Albertsons, Portland OR

I had an absolutely horrible experience with the same woman manager described in recent reviews! Her name is Connie if I’m not mistaken. Older, entitled lady with long hair. She is incredibly rude to customers. She has zero conflict resolution skills and I’m absolutely baffled why they’ve promoted a cashier with zero soft skills training to be in a management position. I live right next door and for the past three weeks have been going out of my way to shop other places. I’m a district manager of 5+ years, I actually tried to talk to the GM about the employee and rather than handle the situation like a typical manager would he seems to be more buddy buddy with his staff. You could tell he wasn’t confident in how he’d be handling the situation because he didn’t want to give me his name, telling me he’d rather not have upper management know this lack of leadership was taking place. I had to share my review because I’m super disappointed as I loved this store and all the staff prior to this, patch would ring me up daily, Toby serves me coffee at Starbucks. I’m a regular customer. Until that day, it was a big eye opener for me. I’ve seen Connie get incredibly loud with customers in numerous situations, it wasn’t until that day that I experienced it myself and also found out she is in a manager position at that. That was it for me. Ask her fellow employees how many times they’ve seen her blow up on customers for refernce, I’m sure they are dying for you to ask. That being said, I highly suggest employee reviews and feedback loops (Which are clearly not happening) … Listen to your customers, it’s literally free data and all the reviews are saying the same thing… maybe ask her how she would respond in a difficult scenario with a customer because clearly you never did in an interview……

Great neighborhood store, its not huge so it is missing a lot of things other stores have, but that is it's charm as well. No self check out, you get to know all the faces.

Love the Savon pharmacy in here along w/ the grocery store. Christy has worked at this pharmacy for years and even though I no longer live in Raleigh Hills, I continue to go here for all my prescriptions because she is wonderful. I love shopping here because it's the same friendly staff for years, and it maintains it's "small neighborhood grocery store feel. "

I had a horrible experience at this store. I used a digital coupon, which they did not put in. Luckily I noticed it right away. The manager then took over. She made me wait, bossed me around, was rude, and offered no apology. I got the refund correctly, but felt terrible and humiliated. I am never returning to this store again.

Often has low stock or empty shelves, terrible produce, and high prices. The only reason to go is for the ridiculously low advertised sales from time to time.

Great place to shop but the general store manager (Justin) is a creep, I have seen him being flirtatious with teenagers that are employed there, hitting on custemers. Generally an unsave environment for those with teenagers and or younger women he is what I would consider a preditor. Would love to see him get caught by chris Hansen. But thats my take on the store just putting it out there be safe with a person like that around.

There is a Starbucks located in this market I would say 90% of the time they close early due to staffing issues I don't understand why they even have it open ever.

They no longer carry the large noosa yogurt. The only reason I go there. Sadly hole foods is cheaper than Albertsons on noosa yogurt any way. I only stop in Albertsons well I am waiting for my medication to be filled at bowman pharmacy. I do like them. Albertsons is way over priced.

With the constant change of the stores these days they seem to lose the friendly and connected ways too establish a rapport. But I didn't get the disconnected feel vibe at this store. It had an old familiar charm that made me wish I lived even a little bit closer to this store so I could make it my home store refreshing to say and hopeful that there are some more Albertsons that maintain that old time feel.

Perhaps the most horribly mismanaged grocery store in all of Portland. Only for those that like waiting in line for longer than they actually shopped.

The staff managers are not consistent at all with their return policies. Been shopping at this location for almost two years now since I moved, and the rare times I had to return items, the store manager and assistant on different occasions have accepted my returns with no receipt, and gave me store credit which I’m okay with. I went back this week to return few things in exchange with store credit, and they refused because i did not have a receipt. They said they “always” need a receipt for returns, which has not been my experience in the past with this store.

Clean, well stocked store, but, beware, some of the deli specials advertised in the weekly flyers are not available at this store. No Chinese food at all here. Apparently, this outlet is too small.

I frequently visit this grocery store since it is conveniently close but I don't always find what I need. Its organized in kind of a weird way and they are often out of stock of items when other stores aren't. Its always pretty clean and the employees have always been friendly though so that's nice. I've also found Squishmallows here a couple of times. The parking lot is big too.

My day started so good.until I went shopping at this Albertsons store! While looking at the produce a tall, white man in a yellow vest (a store employee) started pacing behind me. I tried to ignore it and went on my way. Then I stopped to look at some calendars near the registers. That same white man stood about 5 yards from me and watched me again. Then I went to buy ice cream and again he started walking the aisle where I was looking at ice cream. At this point I asked him "Why are you following me around the store? " No answer! He just kept on walking. This experience this morning almost put me in a bad mood, but I will not let this rude and bigoted store employee ruin my day. The cashier was very nice and apologetic when I told her about my experience. Need I add that I am African-American? Surely not!

So I have been shopping at the same Albertsons on Shattuck and Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.for over 40 years and the clerks are always so friendly and at least greet you with some enthusiasm. Tonight the young man named Matt was awful no greeting or any kind of welcome and obviously didn't want to be there. I get it we all don't want to be at work but if your going to be in a job where your interacting with the public then either fake it or find a different line of work. That's one of the reasons I shop at this neighborhood store. I'm writing this in hopes that maybe a manager will read it and pull the kid aside and at least give him a pep talk about how interacting in a positive manner matters to some people and use it as a learning experience.

Nice staff that still has that old school vibe of, Customer service! Christi in the pharmacy is a rockstar and went above and beyond! Customer service at its finest.

I love having the convenience of a store like Albertsons in the neighborhood and I’d have to say I’d give 5 stars to all the employees who work there that go above and beyond for their customers. I’ve been helped at the seafood counter when they had already closed up; I was once looking for a type of twine that wasn’t in the store and they cut me some from behind the meat counter; and whenever I have had trouble with the app or needed to find something, I have always been patiently helped. They are really excellent. The only reason I removed a star is that when I compare prices to other grocery stores, honestly, I feel like a lot of the items are overpriced unless they are on sale. For this reason, I do the bulk of my grocery shopping elsewhere, but I do like Albertsons for when they do have deals or I have to pick up a few random items.

SHOP ELSEWHERE! Justin the store director is an arrogant and smug individual who does NOTHING to help customers or employees and instead makes you feel powerless when dealing with him. I’ve been shopping here for over 10 years and this one “employee” has forced me and my family to take our business elsewhere. Get rid of that clown who claims to be running the store!

On a positive note, Patch the checker and Andrew the grocery manager have both been extremely kind and helpful any time I interact with them at the store. It’s a shame to see such talented employees waste away under such an inefficient store manager.

This place has sold me rotten food on multiple occasions now. Rotten peppers in a bag, expired yogurt, rotten carrots in a vegetable plate. Take your expired food off the shelves and stop selling it!

I just witnessed one of the managers talking down to one of the employees who takes care of the carts in a way that you should never speak to people, she was so rude and cruel to him. I believe he may have a disability and if anyone ever spoke to me that way, they would be sorry. I felt so bad for this man, it made my stomach hurt. She should be grateful she has employees that show up to work. I will not come back to this store. Very disappointed.
