American Restaurant Bridgeside reviews
15I have been going to this place since I was a kid. It holds a lot of memories for me. I have been taking my kids since they were young. The food has always been good, but I was somewhat disappointed in the food this time except for the fries. They were really good. My son's burger kind of looked dry and who makes fish tacos with hard shells? It still has beautiful surroundings. I was surprised when I saw the long line that I had to wait in. The last time I was there and all the time that I have been going there we were served, but I guess things change. We were going to buy something at the gift shop but it closed before 3. We were disappointed.
The atmosphere saves the place from getting a lower rating. The order-taker makes a bad first impression. Not helpful, unsmiling, not welcoming. My order of cob salad had only very little tomato and cheese and lots of lettuce on a flat plate. Way overpriced!
On the other hand, ALL the rest of the staff were more than helpful and friendly and welcoming! Maybe the order taker was having a bad day but no excuse for the food.
The shrimp basket was really good. From what my husband says, the cheese burger was good, too
Great views of the Columbia river and the Bridge of Gods. Friendly staff. Tasty breakfast. Great oatmeal with a poached pear. Reasonable pricing.
Clearly know their gluten free / allergies. They know about cross contamination (their fryer sadly), but have gf clam chowder, chili and burgers
We travel to Cascade Locks for PCT Days yearly, and every morning we come here for breakfast. It's fantastic!
Close to Bonneville Dam and easy access. All of our orders were delicious. We were a group of 5 and everyone was happy with their food selection.
We had toured Bonneville Dam WA side, ate here … bought some smoked salmon from local tribal sellers, then toured the fish hatchery on the Oregon side.
This place is on the Oregon side of the Bridge of the Gods.
The entire day was a delight of experiences! We drove along a scenic stretch of WA Hwy 14E (from Vancouver) to the Dam and then continued 6 minutes down the road to the restaurant here.
Easy to order. Lots of choices.
Food is ok. The decorations take you back in time to the wagon trail days. It give you a glimpse into the old times.
Great place to go grab some grub! Has a very "sit down" resturant vibe, however you get served like it's a fast food joint. The staff are super nice, and I always have a good experience whenever I'm here. Also, a WONDERFUL view of the river.
Man they weren't kidding when they said Charburger my chili burger was so overcooked and dried and it tasted burnt don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon other than that service was great
The salmon patty sandwich was delicious, the only saving grace of our stop. We were with a bus tour. We were seated together in a large room with little to no air conditioning and it was hot in there. We were told to serve our own ice for drinks (soft drink dispenser was out of order) and pick up our silverware and napkins. The only thing servers brought out was our orders, just called out what they were carrying and we had to hope we got what we ordered. Taste of food was the only positive of our experience.
Bartender was amazing. Food was great and the service was amazing. It was my 2nd time in a week going and il ride from Vancouver back up there again for their chicken sandwich and the service
Beautiful views!
Very low key place…which is the appeal of the place. Nothing fancy and very relaxed!
The food was great, as it was very straight forward and simple. I had a sourdough BLT and my daughter had clam chowder. We both thought that they were good.
The little gift shop was fun to visit as well, and full of unique items. They also had a candy section for some of their own cookies, candy, and fudge. Great little gifts for sure!
We look forward to visiting this restaurant again!
Great drive and views. Good restaurant food, but the gift shop cookies are worth the trip alone!
