Zion Retreat & RV Park reviews
18We could not get to the campground. We had no signal to load the directions to it. Our GPS and maps took us on a 4 mile long dirt road that our 30 foot RV could not negotiate. When we finally got a signal, we called them they said "you should have used what we sent you" and hung up. Not what we expected from a Retreat! They did not offer to be give us alternate directions. We stayed at a local state park for the same cost. We will never return to this campground.
Nice place to gather with family and friends, private setting. Enjoy the outdoor adventures at the lake or just relax to BBQ with friends.
Came out for a work retreat and had so much fun! The staff was super friendly, and the area was super beautiful! The cabins are pet friendly as well, I highly recommend checking this place out if you're trying to get out if town but not go too far! They have zip lining into the water, swimming, kayaking, boating, a football field, and so much more! And for being out in the country, it's very clean! Can't wait to book with my family and friends
This was my second stay at Zion and this stay was even better than before. We stayed in the rustic cabins as we wanted something simple and relaxing (and I wanted to wake up and walk out the door to a view of the lake). 2 adults, a 7 year old and a large dog fit very comfortably in the cabins.
There are so many options for fun at Zion; trampoline in the swimming lake, fishing and kayaking in the big lake, nature trails and so much more. It's calm and inexpensive, definitely going a lot more often.
Courteous and fast-responding staff; beautiful scenic hiking trails; clean and beautiful cabins; great fishing; wonderful swimming area! There's so much to do for a getaway and plan a wedding there!
What a awful stay yesterday, (long term lot) next to us partied all night long yelling, loud music Very rude!
Dog was running around no leash, Beer cans everywhere. Used our electric for his bug zapper didn't even ask us. Roads are terrible to get in the park! We wouldn't go back! Grass wasn't even mowed.charged $50 for a night, left at 6 am. Didn't expect that kind of people at this resort.money talks tho.
One of the best campgrounds in the USA! Great facilities, decent internet, beautiful setting with sites right on the lake. Excellent fishing and very reasonable pricing.
We had my sons 16th birthday party at Deer Cabin and it was a great turn out. He had 10 of his friends stay as well, the basement area was perfect for them to hang out and there was plenty of of room for them to sleep.it will definately be a night he will remember, Thank you Zion!
My church pastor is on their board. Our church has come out here for a cookout and for the kids to zip line down into 1 of the small lakes. There are small houses on property to stay for the weekend and look very nice. Most the roads are gravel except at the ramp by main office which is concrete. There is a code to get to make the arm go up for entrance to the retreat. Great nature area. Has mutiple small lakes. 1 with a small boat ramp and pavilion. Also myself and cousin came out here geocaching the other day, there are 4 or so caches in this area.
Absolutely best camp ground around here and probably in all of Ohio. No rangers being mean, everyone is so so friendly and nice. So much to do too.
Booked a rustic cabin. Was very nice! They even served pancakes and sausage for breakfast. The staff was nice and it was a good place to kayak and fish.
My family has utilized Zion for 4 weekends in a row. First a baseball team picnic with rustic cabin over night. Then a Leader retreat / Leader Family day for our American Heritage girls troop in the luxury cabin. Then we had a labor day weekend with friends in the luxury cabins. And last for my daughters 16th birthday party at a luxury cabin. Through out the month we fished, swam, zip lined, played volleyball and at play ground, walk the trail and did the mini zip line, campfires. Every weekend was so much fun and as always looking forward to going back!
Amazingly peaceful and quiet place. Beautiful views everywhere you look. We watched Deer and turkeys grazing on the hillsides. Lots of peaceful ponds to float or fish. Sites were a tad close, think KOA close. Otherwise we'd give 5 stars! We will be back.
I love that the Zion staff loves being at Zion even on their days off. From hiding geocaches (and maintaining them), hiking the trails, kayaking, swimming, staying in a cabin for a birthday celebration and visiting friends in the RV park.
We were so surprised and pleased to discover Zion. This was our first trip with our new popup camper and we had no idea what we were doing, nor could we find a spot anywhere in three states for Labor Day camping. We were thrilled to find a spot here. When I called to ask if our little popup was permitted, they said sure, we can accommodate you. When I forgot to ask for firewood until the very last minute, they said no problem. And when my kid wanted to aqua zip but was hesitant, they let him zip one time just to make sure he was going to like it before we paid for an hour of zipping. (He did and the zip staff was so kind and friendly.) Everyone was helpful and easy-going, and we will definitely be back. FYI: If you like the quieter end of the RV park, go for sites 1-6 or 55-60.
My family and I had a weekend getaway at Zion Christian retreat. Beautiful place! Peaceful and relaxing which is what we needed! Lots of wildlife, fun things to do with the kids. RV lots are spacious and clean. Facilities are clean. Thanks Zion for a relaxing weekend!
I would recommend this retreat for anyone who needed some time away from their busy life to do some soul searching, or just to spend time with the people you love the most. The cabins were very comfortable and the accommodations made you feel like you were at home. Exactly what I needed!
We were here for a winter retreat for our church, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the facilities were perfect.
