We had a wonderful stay in Seaside in a meredith property. From the beginning the staff were helpful and responsive, from our choosing a place, trying to figure out options as COVID/delta increased, travel and communication while we were there, and follow up afterwards. They were gracious and accommodating, far more so than they needed to be as we debated changing our plans a week ahead of time due to COVID concerns. We did go ahead and had a lovely vacation, the property was as expected, staff were helpful and responsive to questions, courteous and friendly. Cannot say enough good things!

Unfortunately this will be the last time we stay at a Meredith Lodging owned home. We had a 5 day stay booked at the sea chalet. When we walked into the home it did not look like the photos online. It was old, smelled musty, and the photos online definitely had a filter applied to make the place look nice. Air vents were nasty. The floor in the bedrooms was unlevel, they had to prop open doors with lamps so they didn't swing shut.

Also their customer service is trash. We had to reschedule our stay, we called them 3 months in advance and they charged us more for the rescheduled rental price even though the online price was showing a lower price. We would have just cancelled just because of that but we would have been out 1200 dollars.

First 4 photos are the posting online. Looks like a nice place to stay right. Just wait till you get there, the last 3 photos are what it really looks like. We got screwed. We walked out expecting them to work with us but nope. They said nothing we could do. Maybe I can hire a lawyer for false advertising!

We stayed at a great place in Lincoln City for a family get away. The met all of our expectations and even allowed an early arrival. They were very responsive to our questions and the house was very well equipped. Clean and within easy walking distance to the beach with the perfect view!

Recommended ocean front home. We stayed in Puffin Place for 9 days, enjoying the home and its location. Good for a larger group (we had 6 adults and 3 young children. Home has 4 stories and includes all needed amenities. There are multiple spaces to spread out inside the house, 3 ocean front balconies and a well maintained 6 person hot tub on the main deck. Make sure you are ready for the 120 steps (well maintained) down to the miles of beautiful beach and the 4 flights of stairs inside the house. Our 6 adults and 3 young children enjoyed it very much.
There are a few items that should be noted. There are two bedrooms with full baths, The third bedroom is ok for those who are not overly demanding since it has 2 adjacent bunk beds (with double lower). Our 2 and 5 years old found climbing to be an adventure. The parents slept in a lower double.
We were advised that parking is limited to 2 inside garage spaces. Fortunately we found the garage large enough for 3 cars so it met our needs. Street parking is limited to by the HOA between 9AM and 2 PM.
On arrival the home was clean and ready for us. All appliances worked. Kitchen included a Kuerig coffee maker and a coffee pot.
The rental company, Meredith Lodging keeps track of your contract and dates. They do not have information about the rental in addition to that available on the company's web page, so don't expect more personal advice.

We cannot even give this rental house Enchantment By the Sea a one star with any truthfulness.
We talked to Stephanie at Meredith Lodging on September 20th and she said a guest service rep would call us. No one called.
Our disappointment was the condition of the rental and the lack of amenities.
The following is how we found the rental last week:
1. The rental was not covid clean. Two bedspreads were soiled with? And we washed them to use the beds. Some liquid was dripped down a cabinet in a bedroom.
We bought Lysol and cleaned it.
The completely ruined hardwood floors have grooves in them with dirt and grime. The kitchen floor is missing tiles and some were taped with masking tape!
2. There aren't any night stands and lamps in bedrooms. Actually there are only two lamps in the entire house with 5 bedrooms.
3. The three sofas in the livingroom the cushions are torn and leather damaged and peeling off cushions.
4. Small old refrigerator.no ice maker
5. Mismatched dishes and only afew 5 oz glasses and 3 mismatched wine glasses. Pots and pans damaged and some without handles.
No drapes or shades on most windows. Dining room large window no shade making it hard to sit at table with sun blasting in for the evening. Appears a shade was there at some point.
6. Bedroom downstairs door jam damaged with clawing marks.appears that an animal was locked in bedroom and tried to claw it's way out.
7. Back deck rotting.boards missing and unstable. Bench below deck hard to get to with overgrown foliage. Safety hazard.
Rusted bbq with empty bag of briquettes on grill. 2 plastic yard chairs and a plastic table damaged on ground with only three legs.
8. Used bandages stuck to a blanket on one of the beds.
We cannot express how disappointed we were in the lack of response from Meredith.
The photos of the rental do not reflect its actual appearance. The photos were very misleading.
We have been renting beach houses for over twenty years and have never experienced one as run down and beaten up as this one.

We were very disappointed with a house we rented from Meredith Lodging on the Oregon Coast. The house is Seacrest, south of Waldport. The location and beach access are great, but the house is pretty grim. It is old and lacking in maintenance. It actually looks as though the owners are cashing in on the rental market while waiting to tear the place down. It appears that there has been no updating or maintenance on this house in decades. I'm pretty sure that the carpet dates to the 1970's. It is old, dirty, and stained. So much so that we kept our shoes on in the house to avoid touching the carpet with bare feet. No kidding. Towels and bed linens were old and very worn. A curtain rod in the living room was broken and hanging down. There was grime on all baseboards, doors, and window sills. Everything in this house is dated and of the lowest quality. The two toilets ran constantly and flushed only sporadically. I notified Meredith of our problems and they did attempt to contact us in order to send someone out to fix the toilets, however they left 2 voice mail messages that I did not receive until I got home - there is no cell service at that location.

The conditions of this house are such that it should be taken off the rental market. The photos of the house show the modest size and cabin-like feeling, but not the grime and neglect. We would never have rented this house had we known. Way overpriced!

