The entire experience was very pleasant. The online offer and on-the-premise appraisal were the same and quite a bit better than dealer trade-in offers.

This was my first time getting s car through car max and it was so easy. Nick was super helpful and made things go so smoothly. No haggling. The prices were much better than the cars at all the other dealerships we looked at. And we didn’t have to feel like we had to barter with anyone. We knew which car we wanted to test out and after we made the decision we were in and out in a couple hours. We got to take the car out and took a little spin to finalize the decision. We got a great rate on the financing. We didn’t have to be tossed around from person to person. Nick was our guy from start to finish.

They noticed that one of the tires needed to be replaced due to a small bubble and they just took care of that right away and even gave me a rental while it was being taken care of.

We will definitely be using them for the purchase of our future cars.

A pleasant greeting, which resulted in a person to experience. My QR code wouldn’t read at at the entrance (Grrr). The steps were laid out nicely, the inspection went well, the quote was honored!
Received my bank draft in a timely manner.
I would recommend Carmax without hesitation.

We found a 2018 Mini Cooper Countryman on your website in Beaverton. We live on the other side of the city, but we did not want to wait to have it transferred to the Clackamas store.

We made an appointment the day prior for a test drive. We were prepared to pay cash today it if we liked it after the test drive.

We were greeted by a nice young lady who said we could go out on the lot and look the car over while we waited for a salesman.

We went out and searched the lot. Not finding the car, we returned inside.

We were called to the desk by Thomas, (I only know his name because of his name tag because he didn't introduce himself to me and ignored my wife.)

Thomas asked what we were hoping to accomplish today, I told him I wanted to check out and test drive the Mini. And if we could come to a mutual price, we would buy. Thomas told me there is no negotiating, the price is the lowest price. I told him I still wanted to do the test drive. Though more than we wanted to spend, I would still purchase.

I also told him the car was not in the lot. He didn't acknowledge me. He just said let's go out and check out the car. I told him again, it was not out there. He just directed us to wait in the lot while he scanned my license.

He came out and said the Mini's are on the back side of the lot. I told him again, the car was not there. We walked over to the Mini's and he could not find the car either.

He then walked off leaving my wife and I in the lot. He was gone about 5 minutes and returned saying the car was behind a wall.

He asked if we knew it was a manual transmission. I told him yes, that was what we were looking for. He said he would have to get someone to drive to us, he doesn't know how to drive a manual.

He found another salesman who said he had to take care of a couple of things, then would come get the car for us.

I took advantage of the time to check out the interior. I noted there was a stain on the back seat. Thomas said not to worry about that, they will do a deep cleaning of before we took delivery. I noted there were a couple pieces of plastic molding, one on the back seat, and two in the trunk.

I asked what those went to. Thomas told me they must have fallen off. (No Kidding) but not to worry, they would have Service check the car before we took delivery.

The other salesman came over to drive the car out for us. But the car would not start.

Thomas told me they must have noticed the problem, which is why the car was where it was, to get it ready for our appointment.

I said, if the car was not able to start, it would have been nice to have been contacted to reschedule. We drove from across town.

Thomas just looked at me.

The other salesman said, he should contact Service, Thomas said he had.

But he did not provide ANY information. He didn't apologize, He didn't try to get the car jumped, he didn't ask if we would be willing to come back later after Service had a chance to work on the car. He didn't do anything.

My wife and I then walked off, visibly annoyed. Thomas did show us a way to get to the parking lot without having to go through the store.

My wife and I left and bought a car on Carvana.

The sales experience at CarMax was great. However, my experience with the business office is another story. I'm having issues with negotiating the bank draft because of my poor credit rating. I realize my credit rating is my own issue, but I desperately need the money from the bank draft and they refuse to give me a cashier's check. I would think a company like CarMax, could accommodate a loyal customer like me in this situation.

