Childhood Health Associates of Salem reviews
14Carrie might be the rudest person I've dealt with whose primary job is public interaction. She needs some serious attitude reflection or to look for other employment where she has 0 interaction with other people. From reading the other reviews on here it's a common theme and not someone just having a bad day. Also, canceling appointments 2 hours before start due to air quality is unacceptable. It should be up to the parent not a business what is best for the child. Requiring 24hr notice from your patients for any cancelation but having lower standards for yourself is wrong. Avoid this place and take your kids elsewhere.
I would like to speak directly to the owner regarding my concerns but when I asked the receptionist Carrie how I can speak to the owner she would not answer me.
Owner please reply and let me know how I can get in touch with you directly.
Thanks
I was planning on taking my newborn here, but after a phone call with a receptionist named Carrie I decided to change. My family has always gone here and had great experiences; however, I am a first time mother and decided to call to speak to an advice nurse regarding Covid and safety precautions for my newborn and was talked to inconsiderably by Carrie. She told me that the advice nurse could not give me advice because my son was not born yet and not a patient of there’s. She also made me feel unknowledgeable with my questions that I wanted to ask. I am a first time mother who is very worried about brining a newborn into this world with a virus going around and I simply would have appreciated a little more respect and understanding. I am not going to bring my child to a place where I as a mother, don’t feel comfortable asking questions, even if they are considered silly. I know Carrie does not reflect the Doctors care, but if I have to speak to her whenever I call or get to the office, it is not worth it. It saddens me because like I said, my family has gone here throughout the years, but it looks like it is time to change.
We have been taking our 5 year old here since he was born. We are grateful for Dr. Helm and Brian Mills both! They’re both great with our son, they are both empathetic and are always such good listeners, which I think can be rare these days. We always feel supported and our concerns are thoughtfully considered.
FIRE DR. HELM! This place gave my daughter no treatment for her chest contractions she was throwing up from coughing and the doctor tried to make assumtions as to saying i smoke in the car which i dont drive and my kids are hardly ever in the car and and I NEVER smoke with my kids in the car and my daughter being diagnosed with asthma they did nothing for her illness no treatment no antibiotics no tests nothing it was like they didn't care and just rushed us out the door now I have to take my daughter to the ER that night her fever spiked up to 103 and they did nothing but look in her ears and mouth my daughter and I were wrongly treated and I have been bringing her here since she was born and he litterly didn't diagnose her with anything and sent her out the door what kind of medical center for children does that.
Dr Lace is the best doctor. I no longer live in Oregon but anytime i question the doctors where i live now i will call dr.laces office and speak to a nurse to see if what the other doctors are saying is correct. I have 7 kids and 4 of them use to go to this office. Hands down to this office all the doctors including my fav DR. LACE
Went for infants cough got no help no antibiotics got nothing got blown off by the doctor this place had 20 patients in the lobby no where to sit down the outside had spit and throw up on the ground. 0 star if possible I feel wronged by this place.
We love them so far! Just moved back here from Washington and brought in our 3 month old for her vaccinations. She also needed a head ultrasound to check for hydro encephalopathy. The doctor called us within hours of the ultrasound with the results. They got us in quickly for her first appointment. All the staff and Dr. Terry are great. The only downside is when we call and have to go through the operator to talk to a nurse you can sit on hold for quite a while. But it’s worth it for after hours care.
I have been bringing my children And grandchildren here for 28 years! I love the nurses and dr's.
We have a baby due soon so we came in person to check the place out and ask a few basic questions. The girl at the front desk was extremely unhelpful, told us to call them, and all but shoved us out the door. There was no one waiting in the lobby either so it’s not like she had other patients to attend to. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere for our child’s healthcare needs.
My 26 to are old visited this office since birth and now my 12 year old son has been going there all his life. Much has changed over the years yet I won't complain about this office, as they service many children in this area, are fairly easy to get an appt, and even the receptionist are resourceful. I have no intention of switching medical care for my son. Thank you Dr.lace especially, for the 26 years taking care of my kiddos! I am grateful and now very lucky to have Krisi taking care of my 12yr. Old.
So far good experience with the doctors and nurses. The waiting room though is noisy and has an industrial feel to it. Also, the check in process is irritating, they use a third party service that asks if they can use your information to market to you, be sure to click on the option every time to not share your information. It would be nice if it was unchecked by default and your selection was a permanent opt-out. They need to change this service as I am sure people think they need to check yes on it in order to check-in.
I love how personal the doctors are. The staff are professional care givers that show the greatest respect towards their colleagues and their patients. The doctors are prompt and professional. They show empathy to the parents as well as the children. It's a safe place to take children to. One of the doctors came to visit one of their patients in the hospital. He had an asthma attack and was sent to Salem hospital. She came right down to see him and to comfort the (visibly shaken) parents. I saw that and switched to Childhood Health Associates of Salem.
My son has been a patient there for about 3 years. Never before today did I have to deal with a rude receptionist who basically said because we are on ohp we wouldn’t pay our bill if ohp didn’t cover it. I’ve been fighting with insurance for a few weeks and finally get it resolved today and they won’t make me an appointment because it hasn’t posted yet. It will literally be posted anytime. My son can’t hear and therefore cannot talk and do you think little miss receptionist cares? No because we are on ohp and obviously won’t pay our bill if my insurance doesn’t go through. Doesn’t matter that a little boy can’t hear or speak. She spoke to me with the rudest attitude and continued to talk down to me and insinuated I was lying about my insurance going through today. And cut me off while I was explaining what we found out about his ears like she doesn’t even care. On their website they promise to serve all patients. We are a patient and we were refused service. It should say we promise to serve all patients unless they are on government assistance.
