Alfred A. Loeb State Park reviews
16Myrtle wood forest reserve, real nice campground. No dump station you will have to go to Harris beach campground
Great park. The welcome center is such a cool idea and the volunteers and staff are amazing as well.
Great dune access and will be heading back here as soon as I can to explore more!
We really enjoy staying in the cabins at this state park. The river is a beautiful sight from the porch. I feel safe visiting with just my little boy and me. Restrooms are clean, park is well-lit, the host seems to be actively checking on everything. We haven't had a bad experience yet
This is a hidden gem of state parks. Away from highway traffic. Has 50 amp power water. No dump site on the park you need to use harris beach state park or the rest area across from Harris beach state park. They have private showers. The grounds are well kept. Highly recommend this park.
We like coming here for the day use area and trail as well as the river. We like September better than July. We had the river to ourselves.
Helpful ranger to highlight must sees alo g the trail. Very hot and dry when we were there.
This is a small quiet park by the Chetco river. You can drive along the river bank except during flooding. There are hiking trails and lots of picnic tables. Great place for grandkids.
This is a great campground. I'd prefer a little more space between the sites and it felt like almost all the sites were filled with trailers or rvs, but the great thing was that all sites have electric hookups so I didn't hear a single generator. The camp hosts were very friendly and the price on wood was great. It was a bit too windy to swim when we were there but the beautiful teal blue pools in the river make me want to come back a little later in the summer. I was also pleasantly surprised by the potable water faucets in every site, I can't remember that last time I saw that in a campground.
The river is very peaceful but this park has little to no amenities, does not have an obvious check in for camping, and ONLY allows showering 7am-8pm, no showers before bed.
The campground was awesome & the river access made our spot even cooler. Clean bathrooms, nice free showers, accessible fire pit, fire wood $5.00 and 19 minutes to town to grab items you may have forgot to bring. The river was perfect for paddle boarding and it felt like a bathtub. The trailhead hike was beautiful! The temperature drops on the coast, so extra blankets & warm clothes are a must.
Wow, what a treat! The park is so awesome right on the river. Very clean! Space 25 was really nice, big easy to get the 28' Rv in could probably get a 40' in this site and #26. We were up agiant the road and it was still very quite. About 50ish spaces. Maybe 10 of those back up to the river. Some of the spots are really large lots of space for tents and equipment. Only downfall is our site had the smallest fire ring only about 6" tall and small. Oh, and no cell service down the hill better up on the road.
Great place for family fun in the beautiful Chetco River. Would be 5 stars but the river access road is in horrible condition. Can't believe nothing has been done about it.
Is definitely a beautiful place.the road down to the river is however rogged so be prepared for the drop off on ur vehicle but as long as u drive slow and safe is manageable.an is worth it cause the view is simply amazing
Beautiful, peaceful early morning and late evening, good place for families to camp and swim, hot showers, group day use area. A real hidden gem!
This is a great place to have a walk among the redwood forest. Also has a nice river access into a swimming hole.
You definitely want to make reservations in advance. This campground is beautiful and it stays busy. The showers are hot and clean. The campground and day use area were all clean and well maintained. The park employees were friendly and informative.
