Pack rat is so understaffed that they couldn’t deliver my storage pod for an entire month: an entire month that i was paying for two storage pods plus the insurance on them: so about $500. They said because I had tree branches high in my driveway they couldn’t place it there, and put it instead on the street, which is fine. But this meant I could only have one storage container delivered at that time. We emptied it in a week, and even though I had booked the empty container pick up a couple weeks before it was dropped off, they still couldn’t pick it up for over a week. The same issue happened with the second container with delayed delivery and pick up. In addition to this, their website is awful and would frequently have issues where signing in wouldn’t work (I had to call them and they ended up having to talk to their tech team before I could log in), and once this was resolved, the website would frequently say that scheduling a pick up was not available. I would then have to wait until business hours to call to schedule. They weren’t able to schedule a pick up until 3 days after the next billing cycle started: so they charged me not only for the MONTHS I had to wait for them to have enough staff to deliver my stuff, but they also charged me for basically an entire month of a container that they had already taken back, which feels fraudulent: paying for services not rendered, and paying for their lack of staff. I spoke on the phone to resolve this and they just told me I’m out of luck, basically, and said they don’t prorate and won’t do anything about the fact that they couldn’t deliver my stuff (which cost me tons of money in having to rebuy things in my storage unit that I needed right away, since I didn’t anticipate having to wait an entire extra month to access my stuff). I tried emailing and they just ignored my email. This place has shady business practices in my opinion, and unfairly charged me about $1,000 because of these issues.

In addition to all of this, some drivers are better than others, and even though they dropped off a container in my driveway (of my old house) and picked up when it was full, they told me with the second container that it was “impossible” to put it in my driveway and basically accused me of lying when I said they put the last container in that same exact spot. They ended up putting it on the street and refused to put it in my driveway. I didn’t have a street permit for the container and I ended up having to pay hundreds to have movers help me load it up quickly to have it picked up in a couple days so I wouldn’t get fined by the city. The fact that I’ve paid thousands for their services should mean that maybe they could be reasonable and at the very least refund me for the time that they couldn’t deliver my stuff, and for the time where they already had their container back but continued to charge me for 27 days of that time. Absolutely unacceptable and I will never use them again and I will never recommend them. Try somewhere else for your storage needs, as most other companies prorate your storage fees and are not booked out a month to give you your stuff back.

Finally, their promo codes are scams as they charged me different prices for each of my containers and the price shot up very high after the first month: about $50 more every month than the competitor (which I used last time I needed storage), and the actual dimensions of the inside of the unit was smaller than the other company, as furniture that fit vertically in the other brand did not fit vertically in packrat’s container that is supposedly the same size.

I gave 2 stars because the staff was overall nice & can’t personally do anything about those issues: the higher ups need to address those issues. I did eventually get my stuff back as promised, which is the very basic of what they should be doing, so I’ll give them credit for that. Another heads up is that they call while I’m at work, & if I couldn’t get to the phone they said they wouldn’t have delivered my container because they need to confirm again

I can't stop raving about how exceptional the customer service is when it comes to one of their delivery drivers David. He was pleasantly upbeat & very informative & knowledgeable when it came to answering all my questions. Have nothing but good to say.

What a miserable moving experience! I was charged $300 more than the quoted price. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone, UNLESS you are booking a new move, in which case they answer promptly. You can literally stay on hold for an hour with no response. They basically need a space the size of an empty Walmart parking lot to drop off your box. The sales people clearly have no clue about the business because they over-promise and under-deliver. I would absolutely not recommend using this moving company. It has been complete chaos and inaccurate information from beginning to middle (as I still don't have my belongings).

The unit arrived close to 10 pm during the week making a lot of noise for the residents. It was dropped off with various holes in it that were not repaired after I complained. When the unit arrived at my new residence, the holes were still not fixed. I contacted customer service 2 times and stayed on between 45 minutes to 1.20 hours each time.

Used this local branch as a Zippyshell customer to have a pod delivered in Portland. The owners were great to deal with: friendly, timely, and professional.

3rd time we have used them! They are always friendly and professional. We will continue to use packrat for moving. We have used moving companies in the past and found them to be rude and sometimes days late. Never a late pod! Thank you and keep up the great work.

I was pretty happy until they called and wanted the container back three days earlier than the contract said. I called customer service and was told to put my number on a call back and they would call me back. They never did. I was out of town when the driver called so I had to rush back. Very disappointed and upset. Next time I will use PODS. I used PODS before this company and was totally happy. I just wanted to try someone different. Will not do that again for sure. I am still trying to get hold of customer service two days later. Like I said in the beginning it was good. But after you get a container you are not important to them.

We got the pod delivered, they had it on backwards so we had to let the guy know not to put it on our property backwards. READ THE SMALL PRINT! Put a tarp on top! I had went with them and thought it would be great for storage nice and dry and accessible. Little did we know there was a leak on top where it has damaged a big mirror and a dresser.and probably more we have yet to empty it out.you can see the tape they put on the inside of the ceiling.
Small print say they are not responsible for leaks or rats or whatever and not yo store valuable in them.umm isn't that what you store in them normally? ! Especially when you are moving where else would you?
