Capital One Café, Portland OR

I have a checking account with them, and needed to deposit cash after hours. I ran into a sign that said the ATM in the secure foyer is no longer open at night. Meaning that if you need to deposit cash outside of business hours you're SOL. I realize downtown Portland can be intimidating for some folks but isn't a locked entryway safer than an external ATM on the street?
I love Peet's coffee and love the 50% off idea. But wish it was more of a bank and less of a
cafe.

This is a great place to experience working and hanging out while enjoying coffee.

- The coffee is great - drip is my preferred drink. However they have other great choices.

- Food does not look as appealing on the display shelf, but I did have their Signature Breakfast Sandwich (there's turkey sausage/or bacon), on brioche and it's the perfect size!

- This seems to be a joint venture because there's Capital One team members just hanging out and greeting people, they make you feel welcomed say hi when you step in and bye when you leave. However I don't know if their role is to sale, inform, or what. At first might make you seem like this place is for only Capital One members.

- Baristas, seem ok not the warmest engagement but hey it's just a coffee.

- What sets it aside is that it's a place where you can come and work out of. The upstairs is super nice and really cool, I see people having meetings there often.

Overall I would say step in and try the coffee explore the space, and maybe do what I will do next time and ask the Capital One team what they do.

Had a great experience here! We stopped in for a coffee and met Ella, a super helpful employee there! If you are a Capital One cardholder you get 50% off on drinks! I had their take on the pumpkin spice latte. It was really good! Lots of seating here. Non profit employees can use the work spaces and arrange meeting rooms. If you want to chat about banking they have a full time person on staff however it wasn't high pressure.

I have loved this cafe since it opened. The people who work here are great, and it’s a fantastic work space.

After finally caving and getting a CapitalOne checking account, I found myself in a really bad spot though. I assumed, like other banks. I would be able to enter a secure lobby area to withdraw cash. I tried over and over again to swipe my card in the door reader. Finally I gave up and looked around only to find sign saying the atms are closed after hours. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I then had to go to OnPoints atm which is outside and on a darker less busy street. I was drawing attention and became uncomfortable. These guys without license plates were following me. I made it home safe, but this all could have been avoided. I just wanted cash so I’d be ready to buy an antique piece of furniture from a couple off of Facebook. What is the point of an atm exactly if it can only be accessed during business hours? And why do I have to look for other atms when I am at my own banks building. This was truly a stressful and unpleasant experience. I don’t get why this is a thing.

I’ve been happy with their credit cards, but I don’t think their checking can compete with a real bank.

Not a review but a question: what are they doing about reducing plastics and other pollution and resource overuse in our disposable, disconnected-from-earth society?

Rude Baristas and messed up on my $7.00 drink! When people request specialty milk, please pay attention Highly expensive for what it was and my drink ended up being a waste due to being lactose intolerant

Great Place, a very nice place. I was impressed with how good they are with Capital One client's bank. Derek really helped me with my banking situation. I like it very much; I recommend Capital one Cafe coffee was good

This place is clutch! Not only was it an extremely clean and calm place to work from, Derek was an incredibly friendly and well versed employee. He spent time with me and showed me many things I didn’t know about my account & credit card options.

Ella helped me out today and was great! I was so confused about my new card but she made everything so simple! Wish everyone was like her.
