Zero stars should be an option. This is the most unprofessional scam of a company I have ever known. Do not do business with this company, and specifically amanda Lawrence. From the beginning they knew about the loan company for the house build that was supposed to used. Before the contract was even signed wayne homes KNEW what lender was planned on being used. Knowing that, they still had us sign a contract knowing what lender we were going with. They failed to tell us until everything was done with paperwork that the lender we planned to use that they would not work with. Then tried forcing us into using their lender, premier. Multiple calls and emails went unanswered. Would not provide proof via email that they would not work with the lender. Amanda then accidentally butt dialed and was speaking very negatively and unprofessionally about us to her boss which we heard every word of their conversation and she had no idea. This company is worthless and is a scam. If this stuff happens just trying to finance a house, imagine that's going on behind your back during the build! Not to mention nowhere in this contract does it say we had to use a specific lender, nor is there a list of any lenders they wouldn't or couldn't use. They refuse to give back the money we put down to "secure" and want us to back out when it's them that needs to back out due to not using our lender and no where in the contract we signed stating that. Do your research before using this company, they should not even be in business.

I wish I could leave zero stars. Wayne Homes doesn't even deserve one. My husband and I were so excited to build our family dream home and they truly destroyed it. We were told we could work with ANY lender, we had multiple appointments, spent gobs amount of time picking out everything. We were approved for a low interest rate through the bank of our choosing. We gave Wayne their money and signed the contract with Wayne fully knowing who our lender was. 2 weeks later the "Sales Manager" Amanda Lawrence nonchalantly told us that we cannot use the bank we chose. We were then steered toward the bank of their choosing, which is illegal. Their bank was only able to give us a higher interest rate which would have increased our monthly mortgage payment by hundreds of dollars.all because of their mess up that they didnt want to fix. Check out the BBB page on Wayne Homes. It's horrendous. It's so awful that these people think they can get away with being crooks. Do NOT go here and get scammed like I did.

Talks negatively about customers behind the scenes. Poor and unprofessional while conducting business matters.

DO NOT USE WAYNE HOMES! Very unprofessional. They will drag you along until it comes times to finance then they will force you to use a bank that they choose. High interest rates. There are plenty of other builders in the area take your business elsewhere.

Future customers should prepare for an uphill battle when using Wayne Homes. As evidenced by our Daughter and Son-in-Law’s dilemma, they signed the contract, made a deposit, obtained financing through a bank of their choosing, selected a Wayne Home, purchased land, and awaited Wayne Home’s plans to be provided for approval by the bank. Numerous requests for plans went unanswered, until Wayne Homes Sales Manager verbally stated that Wayne Homes could not work with the bank, even though no exclusion was stated in the contract. The Sales Manager instead steered them towards Wayne Home’s preferred lender, at a considerably higher rate. Excessive delays ensued, with no progress, thereby jeopardizing the rate lock for their bank. To date, this is unresolved. In conclusion, selection of another builder is recommended.

They will not work with your bank after saying you can use "ANY" bank. They are trying to get me to use another bank at a way higher intrest rate. Now they are deciding to pull out of contract with me, the customer! I also have a recording of Amanda Lawrence the " regional sales manager " trash talking me due to a pocket dial!

Wayne Homes was very customer friendly from beginning to end. Their staff was easy to work with and ensured we got what we were looking for. When needed, they would provide suggestions to help guide our decisions during the design phase. Our Construction Manager Kyle Phillips was tremendous at communicating through all phases of the process and was responsive to questions or concerns. He worked to find solutions when certain materials or supplies were limited.

Excellent Staff from top to bottom. Stopped in for a quick visit while passing through. Spoke with Cassie and Brad who were both great and extremely helpful. Even asked the nice lady who looked like she was in a meeting a few questions and she didn't hesitate to stop and help me as well!

From the moment we started this process we have had nothing but support, advice and encouragement to build the house of our dreams. Cassie was the lady who helped us pick out our design and customize the lay out to what we wanted. It was SO easy working with her! She was very friendly, accessible when I had questions, had good feedback, and was knowledgeable. After we got the blueprints situated we got sent to the next step which is "colors" with Pam. She was refreshing and very experienced. She showed us combinations of things that looked best and was honest when something we picked didn't mesh or could conflict with other choices. That is what we wanted from her. She has like 25 years in at Wayne Homes and it shows! She is great! After we were done with colors we get assigned our field manager Doug (he has been there for a long time also) who was going to confirm grade, give us our dig date and organize the crew to build our house. He was friendly, funny, accessible, knowledgeable and flexible with scheduling when we had to meet up or look at the progress of the house. We had Doug for the whole build and I couldn't be more happier with how our home turned out. It was SUCH AN EASY process because each one of these team members did such a good job at building us a quality home.

