Breakside Brewery & Tasting Room reviews
16Fantastic visit. Just flew in from Virginia so this was one of the first stops. Steve was a great bartender. Very friendly (as was everyone). Very hospitable. Good brews. Flight and pints were great. Hope to go back sometime.
We had a really awkward experience at Breakside Milwaukie location today. My friend was told to leave by a server because she had brought along her toddler in their stroller. When asked the rationale the server told us they weren’t allowed to serve minors. We assured them that the baby would not be ordering a beer. Nor be given alcohol as this obviously would be a travesty. The server retorted that they couldn’t be sure that this was true. Going so far as to verbally usher us out which created a bizarre scene witnessed by other patrons. In conclusion my friend just wanted to socialize with her friends in an outdoor setting responsibly/respectfully. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve witnessed parents bringing their infants or children to a Portland brewery with no ill intent or consequence. Needless to say we went to a different location without incident.
Breakside Rainbows & Unicorns is probably the best beer of all time (to me). I drink probably too much IPA and that one is my absolute favorite. 10/10
Because I think so highly of Breakside Brewery, this is the taproom I will definitely take any out of town guests to visit! I’ve never been a big beer drinker but I do enjoy a good stout—esp theirs! I find their beer is the one I compare every other craft brewery’s beer against. Breakside holds first place w me! Staff are extremely nice and well-informed about their beer.
I love to watch the dogs that frequent here. Last time I was there a golden retriever came up to the bar w his owner, got on his hind legs, put his paws on the counter, looked up at the bartender, and panted, looking as though he was placing his order!
This is my neighborhood Brewery and can yet drink a beer that I dislike. Amazing staff, patrons, food vendors and they always got something new on deck! Got Hops?
This was our first time to Breakside and we will definitely be back! Great beer and really awesome staff. 10/10
It's always a good time here. Great beer, great atmosphere, and best of all, Dogs welcome here. Thursdays, they usually have a food truck
Breakside is, more than any other place that comes to mind, all about the beer. Before you find the building itself, it's clear that you're in a light industrial, production setting - take the first, rightmost entrance off of International Way to find Breakside.
The taproom has a nice system for tastings, letting you fill in the beers you want on a form that they use to pour, and your choices are laid out in the same order on a board.
The biggest sign that beer is the focus is the choice (singular) of food. Your only option is chips and salsa - an unopened container of each. My guess is that they're in a building that is not zoned for any kind of food preparation at all. But this just reinforces the fact that Breakside is truly focused on beer, and their beers make it worth the trip from anywhere.
Very dog friendly. Right side of beer menu consists of high gravity beers. Bring your own food. Plenty of seating Very popular
Fantastic beer made by fantastic people. The barrel aged beers are gems! Thank you for a great visit. Will be back again.
All the Breakside beer one could ever dream of! We got the backstage tour from one of the brewers (not available to everyone) and enjoyed a few pints at the tasting room.
There is good beer here. No kids. No food, though you can bring outside food and eat it here.
Always great beer. They need to open a Downtown Milwaukie location. It just makes sense- be the brewey landmark of Milwaukie (should be considered it anyways).
Wut! Dog-friendly space and friendly dog-lovers, plus my new fave brew: Rainbows and Unicorns.
Shangri-la found.
Do you like great beer? Of course you do. Do you like nice people? I dont know maybe. But either way this place has great beer and nice people for a solid price. Go get you some.
