Great drinks, delicious vegan food (bbq bowl and spaghetti are my favorites). Great back patio if you can find a table, otherwise they do have a huge front patio as well with covered outdoor seating. Great for cute dog watching!

As someone with a dairy restriction this was such an amazing find while visiting from out of town. Their Mac and Cheese was one of the best I’ve had (vegan or not)

I’ll be honest- I hate vegan stuff. For many reasons… one of them sometimes being the un-healthiness of it all - Alright come at me! Being vegan doesn’t mean you’re healthy just like something that purports to be natural or not processed doesn’t mean it’s not processed or natural. It’s called marketing! And sorry -if it’s my health then I’m going to consider everything and decide. Anyway, the drinks … well done. I hate the ice cubes or crushed ice but i appreciate that this place makes flavorful and potent drinks. I tried the spaghetti - portion and taste was great. I tried whatever cake slice they had … I could taste the oils and the sugar (way too much). I think they’re on the right track but nothing sets them apart - they fit into the typical and not unique “I’m Portland weird “ category without being weird or unique. Vegan desserts are extra sweet per my experience in PDX and this place failed to prove me wrong. I’d say it’s not a hit or a miss - it’s more of a maybe -you’ll -get lucky -type of spots. It’s really plain old Oregon - if that’s you, then go for it - if you want more then you’ll be left wanting. (By more I mean something that doesn’t adhere to the Portland way of doing things).

Would not recommend this place. Their blonde bartender is incredibly rude. Tried to get drinks and she kept talking down at us the entire time while not making eye contact. She acted as though we were wasting her time. When another employee tried to speak to us, she cut her off and told her that she already spoke to us. If you want to deal with rude hipster employees, this is definitely the place for you! If you want to be treated like a person, I'd look elsewhere. When we moved to the PNW, we were told people were friendly, I guess she didn't get the message. Thankfully, there were other restaurants in the area to choose from that didn't treat us as nasty as this employee did.
Update: Looking at some of the other low ratings they received, it seems like minorities feel discriminated against here. I'm kind of glad (but disappointed) to know that I wasn't just feeling paranoid about feeling like that while we were here.

Everything about this place is a 5 star. I love this place. We were visiting from out of town and had a hard time leaving this place and their great cocktails.

Great hang out spot with friends or family! Had to show our photo Id at entrance. Great ambiance and they have a large outdoor seating. The random rules drink was amazing. We will definitely go back again this summer. Highly recommended this place if your celebrating something.

This is hands down one of my favorite spots in Portland! I love the space and the food never disappoints. The weeping tiger is my favorite menu item, it never gets old. My partner always orders the Italian sandwich. You also cannot go wrong with the pretzel knots! The service is awesome and the bartenders always have an upbeat positive attitude. They have great outdoor spaces both in the front and the back so they are able to accommodate fairly large groups. It is worth the drive from North Tabor

If you have any friends you want to convert to the cult of veganism, just take them to the Bye and Bye. Don't even tell them it's vegan-they won't know. Give them a couple of drinks, let them soak in the great atmosphere, and they'll never think of vegan food the same way again.

Delicious vegan bar food and creative cocktails and a really nice environment to kick back with friends. Plus plenty of things within walking distance to do after

I'm not vegan but loved the food here. Also bravo to the bartenders handling a pretty big rush when I was there for dinner on a Friday night. They worked quickly but were friendly and attentive. Also thank you for not forcing everyone to stand in a single line for drinks. (Check the sign!)

Delicious, airy and open space for a beer or cocktail. The vegan fare is so good, BBQ tempeh bowl was so tasty.

Awesome vegan spot with tons of seating (including outdoor patio), lots of bike rack spots, friendly staff, and very tasty vegan food. I tried the peanut tofu/broccoli bowl, the pretzel bites, and the mac & cheese.

Great vegan food, super cute vibe, chill people and reasonable prices. The chili Mac is spicy but good. The slice of cake was AMAZING.

Oh my! Great selection, super delicious food! The staff was friendly and patient (not very busy), but still handled business around us, while we carefully chose our meal. Pet friendly, kid friendly, and lots of outdoor space to enjoy.

The chipotle mac and cheese was delicious with cashew nut cheese.spectacular. Drinks were the 32 oz Bye and Bye. Refreshing and tasty. Just a heads up it is a vegan restaurant. I would highly recommend this place.

Southern vegan food, sounds crazy, but black eyed peas, vegan meet ball subs, barbecued tofu, greens, full bar and 2 patios, can't beat a better place to chill, have a beer and eat with good friends.
Not kid friendly, no kid menu, but this place knows how to cook the tofu, and they add it to everything. The barbecue Brussel bowl is a favorite. The meat ball sub is one of my favorite items on the menu. The greens have a kick and are usually perfectly cooked, and the spaghetti is enough for 2 meals. This place has comfort food that would not be expected. They serve a killer vegan breakfast, which must be new to me.
Their drink menu is large and colorful, Bloody Mary's, and mocktails.mimosa, michelada, and plenty of beers on tap. Do not make a line to order, read the sign

Over-cooked veggies, dry meal. I expected much more from a vegan restaurant. There was supposed to be a peanut sauce, but it was dry as a bone without a hint of peanut.

I have loved your buisness for years going baxk to the third day you where open. However when your paying your kitchen staff minimum wage with tip out or not I can't get down. 14.75 plus tips? Are you joking? We know the volume yall do. And we get it gets slow. But your staff's base wage should not be the minimum. The fact that the lightning bar collective is constantly hiring but does not understand this makes it hard to trust the food. If your not taking care of your staff how do I know your staff is taking care of me?
