A1 Alteration Station reviews
17Great service and very competitive prices. Had some jeans hemmed to the perfect length for $15. They even did it on the spot for $5 extra. Totally worth it.
The zipper of a favorite Mammut raincoat kept opening in the middle while in use. I tried using needlenose pliers to tighten the slider, and that sorta worked but the zipper was then hard to pull. The gal at A1 Alteration Station found a nice replacement YKK slider, installed it within 10 minutes and charged only $12. Quick and inexpensive service!
I've never had any clothing tailored before, but this shop was quick, efficient and affordable. Will go back for future tailoring needs.
Can’t say enough great things about this place! My bridesmaid dress fits perfectly. Thank you so much!
Lead time for a non rush hem is a bit long, but super friendly, fair pricing, and excellent hem work!
I've been coming here for years.it is more expensive than some of the shops in town, but it's worth it.their attention to detail shows in their work.everything i have had altered here is always done perfectly.not sure if they hired a new employee but a few items i had altered last week were not done "perfectly". I was somewhat nervous about taking them back in to complain because nobody wants to be that person, but the owner was super helpful and understanding.without hesitation she agreed to fix the items at no cost and have them back to me in a few days.this is what a good tailor does, they stand by their work.can't say enough good things about this place.best tailor i've ever been to
The only place I’ll take my clothes. They are quick, thorough, and fairly priced. Totally recommend
I tend to hold onto my clothes as long as I can, and this place has been my go-to place for repair. While repairs needed are not major (big holes in front denim pockets, and detached jacket drawstring), they did a great job for a reasonable cost. Thank you, and I will definitely come back.
The side of my pocket on the back of my jeans was tearing. They made it look so nice and better than I expected. Super affordable too. One week wait time
These guys have always altered my vests I wear for Halloween and Parties without fail! They're reasonably priced, respectful, and prompt, can't recommend this business enough!
The first time I came a few years ago they did good work at a good cost, though they refused to agree to give me back the extra fabric from something I had hemmed. I returned to this place because I know it's highly rated. I needed a few teeth of a zipper on my skirt fixed. Apparently they put in a completely new zipper, but they failed to mention that they would also be taking the skirt in! It barely fits now, and it seems at least an inch shorter. The prices have gone up as well, so I will not return.
They did a beautiful job, yet while pinning, I needed to show them they could take the dress in more.
The woman helping us was just a bit unsure on how the dress was supposed to fit.
This is a quick and efficient tailor for perfunctory alterations (i.e. Getting something hemmed). You pay in advance and turn around is very fast, usually a week. No try on or adjustments upon pick up—for more involved or detailed needs (something like a wedding dress) I would go elsewhere.
Excellent services. I have had everything from curtains to custom fittings done here. It’s always perfect.
I hate to leave a subpar review but I had a subpar experience here. I had some sewing jobs I wanted done expertly. As a home sewist I did not think I could do a nice enough job, and I was low on time.
They added a zipper to one dress and added a corset back to another one, the second being my friends wedding dress. The first one turned out ok, but the thread match was noticeably off and the stitches seemed too long for a formal gown. I wouldn’t mind but I could have done a better job unfortunately
The second one was done completely wrong at first and they had to take it back in and fix it. They were kind and apologetic about the mistake.
When I got it back the stitching was nice enough, but they had accidentally stitched some of the corset loops into the seam so the laces could not go through. I had to take it all out and re-do it myself.
All that being said the prices were reasonable and the staff seemed friendly enough. I would trust them to handle hemming etc but I would not bring formal wear back here.
They refused to use the thread I brought them, saying it was cheap, without even looking at it (It was new and bought from a quality shop).
The Fabric I brought was 1 long piece to be cut in 2 for curtains. The panels aren't even close to being even or the same size. So they hang completely awkward.
High price for not so high quality work.
