The interior is gorgeous, it’s in a beautiful location and the City has provided lots of parking close to the entrance, their notion of customer service seems to be based on the principle, “Our business is always right! ”

I needed to have my nails redone and am only in town on business for another week so I thought I would get them done over the long weekend, preferably on Sunday. Their website said they are LGBTQ+ friendly so in the interest of supporting the cause I made an appointment for a mani/pedi for today, even though for me it’s a workday.

When I arrived I was told that they wouldn’t be able to do both because the receptionist who made the appointment isn’t a regular employee. When I expressed my upset I was told they had tried to call me. I told them I hadn’t received a call, to which they replied that maybe she had been given the wrong phone number. Now who would have done that but me?

They said they had time for one service but not both. Figuring what I really needed was the mani- part I decided to take that and make the best of the situation.

As the manicurist started working on my nails she asked if they were my natural nails. I said, well underneath and showed her where my real nails ended and the extensions cantilevered out. Even without that, there is a distinct ridge on the top of the nail between my nails and the glue ons.

It wasn’t until she had demolished the the topcoat and color from my previous session that she realized, ‘Oops! Maybe I shouldn’t have done this. ’

So she brought in the general manager who first accused me of “being mean to everyone. ” When I asked the manicurist if I had been mean to her she confirmed that I hadn’t.

Then the Queen Bee tried to tell me they don’t work on nails like mine because they’re “an LGBTQ+-friendly place. ” Well, I fit into the Q-category and she hadn’t been terribly friendly to me! But more to the point, what’s that got to do with anything we were discussing?

Then the excuse was they’re “a natural nail salon. ” As I told her, no one had told me that, there’s no signage or placards that effect. Nada.

When I tried to suggest they make that clear with signage, etc. ; she dismissed the very notion with “Why should we? ”

Evidently, in her opinion she’s running a perfect operation and if anyone feels otherwise, it’s obviously THEIR shortcoming!

Loved the ambiance, the services I had were amazing and the staff were so friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back!

The spa is gorgeous, tranquil, and every person that works here was so friendly and helpful. I felt well cared for and pampered. Excellent staff, hospitality is their top priority and they make sure you feel like a queen:) my skin was glowing when I left and the massage therapist was very skillful and detailed, she really worked on my knots in my back. I feel ten years younger! I'm a client for life!

Booked a Safari Spa Package and a hair appointment for the following day for my wife’s birthday. The morning of the spa appointment we were called and informed that the massage was cancelled and it was out of their control. No explanation. No offer to remedy the inconvenience. Not even an apology. THEN the following morning we get a call to inform us that her hair appointment was cancelled. The only reason I booked with them and traveled 3 hours to Ashland is they offer hair and massage at the same location. Both of which were cancelled. No apology either day. No offer of solution. Nothing. Just an attitude saying “it’s out of our control”. But if I called the day of to cancel I would still be charged. Terrible customer service. And that’s not even mentioning the rushed and whack pedicure my wife received. With so many options in Ashland for these services I highly advise that Blue Giraffe is your very last resort. Save your time and money. Chozu Bath & Tea Gardens is a far better experience. Waterstone Spa is another choice that is far superior to the Blue Giraffe.

Great experience, I got a Brazilian here and couldn’t recommend it more. A little pricey but it’s worth it, the esthetician was knowledgeable and friendly.

I had a gift certificate for massage and facial right before covid hit. The facial was cancelled as the person scheduled to do it was sick. I was given a hand written, dated gift certificate with their logo on it with a signature for the facial and then the covid shut down happened. I went in a few months ago to try to activate the gift certificate, and the receptionist was uncertain, took a picture, and said she would get back to me. Heard nothing. Went in again today and was told that the gift certificate was not good as it didn’t have a number attached and there was new ownership, and they’d had seen a few of these and they weren’t honoring them. Seems to me it would be good community PR to honor these gift certificates. I will advise my daughter to go elsewhere for such a gift in the future.

I’d really like to leave no stars but my facial by Christine was wonderful. My husband booked a spa package for my birthday, which is today. They had weird scheduling so we had appointment yesterday and today. Yesterday was supposed to be massage, facial, and pedicure. But they called on our drive over yesterday morning (we live 2.5hrs away) and said my massage was cancelled because they didn’t have a therapist for it, only to get there for my facial and two women in the changing room talking about both their massages. Then first thing this morning they called again! (Because of the second appointment the next day, we booked a hotel and stayed the night) Saying my second appointment for a hair cut had also been cancelled! When I said we drove 2.5hrs and stayed the night for these appointments all she kept saying is it’s beyond my control. No apologies and no accommodation. Two days in a row cancelled by the same place. They obviously could care less about customer service or even providing service at all.

I've visited the Blue Giraffe many times and never have been disappointed. The relaxing atmosphere is nothing less than spamazing. All the staff I've talked to are so nice and genuine l. I highly recommend Blue Giraffe for any of your spa needs and wants

I had an amazing day doing my maternity Spa package at the Blue Giraffe! The pedicure was such high quality, the facial by Christine was next level, and the massage by Mackenzie was the best I've ever had. Christine was soooo sweet and did an amazing job with my facial. I think I need to make visiting this spa a routine thing!
