I’ve been helped at this location two times so far and I have to say, they were both equally pleasant! I’m normally pretty apprehensive about visiting dentists, but the staff really helped me feel comfortable. They’re quick to pick up the phone and I was able to book appointments only a week or so in advance. Overall I’m very happy with my experience!

First time there. Really liked the staff. They took good care of me and explained everything very clearly.

The two hygienists that cleaned my teeth were both very nice. Unfortunately the admins/front desk have repeatedly failed to follow through on what they said they were going to do. Even returning a call seems to be a struggle for this office. Would not recommend going here.

I'm writing this as I leave from my first filling.

Dr. Justin Goodman and the dental assistant (didn't catch her name in my anxiety, unfortunately,) were extremely accommodating of my concerns and were attentive to my needs. This is the first time I'd ever had nitrous administered to me, and to keep me calm the assistant chatted with me on the lead-up, and kept checking in with me during the nitrous. I also mentioned a tooth I was especially concerned about, and she was able to get my appointment adjusted to address it.

I will definitely be coming back! This is the first time I've not had a panic attack in the dentist chair, and that's saying something.

I have been a patient for over 5 years with Gentech and always had good experience until Advantage Dental took over the business.

End of last year and beginning of 2021, I had multiple dental procedures done. They gave me an estimate and I paid the amount upfront on some of the procedures that may not be covered by insurance. First of all, when they ran my debit card, they ran the amount twice resulting in my bank account being overdrawn. I had to call the office to get a refund.

Secondly, there was another procedure that the insurance did not pay and I paid over $1,000 out of pocket. Eventually, the insurance reversed the decision and paid the claims and sent the payment to Advantage Dental electronically. When I called the billing department for refund, they told me that they were going to withhold the full amount because there is still an outstanding amount of over $500 for a different procedure on Dec 31,2020 that the insurance hasn't processed which is not related to this refund. Never was I informed that there was an outstanding claims that was not processed by the dental office nor did I receive any bill for that.

I had spent hours on the phone speaking to the dental office, and was asked to call the billing department and the insurance company. All of these should have been taken care of by the dental office.

When I spoke to the front desk (Chloe), all I received was snarky comment about how I wasn't being kind to the billing department. Sorry, if you have to spend hours trying to do their job, I bet you would lose your patience as well. I'm done with them and as of today, I am terminating my relationship with them and go to a different provider.

If you want to avoid billing nightmare, stay aware from this provider.

P. S. I asked the front desk to send me a release of information so that I can transfer my medical record to another provider. Instead of sending me a blank release of information, she violated HIPAA law by sending me a Release of Information signed by another patient.

Wonderful experience all the way around. I have major Dentist anxiety - from invasive treatments as a younger person and a few bad dentists along the way. I took a lot of time to research dentists in the portland area because I was very apprehensive. I wanted to find a dentist that would be sensitive and sympathetic to the fact that a lot of people have had dental trauma/anxiety.

I am very impressed with this Health Center. Every person I interacted with was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Other Advantage Dental Health Centers should look to this site as an example and find out what they are doing right! Thank you so much.

Take Two: If you are weary of going to the dentist, are embarrassed by your teeth or have had health care professionals look down their noses at you and treat you like some kind of drug addict so that now you hate going and only do-so in the most dire of circumstances This place is awesome and Dr. Obeibi is officially the best dentist that I’ve ever been to. I have neglected my teeth for way too long and have been quite ashamed of them, which only made it harder for me to do anything to get them fixed. I put it off and put it off until finally one of them that had broken off at the gum line (actually a couple of them) and became infected and I began to experience the worst pain that I’ve ever felt. I called my insurance provider who referred me to advantage dental. I called and they must have had a cancellation because I told them I was in severe pain and they had me in the chair less than twenty-four hours later.
Honestly, more often than not when I see any health care professional, I feel like they treat me as if I am some sort of dope fiend who’s only interested in narcotics. I generally leave feeling disrespected and unheard and without addressing the reason why I went. Consequently, I don’t really trust or like doctors or dentists. I don’t like to see them and generally only go once a problem is so bad that there is no more avoiding it. My experience with Advantage Dental was unlike any of my past experiences and was undoubtedly the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. They had me in less than twenty-four hours after calling. They took x-rays to identify the exact problem causing my pain and then performed the procedure right then so that when I walked out that afternoon the problem had actually been solved. I can’t think of a single other medical or dental issue I’ve had where I called a provider and in less than a day they had actually solved my issue for me. It’s always a drawn out nightmare of a process. Not at advantage dental. They treated me with respect and never once cause me to feel looked down on or unheard. They immediately made alleviating my pain the first priority and then getting it solved as soon as possible. I can’t say it enough, twenty-four hours after I called they had solved my issue and my pain was gone. Have you ever had a health care provider do that? It’s unheard of among my people. So they just got themselves a life long patient. If you are weary of going to dentists, this is the place for you. Check them out, you won’t be sorry.

Yesterday’s visit to Advantage Dental was my first dental appointment in about 3 years. I’ve been unable to be seen due to not being able to afford dental care without insurance and I was so nervous because I’ve had experiences with staff elsewhere who made me feel very guilty and belittled about my situation. I wish I could remember her name but the assistant for my appointment was so kind, supportive and informative. Dr. Goodman did a very thorough exam, went over my treatment plan and even prescribed me a fluoride toothpaste to help my soft/sensitive teeth in the meantime. Altogether this was the best experience I’ve had in a dental office and I can now say I’m actually excited to come back for treatment and routine care. Thank you Advantage Dental!

I don’t know diddly about dentistry, but as a human with teeth, I have to say this is the best dental experience I’ve ever had. The whole team is warm and welcoming, and for the first time in my life I’m actually looking forward to coming back in for future appointments. A+ all around!

Thorough, friendly, and fast. My comfort as a patient is always a priority. Dr. Obeidi also successfully advocated for me to get a usually-denied surgery approved by my insurance. Fantastic service.
