Cicoria Pizzeria reviews
17The pizza is very good and the service was top notch. Great spot to have a date night. The atmosphere is very cool as well!
It was pretty overpriced, but a good spot for a big group where it will likely appeal to the masses. You want a delicious pizza hit Lombardos on Lombard and Portsmouth.
We ordered mushroom pizza but the mushrooms were pretty sparse. Sad! I wanted to love it.
It's disheartening to share that I had an unfortunate encounter with the manager, Tyler (or Taylor). Their behavior left much to be desired, and I couldn't help but wonder how someone in the service industry could exhibit such rudeness.
Tyler, I sincerely hope that you consider seeking the support you need, whether it be therapy or any other means, to address any personal issues that might be affecting your interactions with others. Treating people kindly and respectfully is a cornerstone of the service industry, and it's a skill that can be honed and improved
Please be aware that this place has a 20% obligatory tip for parties of any size, so add that the the prices you see.
An obligatory "gratuity" is not a tip but a service charge, which I don't mind paying at all. However, if you charge a service charge, the custom is to either include that in your prices or post it somewhere so that people are aware.
First off, you should know there’s included gratuity of 20%. I dislike tipping culture and want the staff to be paid fairly, so I really like this. 20% is my standard tip anyway. The server notified me of the included gratuity when she brought the check.
I had a fantastic cocktail, enjoyed the great service, and loved the long booths and beautiful ambiance.
The pizza could have been slightly better. The white pie was overly oily without much other than herbs to balance the flavors. Lemon juice might help? Perhaps this one is just not for me. It was a delicious thin crust, and I’ll be back to try the other pizzas.
The kid’s menu cheese pan pizza was on the thick side for pan pizza and was mildly sourdough. Most kids would probably prefer not to have a hint of sourdough flavor. I absolutely loved it though. Next time I’ll order a cheese pizza for my kid from the regular menu.
I really, really enjoyed the kale salad on its own, but would have preferred something with brighter flavors and less olive oil when paired with the pizza I ordered.
We had a large group on a Saturday night, and Cicoria was the perfect place for us all to enjoy dinner together. The pizza was fantastic, and the party slices were so easy to share amongst the group! And do NOT skip the appetizers. We had the mozzarella sticks and the fried “pickles” and both were phenomenal (I still think about the fried sun-dried tomatoes and that oozy cheesy mozzarella). The drinks were a hit too - we went during Negroni Week and they had a few specials, in addition to an already awesome cocktail menu.
Maybe the best pizza in Portland, and such a fun location. The beers came out in frosty mugs and were perfect. So good!
We were going to go here but while looking at the menu it states they charge 20% on every tab. Outrageous I must say. Never mind won’t be eating here.
This was a great date night place. Pizza was delicious. Lots of cheese. Ceaser salad was one of the best. It wasn't overly creamy but had a ton of flavor. Also got the mozzarella sticks which were good. Definitely not the processed kind. Great happy hour prices Staff was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend
So amazing! Food, service! Will definitely be back! Also a fun surprise running into family
Cute place - good pizza and drinks! Perfect for date night or to catch up in a nice area. TVs to watch games too!
We LOVED the bright and mysterious Not Harvey Wallbanger cocktail and the pepperoni pizza was SO good. After sampling lots from the menu, I would return over and over for these.
The crust here is divine - the perfect amount of chew and crisp - so you won’t be disappointed if you branch out.
Our waitress was patient with our group and she had an overall kind personality. The service definitely lived up to the 20% tip that was included.
Correction: The pizzaiolo Will Wells, is very talented and more than entitled to all the credit for the fantastic pies he creates.
Chef's kiss - absolutely delicious.
Superbly created pizzas with highest quality ingredients. The pizzas we ordered were all equally delicious!
The service was of the highway order as well.
My go to restaurant whenever I travel to Portland!
Great pizza here, not your standard thick and doughy pizza but thin and crisp with delicious toppings. We had the white pie, followed by chocolate hazelnut gelato.
Food is underwhelming. Outside seating is incredibly slow. I recommend sitting inside, it’s more comfortable too. They’re still figuring out outdoor orders staff said. We waited over an hour last night for our food and drinks after the waiter took our order twice. They were not even busy yet no one acknowledged this error and we were charged auto gratuity without any comps for our disappointing experience. Won’t return >_<
We went here on a Friday. It was an hour wait to be seated, and when we were, we were told it would be 45 minutes for pizza. No worries, it's Friday, they are busy and we are happy to wait for quality pizza. Pizza arrives, it is decent. Most egregiously, when the check was delivered, the server then let us know that there's an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill. I get it, business is expensive and you need to pay for staff. I'm happy to tip, but this extra charge which they don't inform you about ahead of time is frankly ridiculous. They then had the audacity to ask for an additional tip on top of this charge.
We have to draw the line somewhere. It's totally unacceptable to have a 20% service charge without clearly disclosing this at the door. Avoid this deceptive business!
Update: The business owner responded, but I want to point out that their response was deceptive. I did not see this policy on their menu. They say it is on their resy site, we walked in and reserved at the front desk so naturally the Resy site wasn't even used, and the front desk person at no point mentioned this additional charge. They also say this is clearly disclosed on their website, this is actually frankly false. If you click past several submenus you can find this disclosed but in no way is is clearly evident from the outset. Clearly they realize this policy is far outside the norms of restaurants and seek to hide and obfuscate this policy from their customers until after the bill is received. It is a shame that this business resorts to deceptive business practices instead of being honest with with their customers.
Amazing experience, great staff and flavorful food. We loved the fried pickles and the apple/fennel sorbet.
