Chris is a true professional who worked long distance with my son, Fred. He was instructive and patient and Fred had an inclusive and beneficial time with Chris's tutoring! His bass playing has come on in leaps and bounds. Highly recommended!

As an adult learning a new skill, Chris was a great teacher. I have a background in piano but wanted to learn the guitar (which I've owned for many years without having made any success with online learning/self-guided classes etc.). Chris did a great job coaching me through the basics at a pace that matched my previous experience without ever talking down to me. He was incredibly organized and matched my level with the music I was interested in learning, and adapted songs I knew to my skill level in a way that was both achievable and developed skill. There was consistent structure in classes and I knew what to expect going in each week.

Chris has a deep understanding of musical theory and a broad range of instruments. He does a great job of discussing theory to the level that you're interested in, and in my case, tailored the music theory to their more applied concepts, woven in through the songs we were learning rather than (as in my previous piano experience) rote learning. It solidified my own understanding of music and helped create new connections with music across different instruments.

I highly recommend Chris as a teacher for any level and experience, as he easily customizes content. Also, kudos to Chris for making Zoom lessons work so well, and understanding how to share sheet music, demonstrate proper technique, and evaluate current progress through a virtual environment in a COVID world.

My 11yo & 12yo kiddos have been taking weekly guitar lessons with Chris for over 6 months now. Thy were both brand new to the instrument. Over this time learning from Chris, they have established solid basics and grasped the introduction to the instrument. He uses appropriate nomenclature and challenges the kids w/ their own interests and passions in music. Chris sets reasonable practice and weekly homework expectations. Visuals I can review and support.

Chris Friesen Music has been great to work with. My son has piano lessons with Chris. So far Chris has been very professional and easy to communicate with. Chris works with my son on what he wants to learn keeping it interesting for my son, therefore teaching him to read music and play piano. We have enjoyed the lessons so far. When covid hit Chris didn’t skip a beat and now we are doing digital lessons from home. Things are going great. Highly recommended