Since our stay I have written to Meredith Lodgings with my concerns but have received no reply. I hope this place is not indicative of their other rentals.

We rented “the Surf Perch” house in Pacific City from Meredith Lodging through Airbnb for Aug 11-15. The listing was not at all representative of what we found when we arrived. The house was filthy and in terrible repair. It had clearly not been properly maintained for some time. The deck railing was broken and dangerous. The hot tub was cloudy and full of sand. The kitchen faucet was broken, a knob was missing from the stove top and a chunk of laminate was missing from the countertop. The furniture and carpet were stained, and the recliners in the movie room were broken and would not recline. Though it was listed as “pet free”, it was clear that animals had been in the house, because we saw several fleas, and there was a cat carrier in the laundry room. When we called Meredith Lodging, they told us we had to go through the “portal” on Airbnb. My mom made attempts to do so for over an hour and could not get it to work, so she called them back. They refused to help her, giving her the runaround, and said they were following Airbnb policy. She read them the policy from the reservation that any problems with the house should be reported to the host. The sign posted on the refrigerator from Meredith Lodging even listed a phone number to contact them with any problems. They offered to send a housekeeper over, but a housekeeper alone was not going to remedy all of the problems. It would have taken a team of housekeepers, carpet replacement, a handyman, a hot tub guy, and a furniture shopping spree to make this house look like the photos they used in their listing. They sent a guy over who tested the hot tub and left. It was still dirty. After that I called again and was passed to a “supervisor” who was unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. It is a scam to post a listing with a house pictured in perfect condition and priced as such, and then to have it be so poorly maintained. We are hugely disappointed in the house and in Meredith Lodging for being so unwilling to make things right with their customers. We deserve a huge price break and an apology at the very least.

We loved Heron Cove. It was comfortable with plenty of places to relax inside and on the deck. The back yard felt very private with lots of wildlife to enjoy.the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. Meredith Lodging responded very quickly when we needed to talk to them. We would definitely stay at this house again.

The home we stayed in for clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and included everything they said they had. Advertised for 8 guests, it had regular beds for 8 guests and a large table with eight chairs. It was easy to reach Meredith Lodging when an issue came up. We will definitely look for a Meredith Lodging home next time we want to vacation at the coast.

My sisters and I stayed at Ohana. It was a wonderful home. The ocean view and beach access was fantastic. The house was very cozy and clean. We really enjoyed our stay. I have rented many times with Meredith Lodging and am impressed every time. It’s so much fun to spend time with family.

After a bit of a snafu at check-in, we contacted customer service and were very impressed with the above-and-beyond response we got from Meredith Lodging to make things right. Once we got settled, we found The Koral Retreat in Rockaway Beach to be absolutely perfect for our family's needs. The whole place was picture-perfect, in fact the pictures don't actually do it justice. Beautiful and functional touches delighted us around every corner: the hot tub, the outdoor shower, the chef-grade kitchen, the beds, the cozy master suite with balcony - everything was incredible. I will say if there's one fault it's that the walls are a bit thin, so noise was sometimes an issue. But still, everyone in our group was blown away with our stay, and we can't wait to go back!

We loved Caravel by the Sea! Booking with Meredith was easy and I appreciated their online booking system as well as their personal touches like texting and being available by phone. The view here was beautiful and the house is great. Just know in advance that even though the house is advertised as not “dog friendly “, there have been dogs there and my son did have a mild allergic reaction after 2 days. There is a dog smell in the basement. Otherwise, the house was very clean. We were comfortable here and would stay again.

Do not rent from this company! The property was completely misrepresented online. It was in total disrepair and filthy. I could post 100 more pictures of how disgusting it is. These people are literally stealing thousands from people and don't have to make it right because you have no other choice but to stay or spend thousands more on another property. We are being offered half of our cleaning fee and our pet fee to be refunded and $100 on our next rental. Um, no.we will never stay on a property of yours again.

The home was clean and comfortable; reservations were easy; arrival instructions were clear and simple; departure instructions were also clear and simple. We didn't experience any issues with our stay.

This was our third time that we have booked with Meredith Lodging. The previous times were great as were the houses we stayed at. This time, we booked a total of 10 days at two different Meredith properties. One in Sunriver, the second in Lincoln City. The booking process was great and we had no issues. The day of arrival, we were notified that the house we were staying in was having roadwork done near the property and that the house was not accessible via car until after 7 pm. Also, if we would need the car the following day, it would need to be moved out of the driveway no later than 7 am. We had two choices, we could either arrive before 7 pm and park 3/4 of a mile away and walk to the property with our luggage or arrive after 7 pm, unload and then go park in the lot 3/4 of a mile away for the evening. As we were in the process of commuting to the property when we were notified, we opted to arrive later so we would not have to carry luggage after traveling from Dallas that day. That entailed us having to make plans to delay our arrival and find a few things to do immediately. When we arrived to the house, we noticed immediately that it was hot in the house. The heat had been left on and it was 89-90 degrees inside. This was not ideal after a long day of travel. We quickly turned the AC on, but it takes a while to cool the house down. It finally dropped below 80 inside, sometime around midnight. We did notify Meredith about the heater being left on. Outside of these two issues, the property was nice. I do think Meredith could have managed it differently. They had several properties in the neighborhood that they could have moved us to to avoid the debacle of not being able to park at the house and walk 10-15 minutes to get to the car for the first 2 days. Dealing with that and the heat being left on was not an ideal check-in process. Unfortunately, as a result, I will probably not be using them again for our future trips to Oregon.

We've rented a vacation home from them before, they go out of their way to make sure you have a stress free as possible trip.
