Such an amazing place! Cute, little A-frame Airbnb with private beach access just off the 101. It’s secluded and private, so even though you do hear the Highway, you don’t really notice it. You’re literally a small walk down to the private beach access to the ocean with a ton of beach to explore without a huge crowd of people. Just minutes from Depoe Bay, Newport, and the outlets at Lincoln City. We will DEFINITELY be coming to stay here again! Perfect for family of four. Bring extra towels and some garbage bags, however. They don’t offer extras!

Complete waste of money. Dirtiest place I have ever stayed. Mold all over shower walls and windows, stained couch, dirty carpet, old coffee left in coffee maker, cobwebs on ceiling list can go on. Multiple reviews with same issues so they obviously don't correct issues that people let them know about. Avoid at all costs spend a few extra dollars and go somewhere else.

Great location and adorable home. Super well stocked with dishes, towels, and lots of beds for such a small place. It was very clean. Would absolutely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part at the jean claude alpine chalet. The house is in a neighborhood right next to houses, so it is not very remote. The hot tub was absolutely amazing at first, then it got cold, then it was amazing again, and then it remained cold the rest of the stay. So, while the hot tub was the best part of the place, it was also super disappointing when we got in and it felt like a bath tub had been sitting idle for hours. We could not figure out how to make it hot again, as it seemed the buttons were locked. The next day, it was suddenly hot again, and we loved it. It was wonderful and relaxing to look up at the tall trees and the rain, and soak in a hot tub. However, the next day, it was cold again. Such a bummer! That was my favorite part of the place! The wood burning fireplace was a high point of the chalet stay. The kitchen was lacking. The only plates and bowls are plastic, so you cannot microwave anything except for coffee (there were nice, ceramic coffee mugs). We wanted to make a casserole, but there was no baking dish. There was also no coffee grinder (so bring ground coffee) or a pasta spoon to cook and serve spaghetti. There were no mixing bowls, either. The toaster was nice. The main bedroom has a comfortable bed, but all the other beds were super hard. My son didn't sleep at all the first night and complained about how hard the bed was. I gave him a hard time about it because i thought he was just complaining, but my husband slept in that bed the next night and my husband said that my son was 100% correct. They both moved around into all the beds upstairs, but, they said all the beds were super hard. The house is a very short walk to the river, so that was nice. Overall, i would say the house was ok, but we probably won't be back. However, we did have some good times there when the hot tub was hot and when we were sitting by the fire playing board games.

Ever since the management changed, its been very hard. Didn't get any housekeeping, difficult to contact manager and employees. Very cheap feeling room as well. The view and surrounding area is very pleasing though.

Booked this place for 3 nights. Beautiful private beach and cute chalets! I'm so excited to one day come back

I have given this place Alpine Chalet #3 (there are 11 Chalets), 1 star only because it is required to leave a post.
The grounds were well maintained and had a lovely outdoor space.
However, Chalet 3 was an absolute disaster.
We arrived at 4pm to find the Chalet on opening the door was foul smelling and we needed to leave the door open to air it out.
Numerous other things made this a terrible Memorial weekend.
1. Upstairs area had not been cleaned, with cobwebs in the bathroom.
2. The blinds on the front window were broken and when we tried to adjust them, the curtain dowel fell on my head.
3. The shower would not empty of water and black gunge came up through the drain.
4. The toilet seat broke.
I could go on and on. This Chalet is not worth the rental price as it is and should have a complete makeover.
I would definitely not recommend Chalet #3
to anyone.

My husband and I booked a chalet for two nights - terrible mistake! It was so bad we actually just cut our losses and found another hotel down the road. Horrible smell, filthy floor, mold on walls and in bathroom, broken and dirty blinds, pet hair everywhere. We thought we would tough it out and sat on the couch with a sheet over it, but we just couldn’t do it. This place should take our $400 and use it for upgrades and a deep clean.

The Cottage was super cute although could use a little updating. I was disappointed at the description boasting great views, we had to walk a ways to actually see the views.the beach access was pretty close and made for a nice walk. Overall a nice place to stay

Villa #6 was okay. Broken shades that fell as soon as you touched them, remotes with no back covers, and some dirty dishes put away in the cupboards. The downstairs bed was really comfy, and the upper bed in the loft was as well. The two recliners were comfy too. Cute kitchen with everything you need to cook, altho we didn't end up doing that. They are old places so there's lots of wear and tear. Beware the sole toilet as flushing is an adventure! The beach access is not good, especially for anyone with mobility issues - it's straight down and we didn't get anywhere near the actual beach, but the lookout was beautiful. Its quaint. Will we come back? No. We like easy beach access and this is not that.

I loved this place and staff. Comfortable, relaxing place with a view. One of my favorite places to stay

Stayed there 2 nights rented lodge 9. This was not a very comfortable place, for over 100.00 a night. The couch and furniture in the living room are extremely old and smell. The mattresses are also old and the bedding smelled of dust. The shower curtain has mold on it and there’s ants in the kitchen.
Super disappointed

The A frames are quaint, clean and conveniently placed. Unfortunately I did not get to stay. As soon as I arrived for my weekend stay I recieved a phone call from my son telling me that my puppy was having seizures so I had to turn around after maybe 20-30 mins and go home. I would have loved to have stayed, and hope I get the opportunity to do so in the future.

The place had 1 redeeming quality, access to, and views of the ocean. Otherwise it felt like a 70s beach house, complete with faux wood paneling.
Promised amenities, cookware, hot water, laundry, and Wi-Fi we're sub par.
The 2 Teflon pans were scratched so badly they were flaking. If you wanted a cup of hot water, the was a pot for that, but not a pasta sized pot.
Water temp was set so low you could only have a luke warm shower.
The note providing the Wi-Fi access code said To "start a load of towels to assist the cleaning crew" but we found no laundry to do as instructed, I needed my own laundry done.
The Wi-Fi was so slow it took over 40 minutes to DL a movie to my phone (no service in most of the area). It was very frustrating!
The units were built in the 1950s and haven't been update since the late 60s early 70s. The units looked adorable from the outside, but my heart sank when we went inside. Needless to say, we won't be coming back and would not recommend them.

Cute and comfortable. More spacious than expected. The turn was a bit hard to find in the twilight.

Vile and disgusting. Furniture is old and stained. Bathrooms are molded and smell. Refrigerator barely keeps anything cool. Cleaning service is superficial at best. Maybe 20 years ago this was a good spot but not now. The towels were clean and it's close to the beach. That's about all it has going for it.

We've stayed at other chalets here and have had good experiences but this place was really dirty and poorly maintained. Not so good experiences with the last vacasa rental also. Too much money for places that are trashed.

We ALWAYS love every bit of our stay at Whale Watch. It's very clean and has everything that we need for our stay. We've never been disappointed and are ready to book for next year!
