Compass Oncology - West Cancer Center, Tigard OR

I am just getting started with this clinic but am concerned with the lack of support and information. I had a hysterectomy last week but recieved no pre- op or post op instructions. I called both times and sasked for some instructions and they answered my questions one by one but still never got real instructions. Seems like that would be standard procedure? I was to have a CT scan this week and they told me to call and schdule but failed to send the order over, so after waiting on hold for 20 minutes to schedule, I had to then call the clinic to ask them to please take care of this asap.
I do not find the staff to be caring or even cordial at times and the long long wait times on hold are really exhausting.
Perhaps this clinic needs a good strong general manager to review all processes and tighten up the customer care processes.

This is THE premier place to be if you or a loved one has cancer. The doctors are amazing, the nurses are amazing and the caring staff provides great service. I feel well informed and cared for while going through breast cancer treatments.

I have always received professional care and support from my Team, Dr Schnadig, NP Tawna Pangborn and others.

The treatment I receive from the medical professionals at this clinic is outstanding. I am constantly frustrated, however, by the failure of some of the administrative staff to respond to me in a timely manner and follow through on my concerns and inquiries. It is a tedious process to attempt to schedule, for example, any scans at another medical facility. What should take hours or days ends up taking weeks, which can be critical in terms of dealing with health issues. They really need to do better!

Comfortable surroundings, knowledgeable staff, friendly nurses. What's not to like? The Doctors and their staffs are top rated, working in an up to date and comfortable building. The Nurses are wonderful, and the infusion ares are bright and friendly.

I feel compass has helped me get thru my cancer journey. I am 6 years pass my last chemo. Follow up has been so good and kindness exemplary.

It was a great visit as always. Dr. Schuler and staff were very kind and exact. He released me, so unless something else happens I won't see him again. I'm still under Dr Pham's care for now.

I have been very impressed with all my appointments and the information I have received from Compass Oncology. Dr. Pham spends a lot of time explaining about the cancer. I feel very secure being under his care. How caring and understanding the whole team was. I'm 100% living a more comfortable life

My experiences with Compass Oncology have proven to be exceptional. First with my wife's (Lorraine M. Kay) Oncologist Dr. Chang, at your previous facility in Tualatin. And now for my Oncologist, Dr. Schnadig.

Dr. Schnadig is professional, campassionate, and someone that is extremely easy tocommunicate with. Dr. Schnadig listens and processees what I have communicated.

Never would I recommend this clinic. I had a consult with Dr Zinke for stage 2B triple negative breast cancer. He did not listen to my concerns, was rigid, arrogant and lacked empathy. He made false promises saying he could “cure” me as long as I did exactly as he stated. I asked if he would sign a document guaranteeing. He said he couldn’t. He then told me he would not “allow” me to do certain holistic treatments outside of SOC. He cut me off for the entire consult. Threw out life expectancy statistics. Nobody should hear those! Mindset is everything for healing! Talked down to me and was just an overall awful experience that left me feeling anxious, hopeless and sad. Not only that, he did not order the correct lab tests to even suggest me doing immunotherapy. Simple lab work that says if I have the correct marker for immunotherapy to work. Absolutely irresponsible. I also met with Dr Dunham for a surgical consult. Not only did she give horrible nutrition advice (she said sugar doesn’t feed cancer. Eat whatever you want. Good grief). She also did a botched job on my port placement. I have had 5 infusion nurses, at 2 clinics (oncology and naturopathic), comment that it’s one of the worst they’ve seen. It has caused continual pain and the tube in my neck is protruding and catches on so much. The incision is directly over the port, which means the access goes directly through scar tissue each time it’s used. The port should be above or below the incision, not directly underneath. Upon waking from that placement, and still groggy, she tried to tell me I had upgraded from one stage to a higher stage and would need multiple surgeries. No testing. No waiting until I was fully coherent. No follow up. The care coordinator is unfriendly and never followed up. I have since been seen by another oncologist. I have had no surgery. No radiation. No dense dose chemo. In 10 weeks, I am close to remission with low dose chemo, cryoablation and holistic/lifestyle changes. Minimal side effects and such amazing respectful care from my oncology team. No pressure. Always showing compassion and a true desire to see their patients fully healed. Never speaking negatively. Ever.

Please do your research. If they offer immunotherapy, demand the appropriate testing. For keytruda, for it to be effective, you must be positive for PD-L1,
per the manufacturer’s website. Compass does not test for this! Otherwise, it causes more harm than good. Advocate for yourself. Don’t be fear mongered by these people. There are other ways to heal without destroying yourself. Also encourage you to ask them how they handle cancer stem cells. They won’t answer it because they don’t address them. That is the main cause for metastasis and recurrence and Compass does nothing. They are the epitome of a profits-focused clinic and it’s gross. Use Google to research. I am thankful I have great research skills and went in prepared.

Two positives. Front desk staff is amazing. Extremely friendly and efficient. Lab techs were amazing, as well!

The staff at this Compass Oncology location, from check in to the doctors, and the nurses to the techs, are all friendly and compassionate, and knowledgeable and helpful and kind. If you have to go through any type of cancer care, they will give you the best possible care!

Doctors and Staff are friendly and empathetic to radiation I am having. Ready to answer any and all questions. Appointments are on time!

I think dr. Winter's listen to his patients and has alot of compassion! Does a excellent job!
