Extremely unhappy with my haircut from Charles.
I wanted something cute, professional, affluent- instead I look trashy.
He rip cut over 6 inches off of my hair without asking me first.
He also dyed my roots orange/black when I wanted blonde.
He didn’t listen at all to me, instead he used my head like a practice maniquen.

Donna cut my hair beautifully! She uses fabulous products and helped me rediscover my bouncy, curly, and shiny hair. She is patient and inquisitive regarding your wants/needs. The color in my hair looks delicious as well! Thank you Donna

A colleague at work always had great hair, that's how I found Donna Brown. I have fine long hair and she knows how to lightly layer my hair so it has volume, and she is great with bangs. She's been doing my hair for at least 4 years, and I always get a good cut that looks good for months.

Donna Brown is AMAZING! She single-handedly changed my life by changing the "life" of my hair. My hair used to be crackly and dry, and it would always grow out funny. Overall, I just had frumpy, uninspiring hair, and I didn't think there was anything I could do about it.

Luckily, I stumbled upon Donna, and she changed all of that! My hair is now shiny, silky, and healthy-looking (as well as healthy feeling). It always grows out beautifully.

The great thing about Donna is that she takes a holistic approach to hair care. Donna taught me which brushes to use for my hair type; how to keep my ponytails in place (they always used to loosen and sag) ; and thanks to her, I now use Moroccan oil after every shower, which has really improved my hair texture and shine. She gives beautiful cuts and she has really helpful suggestions—as an indecisive person, this means a lot to me! She is overall a very intuitive hair stylist, and she's very friendly and easygoing to boot. I cannot say enough good things—I even followed her from her previous salon to Blondie's!

On vacation & on a whim I stopped in to ask about hair services. Ron shared so much helpful information with me about my hair and then proceeded to give top notch service. He is experienced, artistic and a good human. I left really happy with lots of new ideas.

Best haircut in a beautifully remodeled place. Ron has a heart of gold and goes out of his way to make you feel like family.

Ron has been cutting and coloring my hair for years now. He always does a great job. I'm never disappointed, and he's also a lot of fun to talk to. He recently remodeled the whole salon himself, and it looks amazing! Plus he generously gives free haircuts to the homeless each month, which says a lot about him!

Good haircut but he told me he does not like my tattoo's and when i tried to pay he said he had no change. The shop looks old and dirty.

Blondie A Salon was recently under a remodel at the location of 1225 SW Alder.

Blondie A Salon has been in business over a decade, owned and operated by Ron Kotkins. Ron has been doing hair for over a quarter century, and he formerly owned a salon called Ron's 23rd Ave. Hair Designers, which was previously was located on N. W. 23rd.

"My hair service started in 1981, at Ron's 23rd Ave. Hair Designers, located in Northwest Portland. In 2001 my business partner Montey and I relocated to a nearby salon called Scissors Palace, which was located in Southwest Portland. Shortly after 2002, we decided to open our own salon and called it Blondie a Salon, located in Southwest Portland. I love to do hair and watch the effects it has made on people's lives. " Ron said.

“My team and I are so excited about our recent update's to the salon by giving the salon a brighter appearance and a modernized feel, ” says Ron. “I like to keep a clean and organized work area for my clients and my team. We are very passionate about taking care of our clients and we love what we do! All the updates will allow my team to do more in the space. "