To start I would add photos but my truck is in the shop due to my brake pads being at 0millimeters within 1k miles of the truck being bought. They should have been replaced completely before I even purchased the vehicle. Second I was told my warranty would cover 125,000 miles on top of the current mileage of the vehicle. After getting approved by financing and going to purchase the vehicle was I told I am only warrantied up to 125,000 miles, which was a surprise and a huge bummer, third I was given a truck which I was told was not detailed and it literally had stains on the seats and center console, fourth problem was they obviously repainted the truck and their is paint all over the inside of the truck somehow, their is white pant on the leather arm rest for the center console which obviously came from the paint outside. Not very pleased with my experience especially since they knew I was driving 10 hours home with 0mm brake pads.

Their service did not live up to their reputation. The sales staff had no knowledge about even the basic maintenance status of the vehicle and did not even try to tell me. He repeated that I should call back when the mechanical staff is back. I asked about the condition of the timing belt on the car I bought and the sales staff said he had no knowledge about it and that he is not in charge of it. When I told him about my job in financial processing, he even seemed to mock me. Their performance seemed completely unrelated to their evaluation. Oh, great. Then, I could do his job without any knowledge about the vehicle I am supposed to sell. I am not frustrated because of just their ability and knowledge but the attitude. Isn't the sale's staff working based on their service quality? After purchasing the car, I called again and inquired about the condition of the timing belt of the vehicle I purchased, but even the mechanicals staff was also not very knowledgeable about it. I was only told the results I found through Googling. I don't know why the vehicle is so expensive even with that low quality of service. The service is terrible, and they have no knowledge of the cars they are selling. They say they will refund me unconditionally within one month, so should I do that? Let me check my own way to find out that the price of the vehicle was reasonable then I will decide. It was not really good experience to purchase in the Bearton CarMax. Oh! Actually, I also visited 2-3 weeks ago, but the sales staff that day was very nice and great. He was there when I visited this time on Saturday (10/29). I should ask them that I could be scheduled by the better staff. It was my mistake. Sorry for forgetting his name. I give this one star for him.

We went to look at a Toyota Tacoma that we saw posted on our app. When we arrived, we were greeted by Sterling, who informed us that the Tacomas were on the 3rd floor. Here's the kicker.the elevator was out of order, and I had foot surgery and am unable to use the stairs. Only my husband was able to make the walk up the stairs. The entire time spent with me waiting in the lobby and my husband looking at the Tacoma, not a single soul asked if we needed any help. We were unable to find anyone to ask any questions. I received more help from another customer holding the door open for me for the restroom than we did from the staff.

This was the worst car company I have ever tried to work with, I know people warned me about them their cars were late and damaged on delivery, but I went in for a quote/ appraisal the man helping me was a totally rude D$#%, out of the gate, and they said they would give me an offer not a appraisal which doesn't reflect the price of my vehicle but what they would buy it for, don't go to carmax they are worse then dealerships.be smart shop elsewhere. I promise you can have better interactions with a dealership. Pay attention to the reviews here there are so many 1 star reviews, explains how good they really are.

This picture shows the car I purchased to include the weather floor mats. When I picked up the car the floor mats were gone. When I asked if I could have my mats back, they told me to come back in with a picture proving the car had the mats when I agreed and signed for the purchase. Well here it is

We bought a car from Carmax three weeks ago, my son heard some weird noise while he is driving, I’m wondering what’s the process to make an appointment for someone to look at it. No body answering my call after we tried so many times. So we just drive it back?

I went in for a scheduled appointment to have my car appraised. The quote provided had the wrong trim level selected. I was told I could not speak to the appraisal team as they were "too busy. " The manager on the duty called and verified no one actually looked at my vehicle and the quote provided was from the online quote tool which I filled out myself. I would not recommend CarMax to anyone based on the horrible customer service I experienced.

I bought a second car from Car Max, and my experience was totally different from my first purchase. The pictures on the internet description page for the vehicle clearly show that two keys are coming with the car, but it turned out that the vehicle comes with one key. It was a huge hassle to get the second key. I had to talk to multiple Car Max employees and spent many days to get my second key.
