Budget Car Rental, Portland OR

Very poor communication with extra charges and absolutely no warning or indication about the deposit. Put me in a difficult financial situation.

I'm a FastBreak member and they've never had the paperwork or car ready ahead of time. Have to wait in line every time.

We landed at PDX and looked for Budget and it was closed. There was no sign telling us that we should have gone to Avis. We had to find that out from some random person. We went to Avis and stood in line for 20 minutes and we were then told that we should go to Avis Preferred. There should have been a sign telling us that at the Avis desk. We wasted a lot of time due to complete lack of customer service. Oh, that's right, that's a thing of the past.

The interim period while the new car stand is being built is rough. If you need a vehicle between 10A - 6P you have to catch a shuttle and go offsite. Returning a car outside of these hours you're supposed to return to the airport. No signage or details for any return areas for Budget. After a few laps and time wasted we went to the office to wait until they opened. Once on the shuttle the driver said "Oh yeah you were just supposed to return to AVIS at the airport". This was never disclosed or posted ANYWHERE.

The Portland franchise is poorly located and poorly run. Long lines, extreme waits, few staff.

Car was not a premium car that I reserved it was a nissan pathfinder that rode like a Lumber wagon Car was dirty when we got it had to accept the car we just arrived from NY had no other alternative. Was overcharged. When reserving the vehicle I was Quoted $ 745.00 ended up paying over $ 1400.00. Customer service was terrible and very sarcastic. Will never rent from budget again.

Customer support was poor. The Budget office was shutdown at 6PM (Portland Airport), our plane arrived at 6PM, this was all known at booking. Called customer support & it was closed, redirect to national customer support, finally getting a message that it was closed, but I could give feedback on the website (WHAT A JOKE!). Finally figured out (after about 30 min) that Avis was handling Budget's rentals at PDX. It could have been made more clear at reservation time that Avis handles things at PDX. Automated PDX phone message could state that.

The line to pick up the car was pretty short and the customer service rep was quick. However, the car was double booked and when we went to pick up the car, another person was driving off in it.

Loved the car and experience.it was fast and hassle free. I rented the car for personal use because my own car was in the shop. From the cost to renting the car was a very smooth experience. The only down side, was and I believe the crew wasn't told about it, but there was a very strong gasoline smell whenever I got in it. When I returned it I made sure the receiving person knew and they should check it. Otherwise, I will rent from budget again!

It was a great experience. Once i figured out how to get to budget from the airport, everything went smooth. Quick check in and out. Friendly staff.

The rental process is not bad but this site does not open until 10: 00am and there is nothing on the website that states to go to the airport to turn in the rental. I had to go to the site to find that out. It should be stated somewhere so people won't go to the rental site and just go straight to the airport.

Fyde people didn't know debitcards don't rummage me miss a days vacation di to lack if knowing what is what. Cost me extra money. Would NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

When you book they don't inform you that the travel agency isn't actually at the airline, you have to travel to a different location on a bus. Basically figure it out for yourself situation. They didn't believe me that my spouse was my spouse because we didn't share the same last name. Had to wait over an hour just for them to pull the car around, but then when my flight was delayed they would never consider letting ME have the car for an extra hour for anything less than HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS EXTRA. And NEVER forget to get gas, we got charged $120 for half a tank of gas! Worst experience ever, you're much better going to alamo or national, we had a 5-star experience there for a better price.

Really helped me when the competitor left me out in the cold. Car was ready and very clean. Shuttle to airport was friendly and timely. Counter personnel very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend!

Friendly staff. Ease of p/u. Flight was changed resulting in drop off locale being closed. No problem dropping @ Avis in Airport.