We also built our home in lake community that has an HOA and Doug did a fabulous job appeasing the members and making sure all of their rules and regulations were followed. It made things so much easier for us and less stress. We had some things we had to handle directly with the HOA but that is normal stuff like getting permits submitted directly to them.

Went with my girlfriend to start the first steps of constructing a house. We toured the model homes then spent over an hour talking to Jeremy. Jeremy was absolutely FANTASTIC, was more helpful than we could have ever imagined, and answered all of our questions and even questions we didn't have. He was fantastic and I highly recommend Wayne homes and specifically Jeremy.

Our experience with Wayne Homes was awesome from start to finish! We loved working with Tim Rush. He touched base with my husband every week to let us know where we were at on the build. He was so knowledgeable & friendly. This was the first house we built so we didn’t know what to expect! Tim did an excellent making sure it was an amazing experience for us! We also enjoyed working with Pam Boreman! She was always so pleasant to talk to. She also made our first experience so enjoyable! When we met other her at the Ashland office she made us feel right at home. I just can’t say enough about both of them.

I never thought building our dream home would become such a nightmare! We chose Wayne Homes to build our custom home because they promised they could and would provide us with exactly what we wanted and would always work with us. Unfortunately, approximately 30 days into the build, we feel regretful for giving our money to Wayne Homes as we see that changes can be made after the dig date by Wayne employees but when it is at the request of the home owners we are advised no changes can be made and if any are allowed, be prepared to pay triple the cost for changes. This was something that was advised by others that have built so we were sure to go through everything with our contact. So changes were made and the ball starts rolling. We patiently waited for a date to receive and or review the prints before our dig date but were advised the prints were lost and unable to locate. Time wasn't left now to review final prints but again, we were advised everything was great and not to worry. We visited the site multiple times during the dig process and stumbled upon something that wasn't right. We had extended our master bedroom 4 feet to have an access door to the back patio. When I saw it I noticed that the unfinished patio was visibly too small with two doorways and requested an additional 4 feet to be added in length. We were advised we have two options, not completing the patio area and LOSING our money as "NO CREDITS" can be applied to the account after the dig date (which contradicts a credit applied after the dig date by Wayne as an employee of Wayne forgot to put the change order in before the closing of our loan and dig date) OR pay an additional 7K to add the 4 feet to the patio and slightly extend the area to be covered. So, if we don't have work done after the dig, you still pay for labor and materials at the inflated cost because we noticed an error after the dig vs the error being noticed by a Wayne employee. This leaves us with an expensive covered patio that can hold two folding chairs UNLESS we pay $6,800.00 to add 4 feet in diameter to compensate the 4 feet we lost by adding the additional footage to our master bedroom.all of which we can't even see how they have come up with this number because it is "proprietary"? ! Work with us? Everything will be fine? I see Wayne has a five star rating. I'll assume these reviews were made by home owners that had the opportunity to not only review final prints before dig but were advised how additional footage on rooms could impact exterior attachments. We are paying for their design "experts" lack of advisement. So with all of the people reviewing the designs, NO ONE caught this blatant screw up? ! All my wife and I want to know is how they are coming up with this number and to resolve this amicably. Guess we are getting the short end of the stick on this one. It's ridiculous! Unhappy Customer and we aren't even through framing!

I was very pleased with the whole process of getting my home built. I went to the Jeromesville office and worked with Jeremy on getting the contract for the home. I worked with Pam for the selections I had for the home. I worked with Julia when I needed to get permits then I finished the process with Julie on my homesite allowances. I was full of questions and every one of them answered every question that I had and I owe them all a big thank you. I want to thank Tim who was the construction manager and he was wonderful he kept in touch with me on every phase of the building of my home. I even had an instance after I moved in where I needed the warranty staff and they were great and the problem was resolved in a quick manner. My experience with Wayne Homes was wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a home built.

My wife and I couldn't be more happy with our new home. Stacy was great to work with out of the Ashland office. We called her constantly with questions and changed floor plans several times. She always got back to us quickly and was always happy to help. Our construction manager, Butch, was great. He made sure that the work was done right and on schedule. We got into the house two weeks prior than promised. He made sure the house was done before my wife gave birth, which he did. Our house is amazing and this experience was so much better than my experience building a home 15 years ago with a competitor. I don't plan on ever moving again, but I would build with Wayne Homes if I do.
