Nickel and dime tactics that cause the consumer to waste time. You're better off doing it all through a shop and/or on your own in the end. Not a great 'end user' experience. My example is that my bike sat at a shop that myself and my friend chose (I bought a bike off him) because the bike shop wouldn't release it to UPS for shipping purposes, and told me to call Bike Flights. Bike Flights held the transaction/shipping process ransom for a measly $5 bucks at this stage. They said they had no clue when UPS would pick up the bike from the shop or when it could be scheduled to be picked up until I gave them the $5. The bike shop on the other end refused to put the bike on their daily UPS shipments - and kept telling me to call Bike Flights. I eventually gave them their $5 to they could release the bike to UPS and ensure it was scheduled for pick up.

This is a terrific solution to a real problem: how to timely and affordably ship bikes of any size anywhere in the world so they arrive in the same condition as they were sent.

Great videos on how to disassemble and pack your bike. Boxes are reusable. Lots of optional add-ons depending on your needs.

I'll update this review upon completion of my delivery. I was referred to BikeFlights by my local bike shop and was hoping that the convenience of shipping directly from my local shop, who would be packaging both bicycles, would be worth the cost & effort of my not having to bring both bikes to a shipper of my choosing. BikeFlights has repeatedly delayed the pickup of my bikes and it's now 6 days later. I would strongly encourage anyone wishing to ship a bicycle that they find another service.

Bike flights damaged my brothers bike and I saw him unbox it only to see it was damaged. He was really excited to get out and ride but we were all sad that it arrived with the frame smashed. He bought insurance but it doesn’t seem likely he’ll get anything back from it. He’s almost 100 emails into it with their claims team and has been required to get quote after quote and drive his bike all over. Just use UPS and buy actual insurance. And read the bikeflights terms of service - they’re crazy and basically reserve the right to do whatever they want. Dont kid yourself into feeling safe.

I received a $12k+ ebike that was damaged in shipping that my son bought. He unboxed it in our front living room. The box looked like it had been pierced by something sharp in multiple areas. Unfortunately they have sent my son on a seemingly never ending journey to try and collect any sort of money for the damage. Don't use these guys to ship your bike unless it's something you don't mind getting damaged. Very hard to collect on their policy. Would recommend reading their terms of service.

Beware. My friend who was receiving my bike had to leave town. Fought with with these guys for an hour to remove the signature requirement for delivery. Came to “it is not physically possible due to our commercial contract with UPS”. Had to ask a handful of big favors to have my bike be collected from the UPS service center before it was returned to Hawaii. If you want the lower rate, know what you’re getting yourself into. Won’t ship with them again.

This service is super easy to use, save over regular Shipping. Very satisfied with this service.

Fantastic to work with. Extremely easy to do and excellent communication. I had a unique shipping scenario, and they were more than happy to accommodate. When pick-up at location ended up not being needed, they credit my account without me inquiring.
