Hands down best Mexican food in town. My husband and I have been ordering take out from them for a long time, and finally decided to go eat at the restaurant. Felt like we were eating at someone’s home. So personal and such a homey feeling inside. They did a great job with the ambiance. Such a chill place to go eat at. Delicious food and drinks. The service was on point and very attentive. By far my fav spot. I crave their potato tacos called the Mini Crunch. And when the Elote is in season. Yummmmmm. Love 1960!

Ordered the chips and salsa, house margaritas, chicken enchiladas, and tacos. Everything was excellent. Service was great. Wife’s only complaint was that the place could have been darker for being a little on the fancy side.

This is a "pinky up" restaurant. Actually, a two "pinky-up". The rice was spot on, the flautas and tacos were very good. The corn tortillas were homemade & excellent! Overall the food was very good. The atmosphere is quiet and reserved. However, if you're looking for a place to have an animated conversation, laugh loudly and long, or enjoy a good Mexican beer, this isn't the place for you. The beer - Modelo. No Dos XX. No Tecate. No Corona. No Pacifico- no other option. The refried beans, let me say that again - refried beans, thick, non-runny - were served in a small bowl. The only beans that should be served in a bowl are frijoles charros, or frijoles de la olla. So, if you are trying for that presumidio persona, este es el lugar! You can impress all your compadres by paying double for the higher-class taco presentation. The food was so good, honestly, but I don't think us mid-to upper-class Tex-Mex folks, are the real target audience.

Food was bland. Not sure how they have the highest rated Mexican restaurant in Eugene, because it was far from good. Portions were small too. I ordered the Chile relleno dish, and an extra taco and was still hungry. You have to pay $7 for a tiny bowl of salsa too if you want it, and they didn't even serve it with chips. I wouldn't go back.

We had a small gathering of eight or nine people and called ahead. They were ready for us. The food and drinks were excellent. I can’t wait to go back.

While visiting Eugene, my husband and I chose 1960 Cocina. It was a great dinner. We both had the Pollo Asado. Grilled chicken served with a lime crema sauce, rice, beans, guacamole & corn tortillas. It was superb. Flavorful chicken, delicious sauce, tasty sides. Service was friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere and decor. We loved it. Food service was quick. Highly recommend.

1960 Cocina was a lovely restaurant that I can enthusiastically recommend.

The food was fresh and beautifully prepared, including meat from Long's Market. The salsa verde was zesty and well-balanced, with the brightness you would expect from a salsa verde and a smooth, velvety texture. Both of us ordered tacos and gorditas, which clearly were made from scratch (our server/host confirmed that they were).

Speaking of our server, he mentioned that he and his family own the restaurant, and that all the food is made according to their family recipes. Furthermore, our server was really kind and warm, and it was clear that he took quiet pride in being able to serve his family's beautiful food.

All in all, it was a memorable meal, and we will definitely be back.

Place has been renovated since the last time I was there. Good food but overly spicy for my preference so I knocked off one star.

Horrible service. Only food we got was chips. Walked out after an hour of waiting for our main courses. Never again.

Honest opinion is this; its better to have quality food than food that looks pretty, its clear they have spent the time to make food look good but the time should have been spent creating quality dishes.

An interesting restaurant to walk into. Seems like an attempt at a new era look/vibe. The restaurant is clean though its attempt at being fancy is apparent. Music was loud and service was slow. Food proportions were great in my opinion its just too bad the food turned out to be a bummer. Chicken was very dry and bland leaving the flautas very undesirable. The cheese enchiladas again unfortunately very bland. Beans and rice are very good though.

The food is good, the music was loud the service was OK. I ask for my my leftovers to go and the server only put half of the food and didn’t put the tortillas. Again the food was delicious.

A very cozy Mexican restaurant. The food was all great and the drinks were strong. We really liked the homemade salsas.

I recommend trying the tacos my favorites were the shrimp and also the asada. For a starter the crunchy potato tacos are perfection.

While in Eugene we found this cute, upscale Mexican restaurant. The menu is limited but every dish was authentic. I had the green chicken enchiladas. Baked in a small casserole the tomatilla green chili sauce was flavorful and paired perfectly with the shredded chicken rolled in a homemade tortilla. My partner ordered the beef tri-tips, the red sauce was spicy and he scooped every bit with side tortillas. The restaurant is 1 small room so it can get noisy. The room was decorated tastefully and we enjoyed ourselves.
