Bullards Beach State Park reviews
13Good overall campground plenty access to bathrooms with showers several different sections. Close access to the ocean and a great jump point to see attractions around this area.
This is probably the best state park we have ever been to. The staff were phenomenal, good-natured, and knowledgeable. The place was immaculate and beautiful. The evening forest talk at the amphitheater was delightful and highly informative. A wonderful walk to the lighthouse as well What a joy! We will be back, again and again.
Bullards Beach State Park is a top-notch campground. I've camped here on and off for the past 20+ years. It's quiet, there are multiple camp hosts on site, there are bathrooms AND hot showers, and it is reasonably priced ($38-$41 for a standard site with water, electricity, and sewage). Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. Yurts are also available.
On my most recent trip, I stayed in a tent and could hear the distant howls of coyotes and the pounding ocean waves. It was such a relaxing, fun, peaceful experience.
The only downside is reservations are required throughout the summer months. You have a greater chance of being struck by lightning than pulling in and expecting an available spot from late May to early September with no prior reservation. I often do spontaneous one-night trips, and I feel as if I won the lottery if I discover a cancellation online. To be on the safe side, plan on making reservations two to three months in advance - especially if you plan on staying more than two nights.
Overall, this is THE best campground I have ever stayed at, and I would highly recommend it.
EDITED TO ADD: My ONLY two complaints about Bullard's Beach State Park are that the showers aren't turned on until 7: 00 AM sharp (why? I like to leave early and this delays me. At least turn them on by 6: 00 AM!) and you are not not allowed to go to the lighthouse until 7: 00 AM (as a photographer, this means I can't capture the sunrise at the lighthouse for half of the year). Why not open the road from dawn to dusk instead?
I cannot recommend camping here because of the showers. They automatically stop unless a button is pushed. The buttons are about five feet up and require a firm press. If anyone in your family cannot reach the button, you will have to attend them in the shower. The buttons must be pressed every 30 to 50 seconds depending on which shower stall you use.
Best place to camp on the Oregon Coast. Loved everything about this place. It was clean, safe, quiet with programs for the whole family. Highly recommend this place.
Beautiful beach uncommercialized as beaches should be! A bit of a walk to get to but worth it!
Just awesome. Great beach. Good, clean, and well maintained facilities (hookups, restrooms, showers) for camping. It was also quite, not in the depressing way where our kids can't have fun but just no one blaring music until 1am, etc. We enjoyed the evening programs that were there and learning about cranberry farming which there is a lot in and around Bandon.
Good fishing nice place to walk dogs people are respectful to put there's on a leash when others are around or in passing by
Very clean campground. The sites our group used were of good size. I especially enjoyed seeing the wildlife strip through the campground.
Wonderfully designed park. Horse trails are tough to hike on foot due to uneven sand and can be flooded in places.
The yurts were so comfy & clean. Walk to the beach from camp was beautiful! Very well maintained campground. I would recommend
Love Bullard's Beach and we live Bandon! Always a great place to camp. They have camping for trailers, tents and there are yurts available. There is also horse camping available with trails leading right on the beach.
Clean place and friendly staff. Not so good for tent camping, though, as the vast majority of the camp sites do not have room for pitching a 4-person tent without being a few feet from the fire ring. This campground is far better for RV use or yurt renting because of the lack of facility for tent-only camping. We were told that if there is no room for pitching a tent on the grass or dirt in your reserved campsite, then you may pitch it on the asphalt vehicle pad (next to your car?). Theoretically, you can call the campground before making reservations and ask which campsites are tent friendly. (Those sites, by the way, are very few.) We were lucky as the campground was not full the nights we were there and the helpful staff shifted us to a nice site which happened to be available and we were able to actually pitch our 4 person tent.
