Blackstone Audio, Inc, Ashland OR

In May of 2023 my publisher asked me if I wanted to create an audiobook version of my wild edibles book. I said: “Hell YES! ” Shortly thereafter, I was slated to go to San Francisco or Portland to record the audio. I was reluctant to travel to either place because it would’ve cost thousands of dollars in gas and hotel stays out of my pocket. Instead, I suggested we record everything at Blackstone Audio in Ashland. This worked out beautifully and saved me heaps of dough!

Blackstone Audio is a top-notch recording facility located in a beautiful, mountainous town in Southern Oregon. My commute from medford to Ashland was a motorcyclist’s dream. In total, I sat for five five-hour recording sessions in one of their state-of-the-art isolation booths and got to know the place well. I was paired with a friendly/professional audio engineer who was instrumental in a successful final product (shoutout to Josh B.).

Basically it was a magical experience all around!

It’s also worth mentioning that many great books were recorded at this facility and it was an honor for me to sit in the same chair as some of my heroes.
