Arcade Book Exchange, Hillsboro OR

This is my all-time favorite used bookstore on this side of the river. I collect old sci-fi books and there is always such a huge selection to choose from. It’s a bit cramped inside, but honestly it gives the store a weird mystical feel. I love searching through the titles for hidden gems I wouldn’t have found somewhere like Powell’s, also for half the price. The owner is very kind and helpful. If you’re in doubt, stop by. Any true book lover won’t will not be disappointed.

What a little hidden gem this place is! It looks small but you go in and there’s tons of little aisles and books and crannies to explore. I could spend all day here. Reasonable prices and friendly owner/service.

A lovely used book store in the heart of historic downtown Hillsboro. Wall to wall bookshelves and narrow walkways with the occasional stack of books on the floor only add to the charm and excellent selection to be found here. And a good trade policy makes finding a good new book or 2 on a budget easy.

Wonderful shop. Had a wide selection of books and I walked out with four. Diana was delightful. I will be returning!

Very easy to exchange books. Large selection to choose from and the sales lady is very knowledgeable.

This store would get a four or five stars in normal times. The store is locally owned with a reasonable selection which makes it the type I like to support. But it's a small space and not using masks in defiance of the law and common courtesy for your customers is a deal-breaker. I did not feel comfortable shopping there. I'll check back in a year or so or when this is all over. I wish them well in the meantime.

Owner is very helpful and friendly. I was searching for specific large print books for an elderly family member and she remembered and contacted me later to offer what she found. I appreciated how she made it work during the covid shut down.and especially loved that she kept jigsaw puzzles in rotation! Highly recommend this store.

During the Covid shutdown of the library, we needed someplace to get books. My husband needs a lot of books. Arcade is wonderful and has so many selections. My husband only reads SiFi so difficult to find the type he Likes. Arcade has what he is looking for. Thank you so much.

Being new to the area, I wish I had explored more pre-pandemic with my kiddo. This place would be perfect for a coffee/book date since it's a few minute stroll from Decadent Creations ;)

I was able to call in and ask about some kid's books, confirmed what I wanted, and the friendly owner brought them out for curbside pickup! I felt so good giving my money to a small business and the local community.

Always a pleasant experience at this store. True book lovers here. Also just called about COVID hours and they said Tuesday through Saturday 10am-4pm for the time being.

A really cute shop! Great finds for children & romance novel lovers. Its 1/2 off the cover price, so it can get a little pricey if your looking for a deep discount. Overall, you'll enjoy searching for rarities.

I hadn't been here until today, I took my 2 and 4 year olds with me. I wish i would have got the ladies name, but she was absolutely a pleasure to be around. After my girls and I where done picking out books, they got a special treat for 'doing so well'. After picking out 3 books (two kids and one for me) it was only $9. I am upset I didn't know about this place sooner. Our visit made the day for myself and my kids. I will definitely be telling everyone I can about this place. You guys got a returning customer for sure! Thank you so much! I hope to get the ladies name next time I go in
