Service for oil change is taking longer and longer for 70$$ or more spent. The average time of 2-4 hours is not good service. It should be like it use to be, with an appointments of 1-2 hours max for oil/maintenance service!

Customer Service was excellent. No fault to them, but the way the dealership does business is slimy. I was initial told I was approved for a loan, I was handed the keys to the car, and a month later was told that I actually wasn't approved for the loan. So, essentially I was gifted a one rental and plenty of inconvenience. And to add insult to injury, they gave me a 25 dollar gift card as if that was suppose to make things right. If I could give them a zero star review I would have. Please do your research on dealerships before you get screwed over.

Raymond is an amazing and genuine person. Best service I’ve ever reviewed from a car salesman! Mike is an amazing asset to your management staff. Raymond I hope you get the opportunity to become a manager. You should be running the place!

My friend bought a car from here and I have gone multiple times for service on my car. Noah was the one who helped with my friend and was able to get the exact car she wanted. He is super helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He was able to get her payment to exactly where she wanted and made the process quick and easy. Definitely recommend!

I have been looking to buy my second car for a while. I started conversation via text and email with Leo and then he referred me to Devin, the sales person. I live in Portland and in order to make a trip to Salem to purchase the car I am interested, I needed to know some more details. Leo sent me the Carfax which I appreciate it. I asked about details like how many car keys would come with it and just normal stuff but no response for either of them. I asked if they covered Costco Program so no answer for that either. I am not sure at this point if I want to go to Salem and check out the car. I have been very clear with these 2 gentlemen what I am looking for exactly. I feel like the communication could be better as customer service. This is not my first car neither the last one I would finance. That made me think that it is better to do not purchase a car from this dealership and stop everything right now and not going forward. That is why I give 3 stars.

Worst place for vehicle service and repairs. Oil changes take 3 hours. Once you pay, still takes another 20 minutes to get your keys. I had an appointment at 9: 30am to have a water leak looked at, got a call at 3pm saying they had nobody to work on my vehicle and they might be able to fit it in the next day but no promises. Not sure what the point of having an appointment is. I’ll be finding another place to get my service work done.

This review is for service. Extra star for the rest of the store, good sales team. Been sitting in my car for over 20 minutes in the Express Maintenance bay currently. Service guys will walk by my car and not say a word. They'll chat with each other and laugh and stuff, but they won't tell me what's up. I'm pretty much the only one in here. I think a simple "I'll get to you in a moment" will make me feel better. Been coming here for several years and it's a similar feeling every time. I don't feel cared for as a customer.

First I have to say if you think car dealerships are all the same I would have agreed but now! Capitol Toyota is a game changer! Mitch Lucas is one of the kindest, caring and most helpful man I could've asked for! Everything was smooth from start to finish and David Williams was kind and they both took extra caution with cleaning to protect our ill daughter! This was a huge blessing for our family thank you!

Service takes longer than necessary even if you have an appointment. An oil change (no tire rotation or anything else) took over two hours and made me miss another appointment which led to a fee.

Billy Hamill was a pleasure to work with and made the buying process easy. I got what I thought was a fair deal and didn't experience any pressure or sales tactics at all. I'd happily seek Billy out again.

My son, daughter-in-law and grandson live in Portland, OR. They are expecting their second child and have two smaller cars. My wife and I live in Colorado. We decided to purchase a larger, more family sized vehicle for them. We have had Toyotas and are partial to them due to the great luck we have had. After a brief discussion, we found out that Siennas and Highlanders were definitely not the vehicles of choice. Thus - 4 runners. We have a 4 runner and love it. We agreed. I called several dealerships in the Portland area, Capital Toyota in Salem being one of them. Rory, the sales manager I believe, called me later one evening. We talked on the phone for about 20 minutes regarding a used, certified 4 runner they had and the process necessary to proceed forward. I was impressed with two things in that conversation. First, Rory called me later at night. Secondly, he was easy to talk to, has a great sense of humor, and lowered my anxiety level immediately with this process. Trust… He mentioned he would pair us with Billy and proceeded to identify a number of traits Billy possessed that made him a great salesperson.

Once my son decided a day/time to go to Salem, I texted Rory. He responded immediately even though it was a day off for him. We set a time for them to meet with Billy. Impressive!

At Capital…My wife had flown to Portland for a week to visit. She and my daughter-in-law went to Salem, as my son is in the medical field and was on call last weekend. Billy met with them and the vehicle they we looking at did not have 3rd row seats and that was the deal breaker. My daughter-in-law was very disappointed because she was very impressed with Billy and with the dealership overall. Warm, welcoming, a great atmosphere. And she was also impressed with the information I had provided my son and her about Rory. We did not purchase a vehicle from Capital. Later that day, Billy sent me a video of himself outlining the sales meeting and that the third row seat was important to them. He also had offered other vehicles which they considered but ultimately did not purchase. Classy video. They kept me in the loop because I was in Colorado and had initiated the process.

When looking for vehicles, there will be a number of options available to people. There is always a “deal” out there. To me, the most important aspect is the people at the dealership. Capital is awesome! Integrity, character, honestly, strong moral fiber, trust, excellent communication skills, do what they say they will do. The immediate responses and follow through with Rory and the “after no deal” video from Billy were superb. I was about ready to tell my family to turn around and go back to buy that dang 4 runner and we would put a couple of chairs in the back for the third row seating!

When considering a vehicle, definitely consider Capital. You will be treated like royalty regardless of whether you purchase a vehicle or not. Keep up the great work Rory and Billy. You are the best!

Sales department was solid. I know this because I’ve purchased at this location and I have only good things to report. I give them a 5/5.

The service department is not nearly as good. When I ask a question to reception and they need to refer to a manager or someone else, that person doesn’t ever seem to ever be available. So, I leave voicemails. This has happened on a number of occasions over the years. Most recently, Elijah wasn’t available nor does he return his voicemails. One of the mechanics, Phil, gives wrong information as a measure to not do work. Or, I’m told the service department is overwhelmed and cannot provide service. Sales gets a 5. Service gets a 2.3 overall. If you want to buy a vehicle here, I recommend. If you expect smooth service for your vehicle, go to a local mechanic.

The dealer is a upgraded nice building the sales person Andrew he a great guy he going to bat for finance and trying to get the right car for me I have had bad pas for bad sales staff not. Andrew he kind and professional but a car from Andrew ask for him when you show up at the dealership guys these people don’t play games they get a approval before you drive the car off the lot the process is easy and quick as long you have your paperwork in order. Salem Toyota is a great dealership.

I have had the best service here while purchasing my new 2023 Toyota RAV4. Josiah and Kelly made the entire process absolutely enjoyable and easy. They had exceptional customer service and were able to answer any and all my questions during the entire process. The atmosphere of the dealership was inviting and everyone I interacted with were amazing.
Ask for either Josiah or Kelly! They have outstanding customer service!
I highly recommend Capitol Toyota if you’re in search of a new vehicle!

I had the pleasure of working with Mitch Lucas. He was such a joy to work with for my new car purchase! Not only was he knowledgeable and not pushy, he went above and beyond to make sure my experience was world class! (I have over 20 years of world class experience as a food and beverage manager at some of the most prestigious private clubs and resorts in the country, so I know great service when I see it!) Mitch even sent my kids a fun video text message, thanking them and hoping they enjoy their new ride! I will be telling everyone I know to work with not only Mitch, but the entire Capitol Auto Group! It was worth the drive from Portland! Thanks for the great experience Mitch!

Bought a car from Capitol Toyota with my parents. We were set up with Billy, he is friendly and outgoing. I recommend setting an appointment with him and especially if you’re a first time buyer.
