I am very concerned with this facility being understaffed and unclean. When I arrived at the facility, there was no one at the front desk. While I was trying to enter the front door, the alarm went off. The loud alarm went off for several minutes until I could find a staff member to assist. Once I finally got to my mother’s room, which has been moved at least three times in the past 12 months, the floor was sticky. I noticed that my mother dropped her notepad and it was drenched in an unknown liquid. This isn’t the first time that her room and bathroom have been unclean. However, whenever I do visit the staff I do encounter is helpful and kind.

This nursing home is not good at all. My mother calls me often to tell me about the food how it's prepared, not seasoned or not cooked through. The conditions in the winter. As of now we are having a winter storm and there is no heat for the seniors there. I've called to try and get some help. But since Christmas is around the corner, not much help I can get. Just praying!

I feel that Wickliffe Country Place is not representing its residents accordingly, in an upstanding manner. And many are frustrated & saddened.

Every visit my brother's hands and face is filthy and his beard is always full of food. He is not being cleaned properly. Every time I come to shave him, such as today, (Dec. 31st), His hair is never washed. His ears were so dirty the cloth which I used, was absolutely disgusting. His beard was so nasty it had to be scrubbed in order to shave him. His left hand is partially in a closed position. Apparent the aides could care less regarding cleaning it. The stench almost made me vomit, even with the mask on my face. He at times cannot use the right hand, when he struggles and manages to pick up food and feed himself his hands should be cleaned multiple times daily. Why have this conversation been ongoing since his first week?

I see that another person complained of the horrible food that the board or whomever thinks is good for our family members. The menu has changed drastically. Your facility is serving so much peanut butter and jelly sandwiches it is appalling. When my brother first came to Wickliffe. I was assured that certain foods would be available to him. He does not eat veggies, and personally I feel this is a total waste of money, that could be used for better quality foods. I would like to ask how difficult is it for the kitchen to slightly warm up any sandwiches served to him. They are always, always ice cold. And I did not ask to have it heated up so long that it disintegrates in the microwave. That would be greatly appreciated.

When I am visiting, often I hear residents complaining of hunger. This is a big problem at the lower income status nursing home.if you can't provide good base line service's to the people whom you collect their monies, perhaps you need to include some of the family members in a monthly meeting with your key personnel to generate suggestions that the board members, or whomever approves such criteria can take a serious look at these serious problems/issues. And work towards a positive resolve. Also, I plan on leaving additional food items for my brother, such as canned chilli, beans and weiners, lunch meat sandwiches, instant oatmeal and grits and so forth. These are easy and fast to prepare. It will only take the aides a few minutes. Does any of your residents have small refrigerators in their rooms? This may work out very favorable for my family member there at Wickliffe Country Place.

It would appreciated if the soap dispenser in my brother's rest room could be replaced. It is broken, the top was removes to access the liquid soap in which to wash him with. The pump mechanism has not worked since he was placed there.

At times I am coming into my brother's room. The cleaning lady is leaving out. Every time, I must ask her to return to the room and sweep up the food she just didn't not care to clean up.on other occasions I have removed the broom and dust pan from the cart and swept the room myself. My brother told me, she's doing the best she can. So with that being said, if the facility could provide me with a broom and dust pan for his room, that would be great. If not, please let know.

On many occasions I was asked not to call the state. I was asked to give Wickliffe an opportunity to fix it. That's not happening.

Let me share, you do have some fantastic aides, nurses, all around staff. Such as the lady in the laundry room. Please forgive me for not recalling her name at this moment. She is indeed someone that does her job and beyond. Someone the board and others wouldn't give a first or second thought of.
They should be giving her a thank gift card or something she could use. At least every quarter of the year. You may think she is easily replaceable. No.

It would be nice to see your aides not on their personal phone 75% of the time. Sitting around on the phones, when they should be if the very least just checking on the residents whom are unable to care for themselves. The very reason we entrusted you to care for them!

There is trash in the halls and only one nurse for a hallway of patients. The alarm went off and the staff didn't know the code to turn it off. My mom was not served lunch until I asked about it 2 hours later.

I feel that things should be better like paying more attention to the resident. Feeding them better food Because on Christmas day a lot of resident didn't get there right food they got rice mixed vegetables and stuffing no meat. Only
two people on shift no activity. Not very happy with this facility.

Was a little taken back that when we arrived my mother's welcome basket hadn't even been offered or opened for her. She had already been there on her 2nd day. No hygiene offered, no care given. Just literally rotting in bed like the stereotypical nursing home look.

One nurse per. Resident isn't cool. But for my 1st visit my Dad was handled with care. Hopefully the facility can aquire more staffing, But so far so good.

Although it’s never enjoyable putting a loved one in a nursing home, Wickliffe Country Place helped make this experience as painless as possible. The staff was very nice and helpful and the care was good.

First full day my mother was there for physical rehab and no one there even bothered to put her things away or put them with reach distance for her. She us bed ridden with no means to get anything. The staff is very UNFRIENDLY. Called to get information and was told "I don't know that's what they tell us to say", are you kidding me. Horrible place! Getting her out as soon as she can get out of that bed. Not one patient looked even remotely happy to be there.

The facility was clean But Your Staff wasn't Professional at all
There wasn't anyone supervising resident sitting alone No aides around anywhere When I asked the Nurse she said she didn't know where the aide for my sister was talking all DRY and Unconcern hall lights blinking unattended

Friendly, efficient but the carpet is horrendous and desperately needs to be replaced or vinyl put down. So sad. The whole environment needs brightening and color.
