Restaurant Bao Bao reviews
18Super yummy bao. Plenty of vegan options. All delightful. Buns we’re ready very quickly. Would recommend!
Cute place, service was good enough, one of the bao buns in our order was the wrong one but they gave us another of the correct type when it was pointed out. The food itself was pretty good. I enjoyed the wontons, and the cold noodle I ordered was flavorful. However, nothing was amazing, and though the texture of the bao buns was nice, the flavor just wasn't really there. Worth stopping by, just not the best.
It's a small place but with a nice vegetarian selection of bao, and noodles. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend the place to my Asian friends who like to eat vegetarian food.
4.5 rounded up to 5 stars. We like the Hot and Sour Noodle Soup (Suen La Fen) and the pan fried dumplings. The bao was pillowy. Only complaint was the 5-spice in the pork filling was a bit much for us.
Had great bao buns and wonton soup. Soup had tons of wontons and the naps were very fluffy and filled. Soup was a little on the salty side for me, but my companions enjoyed theirs. I would give this place 5 stars but the person behind the counter seemed annoyed when we asked questions and like they didn’t want to be there.
The baos (baozi) are tasty. We had two big orders of bao with one sour and spicy noodle plus the cucumber salad. Very satisfying home taste. Highly recommended even though price is a bit high for a small comfort food restaurant.
I’m visiting from Denver, and I came here after going to a ramen place down the street that wasn’t serving ramen today. I’m so glad that place wasn’t selling the food they advertised on the sign, because this place was great!
I got one of each of the vegetarian Bao buns and shared fried veggie dumplings. All of the food was fantastic, filling, and reasonably priced considering the quality.
They also have cute stress swishers and stuffed toy versions of their food out front. They played chill music and got all of our food to us in less that 10 minutes. I highly recommend the place and will be coming back.
I use to love their food when they were a food cart. I was super excited to see they opened a restaurant, which is a really cute little spot. The last few times I've eaten here the food was super bland and the dough has a really awful, rubbery texture. Literally, the Arco gas station down the street has better bao buns.
Reception by the counter person was chilly. But food delivery was fast and the food was hot (so hot, in fact, I couldn't even eat at first, which is good). The mushroom bao was the first I tried. Ugh! The dough had no salt and was very bland.but worse was the filling, which tasted like dish water. The chicken curry bao had the same challenge with the dough but the filling was a bit tastier with a small amount of heat, but it really could have had a more sophisticated flavor profile. It addressed my hunger, but not desire for something with real mouth appeal. Fortunately (hallelujah) the red bean bao was good: a sweet, smooth texture of the filling and I didn't notice the blandness of the bun's dough; it was more of a dessert bao, like a moon cake. Bottom line: Nope, not worth it. I won't do back. I'll go to one of the various dim sum restaurants if I want bao.
Yummy and beautifully made bao. Had pork, spicy tofu, and red bean. Loved them all. Pleasant, clean ambiance, and a good amount of food for remarkably low price.
Bao Bao is my pregnancy craving godsend. I love coming in here for a quick snack. Of the 10+ times I’ve been in, service is always quick, the buns are consistently yummy, and the place is clean and low key. It’s hard to find vegetarian baozi outside of China and the mushroom one here slays. I am pretty surprised at some of the reviews because I have had a consistently good experience here and I’m generally hard to please. I finally tried the take home buns and they are also perfect (and a great deal). For a casual and quick lunch spot, Bao Bao is hard to beat in my opinion.
Used to go to the food car on sw washington and is still one of my favorites after all these years. The owner puts in alot of hard work into the shop and it shows in their food. Always consistent, quick and delicious! Highly recommend the pork bao.
The bao was great but the congee was super watery and tasteless. Congee is supposed to be thick like oatmeal- this was like a miso soup consistency with zero flavor. Pretty disappointing since it was almost $10.
Popped in here the other day for a light lunch and was not disappointed! I had the Small Steamer bao plate, and ordered the pork, chicken curry, and spicy tofu along with a side of cucumber salad. All three buns were delicious, my favorite being the pork and curry chicken as a very close second!
The staff are very friendly no matter how busy they are and the service is very fast. I ended up coming back the next day with my partner and ordered the Shan La Fen soup, not pictured but equally as delicious.
Just Downgraded my review to one star. (from 5) Is that harsh? Not as harsh as obnoxious, unhelpful and unfriendly counter person tonight. (wed Aug 2nd 6pm)
even though great food it doesn’t overcome that they made me super uncomfortable and not want to come here again. Not a great service experience!

Busting … first time having bao and definitely coming back. Pictured is the bean jelly noodle, red bean bao and spicy tofu bao, and the Ji teng mi fan and pork bao. Super good
Chicken curry bao and steam pork dumplings are a slam dunk. Their assortment of toppings only add positively to the experience - the chili oil is chef’s kiss.
Best Bao I've had in years. The Suan La Fen soup and the Ji Tang MI Fen soups were delicious. Looking forward to trying new items next time. We were both very happy eating here, no complaints!
Dumplings were very tasty as well.
