge that is similar to the unique Y shaped bridge in Zanesville!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. There were hiking trails close by, a pond to fish in and even an off leash area for our dogs. It was so peaceful and relaxing, I was surprised they even had wifi. I can't wait to book another stay with the whole family next time.
Wonderful experience through and through. Carl the owner is attentive to anything and above that you would need. We decided to check it out since it was near The Wilds; and it was the perfect spot for our family. Can’t wait to go back!
Gorgeous campground and perfect for a nice family trip. The owner Carl was also extremely helpful. 10/10 will be recommending to all my family and friends.
This is a beautiful campground with lots of upgrades being made! Great scenery and the perfect place for a small getaway. Definitely worth checking out!
Walkabout campground has come a long way! The scenery is gorgeous, plenty of activities and close to a town with necessities! It’s a calm, relaxing stay every time. Carl is a very helpful young man! I highly recommend staying awhile.
Walkabout is a very family friendly place and the owner does an amazing job taking care of it! He has done a lot of improvements and is still always improving. That shows a lot of dedication to making everyone's camping experience the very best it can be! I love how beautiful the place is and how close to nature you get to be! The customer service is great! Thank you very much to the owner for making everyone's camping experience memorable! I will definitely be back with my family!
I’m not going to lie. I really thought this place was a run of the mill campground but it wasn’t.
It was a fantastic camp site! There was hiking trails access. While hiking in the park I noticed that the area is so beautiful it hurts.
I stayed in one of the adorable cabins, it had three beds but I only used one. It was so comfortable, the bed even came with sheets and the room had a mini fridge and a coffee pot. It was luxurious. The cabin doesn’t have indoors plumbing but the lavatories are kept very clean.
I also was able to visit a nearby beach and went on a Safari at the Wilds. I definitely recommend exploring the area if you can.
My only regret was not being able to fish, I didn’t bring or buy a rod, but that’s a must do for next time.
There’s a nearby hunting area so if you’re looking for lodging while hunting then you’ve found the perfect spot.
The campsite also hosted a Fourth of July event and had a huge bonfire and cookout. It was spectacular. Sparklers galore.
I can’t wait to return and try to do more in the area. Hope this review helps.
Walkabout Creek is an excellent place to stay! Carl was very helpful and was there for anything that we needed. Our horses enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We plan on visiting soon!
Great place away from the city for a nice relaxing getaway! I see myself making many trips to come out here to stay.
