They are unreliable with scheduling. I initially contacted them in early February to request a cleaning. I had my initial appointment in April, not the cleaning. The cleaning was scheduled to be set at a later date in April. It was cancelled days before, and rescheduled to June 29. On July 27 I was contacted that they had to cancel the appointment. The earliest date they could reschedule was for late October! This is extremely frustrating. If you're expecting any service with them be aware that they will most likely suddenly cancel and won't reschedule until months out, which even then it's a gamble as to whether or not they will keep that date.

I went to Advantage about a month ago and was told I had a whopping 11 cavities in the coldest of manner. I was shocked. The dentist's advice was to, "brush my teeth better" and then immediately scheduled my first of many, many filling appointments for 6 months later. I decided to get a second opinion from my mom's dentist and was told I have 2 very small cavities and that my teeth look quite healthy, actually. The 9 "cavities" that they were referring to at Advantage were in fact, naturally occurring grooves in my molars that I've had my whole life. So why on earth would any dental practice scare the heck out of someone, give insensitive advice or want to put a patient through that much pain and anguish for nothing? Well, my mom's dentist informed me that big offices like Advantage, are unfortunately dishonest at times about your dental health and are more concerned about creating more work and profit for themselves. I'm pretty perturbed about all this and feel entirely mislead and taken advantage of. If I hadn't gotten a second opinion, I would have put myself through hell over the next year trying to fix something that isn't broken. So folks, please don't believe everything you hear. Small dental practices are actually quite affordable and aren't concerned with just creating work. Their main concern is your dental health, which is the way it ought to be right?

The reason I gave them 2 stars is because the hygienist my son had, Joey, was amazing. My hygienist must have been a student in training because it took her over 30 minutes to get my x-rays and it was actually really uncomfortable for me. The young man that ended up finishing them for her was also incredible. I just wanted to make sure I gave credit to some of the hardworking, compassionate individuals that work here because they deserve it and are doing a really great job. Even though they might work for a sub-par, slightly dishonest practice.

Love working for Advantage Dental. The whole entire organization delivers top service to everybody, everywhere in The State of Oregon. Every time I enter or stand inside either Friendship Dental, Advantage Dental or Acorn Dental I feel as if I enter a very safe environment. I feel as if I am going to be treated with dignity and respect. Also, I love that these clinics are not only friendly but impeccable. It is a very beautiful and comfortable environment. Today, I had to help a member of this clinic and, as usual, at the entrance they take his vital signs they ask him if he is under any type of med or drug.this is in order to update his medical file. Today, the dentist removes several infected molars from this member, in order to create an impresión, and return the smile to the member of the clinic. I like when doctors recount a little bit about their life. This dentist moved from Eastern Pennsylvania to Salem. He recounts that one of his relatives lives in Garden and when he says that, I mentioned that this place is a very important place in Tigard, Oregon, because there lived a very famous writer in history. He asked me who I tell him that L. Ron Hubbard used to live in Garden Home. He is surprised and says that he knew that he possibly had lived in Pensilvania or New Jersey, too. And, well! The talk continues because he now wants to know more in-depth and do research on Garden Home. The next page, he tells me about his grandfather Mohamed from Afghanistan who immigrated to The United States and because he had a strong accent and his name was Mohamed he could not pass his board examination because he was also a dentist. The last page, he tells me that he frequented in La Michoacana, ice cream parlor or ice cream shop in Pennsylvania. He also mentioned about his favorite ice cream but I don’t remember.
Last but not least, he finished his work and told the member of clinic that his next medical appointment will not be so painful. He dismissed him and his next appointment was rescheduled.
It is a joy working for Advantage Dental.

Wow 10/10! Best customer service I’ve received in a long time. I will say Jesus was more than AMAZING… he went above and beyond in working around my work schedule and was very professional and patient with me throughout the phone. Really enjoyed how Jesus took the time to really explain everything to me and also did his very best to find the best time that worked for me to bring my kid in for the first time. As soon as I showed up for my appointment Jesus continued to provide us with the best service ever and was very welcoming from the beginning. Im just so pleased with their service overall and how friendly they were. I will definitely be recommending Dr Adam and her staff to anyone who wants to feel like they’re really being taken care of.

They've canceled 5 appointments within 6 months. Sounds like all the hygienists either go on medical/maternity leave which can be understandable.but it sounds like they've done this to a lot of people and don't care about getting you in anytime soon. I called a different location and they got me right in the next day. I'm going to stick with the other location since this one seems short staffed or not have people available.

They booked me for an appointment. When I went there the office was closed! My teeth were hurting and when I called no body picked up! Bad experience!

Was on the books and scheduled for an appointment, and they left me a voice-mail the morning of to cancel it, saying that I actually needed to get x-rays before cleaning. Even though I had several phone calls with real people in the weeks prior, as well as making the appointment in advanced. No warning! And no apology! When I called them back, I was informed I would have to wait 2 months for another appointment and scedule a cleaning then another 2-3 months out. Will be looking for a new dentist!

Kudos to Palak Vaidya, my dental hygienist ever since the Gentech days. This is coming from someone who has extreme anxiety while in the chair, anticipates which crevice the instrument is prying, imagines every vibration of the ultrasonic scaler, and rejoices at hearing "it's a 7, but there's no blood".
Palak is empathetic and professional and does not judge me if the situation requires additional carpules of local, and even offers her own music file to calm me. I used to avoid cleaning like the electric chair; I'm treating it more like an episodic bad cold now.

I wasn't informed that a scan they did would cost me out of pocket and later sent me a bill after 2 moths that i wasn't expecting! I in-fact asked them if the scan was covered by my insurance and they said yes at the time of scan

I had a regular cleaning appointment after the initial exam, during the appointment, the hygienist said i need deep cleaning and said it would require me to come back another time. I also had to wait for 30 minutes after my appointment time as the hygienist was busy with the previous appointment! What a waste of time. This was after i waited for many months to get a cleaning appointment! I asked her to do a regular cleaning for now and she refused and i had to go back and couldn't get a cleaning done for that year!

Very bad experience overall.

If I could put 0 stars I would. My original appointment was November. They just called me for the 4th time to cancel. They always cancel day of appointment. Now they want me to drive over a hour for my appointment. They told me the person they had me scheduled for never was even a surgeon. So I have to start all over. Please don’t come here if you can help it they will do nothing but waste your time & give you the run around. They will make promises they cannot keep. Reported to my insurance as well. They still haven’t made an appointment with me since. Who knows if it will even happen this year! Absolutely unprofessional.

Last minute cancellation.which resulting in at least 5 months. I made my appointment for a cleaning in early February. The earliest they could schedule me in was for April. My appointment was on April 12, I was called on April 9 and told the hygienist wouldn’t be in. Which required the date to rescheduled. The earliest they could reschedule me in for was June 29! Ridiculous and unacceptable.

I had my first appt for Monday Feb 1st. They called me to cancel me and now they are telling me they can’t schedule me til March 16th. Worst dental experience ever! I took the day off work and everything. Highly unprofessional! I will definitely be going somewhere else!

Dr. Javier really exemplifies the role of Doctor as Teacher, which not only made me as patient feel more comfortable and relaxed, but allowed me to better understand the procedures being done and the reasoning behind it. He is also very gentle, especially when applying anesthesia on the gums. The staff at Advantage Dental is friendly and organized, allowing for an easy check in and check out process.

Told me they accept my insurance, took my insurance information upon arriving for my first appointment. Then sent me a bill for my full amount.

Apparently they did not take my insurance but lied to me and performed the exam and cleaning anyway.

Don't trust them
