Captain John's Motel, Charleston OR

My family frequents this hotel when we come crab on the coast. They are very friendly and have great prices. The rooms may be a little out dated but you’re right on the ocean and I was hardly in my room. They allow pets in certain rooms and were very accommodating. We will always continue to use them.

My room was clean and the bed was comfy. The price was right and you can't beat the location.

Terrible expensive amenities none. Removed hair from the bath tub drain. Water pipes from other room so noisy. Rug had stains no coffee stirring and had to leave a cash deposit

I don't stay in the motel but my friend is there at the motel 2 weeks ago for her anniversary weekend she stayed a few nights or maybe three i was there with the friend that was in the motel with her husband I was with her

Great place, close to the harbor! Great rates and clean rooms! Staff is friendly and helpful!

Staff is really friendly and accomodated my early arrival. Thus, two stars. The room was OK, but very outdated. Thin walls, non-sealing window and door. The door connecting my room with another room (which I did not want) let every noise in from the other room. The opposite room and the upstairs room were also very loud. Squeaking floors above, water running, hearing them use the bathroom, car noise directly in front of the window. It was too loud for me. I booked two nights, but stayed one. I went to the office to see about a refund for the second night, but no one was around and no one came. I left and considered my second night's cost as a loss. If desperate, stay here. Otherwise, drive into north bend or coos bay for a better option.

I literally can’t say enough, good place stuff about this place, we rolled in at like 3 AM and Sabrina helped us, it’s clean and nice and friendly. Close to the ocean. Absolutely love it and highly recommend it! Thank you Sabrina!

Rooms were very clean and comfortable walls are thin but that is the only issue I had.
The lady working was very kind and was able to check me in at a pretty late hour.

Loved this motel! Super friendly staff, pretty flowers, clean rooms. Only complaint was the bed was too soft!

Great place to stay. First time in Charleston and I love that little town. The room was clean, the motel was in a great location and the service was awesome. Specifically the lady who I dealt with during my stay (unfortunately didn't get her name). She made me feel like I was truly a guest and not just a customer. Great service and kudos to you! Will definitely come back and am already telling people to check it out.

The place is great, the hotel is well located but the rooms need a little refreshment

We were able to drive out to catch crabs and use a room there to cook and eat crabs

Gas has to be paid extra which is a small disadvantage

Always the best customer service of any hotel I visit from coast to coast. Clean well appointed rooms along with outstanding customer service is what makes them #1 in my book. Their crab cooking room is one of a kind. Everything is supplied except the crab. Best hotel on the Oregon coast.

The best hotel we had on our route. Purely. Quiet. Plenty of parking. Friendly hotel administrator.
Cozy lobby. There is coffee and hot water in the lobby, it seems like 24 hours a day.
For $15 you can rent a kitchen in your room. You just need to clean and cook seafood outside, there is a special place.
For breakfast, which starts at 7, fruits are served: apples, bananas, pears. Baked goods packaged in bags. Tea.
Everything is great. We wish the hotel prosperity.
Next time we will definitely stop.

This is a great hotel to stay at when in Charleston Oregon. Close to restaurants, marina, store's, beaches, marine college/institute and more. I've met so many wonderful people. Awesome here! Thanks

I absolutely love this little place, Close to several parks that I love, Close to the Harbor for fishing and fresh crab. They make you feel like family.

Place was OK but needs a MAJOR updating of many things inside. The towels, sheets and blankets were all basically rags that should be thrown away. Not even joking. The TV was a Sanyo from 1995 and you could not even give that thing away. Why bother paying all that money for Satellite Cable TV when you have guest watching shows on a 25 yr old TV screen? The two chair seats both had stains that looked like someone soiled themselves on it. The owners could replace those things for $200 per room and it would be a major Upgrade. Replace the carpet and maybe it wouldn’t smell like a musty old basement too

The fridge & microwave were ok. The painting on wall is nice. The location is good with several seafood restaurants around.

Nice rooms, affordable, unfortunately owner is not very fluente in English and does not know the process to send phone calls to guests or figure as to why with the password and all could not figure why WiFi didn't work? They were however friendly. And they did try which was encouraging.
