Bollywood Theater reviews
18We used to like food from here. However quality of food has degraded now. Food did not have any flavors and paneer Tikka was completely burned from one side and raw on other. Paneer makhani is nowhere close to eatable.
Long wait. But the food was really good. All the food items were really good. I especially liked their chicken
Was told by fellow indian friends that this place is over hyped and I will be disappointed with flavor and quantity. Well I gave it a try and it was disappointing. Food was served cold (disgusting), very bland food and overpriced. Please don’t let your desperation for indian snacks lead you to this place.
Second time ever having Indian food - so delicious. The colors on my plate and the presentation were beautiful! The All India Permit was an amazing drink!
First time there. Will be back! There were four of us, we ordered four different dishes and two sides and shared. Everybody liked everything. For me the standouts were the vindaloo pork and Kati chicken roll and okra. Fair prices. Nobody went home hungry.
We always stop by here when we go to Portland. The food is not the best Indian food out there but it preserves the authentic flavors and has always been great quality. We got the Thali with chicken curry and the chicken Tikka bowl this time. It's a little expensive for the quantity but you pay for the ambience and quality as well. Nothing to complain on the Thali although it could have come with some pickle to complete the experience.
In the past we have had the chicken kathi roll and that has never disappointed. Note: none of the food here is spicy.
Always a repeat. Will go back again when in Portland.
The ambience was amazing and service fast. Loved the vada pav (definitely a must have) but paneer was a bit bland.
Smelled great as we walked in, vibe of a public house, our dish was not spicy, but there was a vindaloo
Absolutely loved this place. Everything we tried here was really awesome. We tried Bhel puri, Vada pav, Okra and each one was very delicious. One of the best places if you wanna try Indian food.
Moderate portions and reasonable prices! The chef kept the spice level at a minimum when we ate.
5 stars for the Hot Chai Tea alone (Remember that you get one free refill) Super staff, tasty food make this spot a Portland Must Visit.
Food was awesome. Everyone loved my big dog. Great outdoor area. Very casual. Definitely coming back.
The quality of the food has gone down a lot, over time.the food was bitter and the quantity of bowl is unbelievably less considering the price.
I’ve been coming to both locations of Bollywood Theater since they opened and have always enjoyed the experience but I just wanted to thank the Division St staff for excellent service this past busy Friday night. With so many pandemic challenges I can’t fault restaurants these days but I will admit to not really enjoying the new experience at so many places of no menus, very little interaction, having to order from your phone even at the restaurant, etc so it was really nice instead to get the same level of service and really helpful, friendly staff that they’ve always had at the Bollywood. Thank you!
Great food. Was crowded when we went but can't complain. Portions are small that's why 4 stars.
We went for dinner and wait time for 15 to 20 mins. Had to order food before hand before we grab a table.
The ambience is good can relate to indian restaurant. The food is okay. We ordered pav baji, chicken Thali and mango lassi.
Pavbaji- was ok. It's should be potato base but it was cauliflower base. It's was too bland for my taste.
Chicken Thali - the dal was superb, the chicken curry was okay, rice was half cooked.
Mango lassi - was okay.
You can try for the ambience. The food is okay. The spice level is less so expect it and go.
Fast service
Good staff
Nice ambience
Street parking
Can try for experience.
Go to spot for us and we keep coming back again and again. This place specializes in central india street food - from Maharashtra to Bengal. Dishes are cooked to perfection and it comes close to tasting homemade. Their paneer is really soft and fresh. Unlike many other restaurants, the food is not a grease bomb.
The ambience is a lot of fun too, with both casual indoor and outdoor seating.
The only minor suggestion I have would be to make the food more flavorful- it is somewhat bland/subtle, probably to cater to American tastes.
Best Indian restaurant in entire Portland division area. Little bit pricey but comes with closest authentic Indian Taste which has surpassed my expectations with mostly non Indians owning the entire kitchen. Feels like the staff go through some sort of Indian culinary courses because the pinch of all spices is close to perfect. Mango Lassi and Pav Bhaji are phenomenal. My all time favorite
