Chinook Landing Marine Park reviews
11Needs more passenger car parking and clean her bathrooms. Otherwise it’s a great location.
Very tight lanes for launching a boat. Hard sometimes to navigate the coming and going of boats because it is tight. Know what you are doing if you go here.
I am a kayaker. Crazy enough to take my 14.6 foot kayak almost anywhere. But there are a few things to be aware of about this launch point.
As you leave the boat landing and enter the main river there are two islands that create and eddy and stronger current in the area. If you are floating down river with a pull out west of the boat landing you are fine, but if you plan to paddle back you are going to have major issues with passing boats, under tow, eddy’s, current and tides. You need to understand all these things to drop a canoe or kayak here and plan on returning. I made it back but I had to roll my kayak over land to port the posts that run at the top across the island.
I stayed over night on the first small island with a hammock and no fire. It was amazing. My car was safe overnight with a two day park pass in the window. And local firefighters loading their boat, helped and loaded mine for me. Awesome way to end the trip.
This place is great! Close to home and always entertaining watching folks trying to get their watercraft in and out of the water. Lol.
A great place to launch a boat, sit on a sandy beach or just watch the sunset. Get a season park pass or buy a day pass at the entrance.
The video and photos do it zero Justice. Especially in a 78 degree, no wind, and calm water setting like Chinook.
Infested with bugs, unmaintained, and it's a $5/day fee. Honestly one of the worst parks I've been to.
Such a simple and beautiful place to visit when I am in The Portland Oregon area. Such a simple place to come and sit to get a pice of mind
Love this place. Tons of driftwood now that the water line has receded. There were TONS of mosquitoes that were horribly persistent so bring repellent! (That's the only reason for a 4 & not a 5)
Pretty view of the river. A few pokestops and a gym there too. Public restroom. Very busy when it's nice outside.
I was close to this location I was playing disc over a Blue Lake where they throw deer carcass in the bushes and it stinks that can't be sanitary plus there's dead bird all over the place and Dead Rabbits I think there's even been a dead body down there of a human just bring hand sanitizer with you you'll be fine I think
