Portlanders are lucky to have 1201 Computer Repair in their backyard. They are helpful, professional and charge reasonable fees. Chris is extremely helpful in troubleshooting some issues with my PC. I highly recommend 1201 Computer Repair much much more over Geek Squad which was a huge disappointment for me.

My monitor was intermittently going black, and after spending hours trying to figure out the cause I gave up and brought my computer to 1201 after reading their reviews. Everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and they quickly diagnosed the problem. They also suggested a simple low-cost fix. Very impressed with this business - I'll never go to anywhere else for repairs (or my next computer).

1201 is a LIFESAVER! My PC started making a horrifying buzzing sound really suddenly and I stopped using it and took it in. They gave me a clear breakdown of what they would do, the price points they usually had, and how long it would take. Their work was completely within that timeframe and they offered me other things they could do that would improve my laptop’s lifespan. It turns out that my fans were failing and my laptop was running DANGEROUSLY hot. So pleased with their work.

I love these guys! They've built excellent custom computers for me for business use - all the stuff I need with none of the extra junk I don't need. They are my go-to when I'm having computer issues.

After an initial fantastic experience, I returned with a second work device for repair. The online scheduling is so easy, they are very affordable and best of all I have had two MacBook's returned back to life. The staff are so friendly, they will be my go to for future services!

For both new builds and repair of our fleet of desktops they have been honest, good to work with, and responsive. Can't speak too highly of them.

Fantastic service at 1201! I stopped in hoping I could buy a needed accessory for my computer and they went above and beyond in helping find a no cost solution. All in the spirit of community and helping a fellow human out. 5 stars is not nearly enough.

These people are FANTASTIC. I have had the benefit of their great expertise twice. The first time (4 years ago) they rescued my laptop after water was spilled on the keyboard. Their work was beautifully done, on time, and very reasonably priced (much less expensive than Apple). That computer is still working fine today - 4 years later. Recently, my iMac hard drive died, and again 1201 came to my rescue. They replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive and restored my legacy software as well as data from my back-up, plus they set up the machine’s permanent SSD in a dual boot system so I could continue to use my older software and also have a current OS available. All at a very reasonable price and in less time than they predicted. MY OLDER iMAC NOW WORKS SPECTACULARLY FAST. THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT. Not only the work they do, but also their in-depth explanations and friendly help. On a scale of 1-5, they rate a 10.

Update as of March 2023: 1201 Computer Repair worked on my 15-inch, 2015 MacBook Pro in August of 2020. They were GREAT TO WORK WITH AND THEIR WORK HAS BEEN TOTALLY GREAT. They improved cooling, replaced my SSD with a 1 TB SSD, replaced my speakers, reinstalled files from my back-up and updated all software. They did an in-depth tune up of this computer. This has been my main computer since then, and it has been working fantastically well. Note they did all of this in-depth work and also replaced my SSD with a 1 TB for a grand total of $675 ($425 of which was the SSD). If the rating scale went to 10 or even 100, I would give them that rating. Now, 2 1/2 years later, their work is still performing beautifully. THANK YOU 1201, YOU ARE FANTASTIC.

They fixed my pc as requested. Professional and competent.

However, the price for what they actually needed to do was quite high. They also tried to say I needed repairs that I didn't actually need. If I was less computer literate, I could have easily spent a lot more than I needed to.

I'd use them again if I needed to but only if I really couldn't do it on my own.

I was having a very strange and persistent issue with my computer. I had all but given up hope but I brought it into these folks and they wouldn't rest until it was fixed. Even after multiple appointments they didn't increase their fee. Very friendly, helpful and KNOWLEDGEABLE, you can tell these guys actually know their stuff. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with them. I needed help moving some hardware from one PC to another and didnt trust myself to do it right after so long. I took it into 1201 and they were able to do everything I needed them to do and were great at communicating and giving me updates via text. It took a bit of a wait for the turnaround, but im very busy right now and dont need to be gaming any time soon, so it was no issue to me at all if they took a bit longer than estimated. Overall i had a really great experience with them and I would definitely consider them again if issues with any of my systems arise.
