Winton Woods Campground reviews
18Nice campground except they have no water pressure. If you have family near by you might want to impose on them for a shower.
Winton woods has a great location, the spaces are pretty spaces out between each camp site. We had one that backed up to the lake which had privacy bushes behind us and the trees where perfect for hammock. The trees however were infested with termites which I jad to spray around the tree to keep them there!
Also if your looking for a quiet camp ground this place is NOT it. Kids playing and yelling at 6am and people playing music/bass at 1am-2am in the morning.
The campsite needed to be mowed. The grass was high. The fire pit had garbage in it and wasn't cleaned out. Not a park ranger in sight the entire weekend.
There was a large party with extremely loud music well after quiet hours.
The campground isn't what it used to be.
Do better!
Electric only, but a common area with water and dump site available. Kinda small sites that are fairly close, but lots of trees and grass and right on the lake. Would definitely recommend as either an overnight while traveling thru or a close in the city spot to go kayaking or fishing. Excellent people at check in, good map.
So, I gave this campground 3 stars. Rooms I related to the lot, service was at the camp store and amenities in the campground and location was proximity to the area.
Main concern is how over priced the campground is now. Full hook ups with concrete pads should not be $60 a night for the limited campground amenities available. No pool, only one kids area, small at best. It is clean, some sites are very close together and others aren’t. Bathhouse is ok. It appears to maintained throughout the day but overall seems a little run down and aging. Not great.
This is not a State park but a Hamilton County run campground. The remainder of the park does offer additional amenities at an a la cart/per amenity basis.
Just got through with this beautiful campground and let me tell it's absolutely stunning! Got to get the props to the cleaning crew of the bathroom/showers let me tell you the cleanest around! Seen them multiple times at all hours of the day and night cleaning them!
This campground is IN town, which is fine for tents and small campers, but it's a real pain for large 5th wheels. Once you are in, there is no water at the sites. You just need to fill your tank at one of the available hydrants. My biggest complaint was several of the local campers thought we ALL needed to hear their favorite music for half the night. I think the in-city location draws that crowd.
Wonderful campground. Stay a week or more every year when visiting our daughter that goes to UC. Convenient location. Wonderful park system around it. Nice sites. Mentioned to them that the shower curtains had mildew on them and the shower rings were completely rusted. Voila.new curtains and rings within 24 hours! Fantastic job! They have always had recycle bins but now offer composting buckets to borrow and dump when checking out! Love it! We were there for 10 days and headed to Cowen Lake to camp for another week. Was able to dump my recycles AND my compost! Will always stay here when in the area. Only request now is for a kayak launch in the campground.
Great campground close to the city. Very clean washrooms and good size sites. We stayed here because we had tickets to a Reds game. Great location, good price and friendly service. We will definitely be back!
Employees are kind and helpful, camp sites and restrooms are clean. Love visiting the park every time.
We camp and Winton Woods Campground several times a year love it great family place to be the restroom shower house are always very clean.
When I'm in Cincinnati, this is my favorite place to stay. The staff is very friendly and Ranger Justin.
Very nice campsite. Good bathrooms, nice flat site with a fire ring, table, and outlets. Good price and the staff were friendly and helpful too. 10/10
This campground was very nice. Nice full hookup paved sites under Huge pine trees. Not all sites were full hookups however. Many were gravel and not as nice as paved sites.
Very nice flat paved walking and biking paths.
You can rent bicycles, motor boats, pontoon boats, row boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats. Beautiful lake for boating on too.
Reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there was no swimming anywhere in Winton Woods. Nothing. No pools and no swimming in the lake allowed. There is a little water splash area for the kids.
Great campground with mix of full hookup sites that are closer together or more primitive (electric only) sites that are a little more spread out and with tree cover and a few that have a view of the water. Unfortunately there is not a lake view on the majority of sites because of the high vegetation. There are great paved trails to walk and bike along the edge of the lake and beyond. Can also bring your on kayak or paddle boards to play on the lake.
I love Winton Woods campground! I've camped there many times over the years. For a 'city' campground it is very nice and alot of spots are on the water (lake). I'd highly recommend any camper go there, you'll have a wonderful experience)
We came to Cincinnati with a very sick husband and and elderly dog. Then my sister had three trips to the emergency room. My dog passed away, my husband was very sick and my sister had many issues. The manager at Winton Woods, Sue, and all of her staff were so very helpful to us in accommodating us until my husband could drive th RV again. We could not have asked for better understanding. Ty
I did not stay here, but had the pleasure of talking with Carol. She bent over backwards trying to find me a spot, or spots to stay for 12 days. It was during the very busy summer season. Even though it didn't work out, I will definitely try to stay here again based on her service! We'll done Carol.
